  1. Where are the returns to the sump located, mine were to low and oil was being pushed up them, after fitting a one way valve on the catch can return and moving another to a tee on the turbo oil return all is good. And returning your oil to the sump is fine, the only reason people think its not is because they see the oil that comes out of a non return can, in a non return system the catch can will fill with oil and moisture and also during the cooling proccess it absorbs moisture giving it the milky apperance, BUT, with the return to sump the moisture will be cooked off by the oil getting hot. Its like the condensation forming inside of a car when you are sitting in it, the insine becomes warmer than the outside thus creating condensation, when you turn on your demister it evaporates. There is a stiky thread with oil control in the Forced Induction section.
  2. My boat was having starting problems, put in a new 10mm earth from the gearbox to the chassis and now its all good.
  3. Get a straight edge and run it from the balancer to the PS, I found the difference to be about 5mm, we drilled out the bracket so the whole PS assembly could move forward 5mm, the job took a couple of hours to do but now the 2 pulleys align perfectly. And it was only the PS that was causing issues, the AC and ALT are fine. Give ROSS a call and see what they say, its a common problem, albeit a easy fix if you modify the bracket.
  4. LOL, even will all the driving aids and how idiot proof the EVOs are you can still manage to find someone who cannot point and shoot. I do want a EVO 5 though for a daily, at this stage though, missus says no, unless I sell the boat, which at this stage is not a option.
  5. Have fun guys, sadly Im also not going to get there, next week though Ill be better prepared, hopefully if the planets align and the price is right Ill have some M/T drag radials, they should get me well into the 11s as long as nothing breaks. Post your times and pics RWDFTWBBQ
  6. I believe it was a 30 one. But don't quote me on that. I was pissed it happened, BUT, these things happen when you are using different parts from 3 different engines, I like to call it teething problems.
  7. The offset was off using a 25 pump and bracket on a 30.
  8. LOL.
  9. I got best modified boat, there wasn't many of us boat owners there.
  10. A long as its a member I don't care.
  11. Thats funny, I thought I was posting in the NSW section not the wastelands. If I wanted a opinionated view or reply I would have posted in the wasteland Kids these days.............
  12. I dont know about the OP but my Ross balancer was spitting powersteering belts, we slotted the powersteering bracket so it came 5mm forward and now after 5 trackdays and 3 drag days its all good. Mine is a 25/30 also, using the 25 bracket and pump. I think it has something to do with either using the powersteering pump and bracket of a 25, 26 or a 30. Or I could be totaly wrong.................
  13. Pardon my ignronance but what is APWR ? I understand RWDFTWBBQ but thats about it, LOL.

  15. Ive got a soft spot for 4AGE motors, I had a nice one in my old AW11, only ran on 98 though, still it loved to scream at high RPM.

  17. Are the wheels balanced or buckled ? Do you need a wheel alignment ? How are your wheel bearings ?
  18. Your hydrolic lifters may be gummed up inside, whilst the heads off give them a good clean. Remember to pre fill them before you reinstall them, if not it will rattle off its head till they pump themselves up (this is bad). Or get a good second hand motor, ensure you do a compressdion test on it before handing over any dollars, also if possible remove the sump and have a look inside, if its coated in thick sludge find another. EDIT: or rebuild if you have the dollars Good luck, hope it turns out well.
  19. 1. Start car 2. Idle for about a minute to let oil pressure build up 3. Drive off boost till it reaches normal operating temps 4. Skids Works for me
  20. I believe its possible but I would just stay slightly under the limit.

  22. Remember to compare stock wheel size against the ones you want or have..the speedo is calibrated for stock wheel and tyre sizes. And its the rear sizes that matter as this is where the speedo gets its reading from on the gear box, unless Im old and things have changed.
