  1. The cops are taught to look at they way people dress and behave, if you are a hoody wearing pants down around your knees kind of guy then you will be looked at, same thing if you look punk, emo, goth, metalhead, are you from a poorer area wearing top dollar clothes, they look at stereo typical types of fashion, also your personal apperance has a lot to do with it, if you have bags under your eyes or look half asleep, have bad skin you will be looked at. This is their job, this is how they work, when the cops are hassling you they do it for a reason, they wait for your reaction, if you get aggro or your facial apperance gets dark then they will push. Simple psycology is simple.
  2. I like cops, they have a hard job dealing with idiots druggies and drunks, if I was a cop I think I would end up getting in trouble for belting all the mouthy idiots and the scum that are everywhere. They drag dead and dying bodies out of cars, clean up the mess after some scum has bashed his partner or kids, chase down scum who bash people for fun or the money in their pocket, things like this give people a short amount of time for idiots, they put themselves on the line for me and my family. Are you going to put yourself in front of a meth crazed junkie to protect my family ??? COPS ARE TOPS
  3. My S1 1995 has it, ABS is good, Ive never flat spotted a tyre on the track, why, ABS, why would you want to get rid of it ????? Unless its a BALLS TO THE WALL race car I was told there is a wire you can disconnect to disable it for motorkhanas so you can do J turns and stuff. ALSO IF THE CAR IS REGOED IT WILL BE A MAJOR DEFECT, you are removing safety gear.
  4. The one I'm getting doesn't have a spring (sort of), it is a flap which only needs .5psi to seal, the guy said it will flow until a 0.5psi backpressure hits it. P/N 251010 At least I hope that how it works, for almost $300 I would hate to get the wrong part.
  5. I've just purchased a -10 non return valve thingie from Earls, it will be fitted on the return line from the can to the sump, they don't do -12 so it will have some adaptors, Damn these things cost. Fingers crossed this will help if there is oil being pushed up the hose. Eastern creek on Sunday, I'm hoping this helps. I should have went dry sump at the start of the build, things would have been so much simpler.
  6. Replace battery and check belt tension, tighten and/or replace if necessary.
  7. Buy the best tyres you can afford and fit whatever size the manufacturer recommends. A good set of tyres may be the only thing stopping you from being dead.
  8. The scoota is gone mate, to many powaahs for me to handle. I reallly hope to make it mate, I still havent brought a car out in anger to a TEXI, its fun watching but if I remember my missgotten youth correctly doing power skids and slides is kinda fun.
  9. I would like to thankyou for all the awesome free power up tips, so all I need to do is remove the vac line from my gate to gets me some awesome power. Will I need to return my car back to stock internals and stock fuel pump to achieve this awesome power. This thread delivers the awesomes. Why would it get locked, awesome free power ups are hard to come by.

  12. How's this thing coming along ??
  13. You can buy a cheap multi meter for around $20, they are a good investment for your tool box as you will use it heaps for lots of little jobs.
  14. Dirty connections somewhere maybe, but to me it sounds like a Alternator fault ??? Reason being is that when the car is running the battery just gets charged as the alternator takes over to supply power, if the battery was going out you wouldnt see it whilst the car was running, I once had a dead as battery, it would only start with a jump, but when it was running it was fine. You may have killed the battery by running it dead. Saying that Im not 100% on modern car electrics, with my old pre ECU cars you didnt even need a battery, park on a hill and clutch it, no problems, I do know that the new cars need a battery with some volts to let the ECU send signals to injectors and stuff. Stick in a fresh battery from a mates car and see if it starts, if it does put a meter on it and see if it recieving volts, I think it should be around 13.5 volts (not 100% sure) or so when the car is running, if its not switch it off or you will drain your mates battery flat.
  15. I like the bigger rear wing, it sits up nice and high in the air and if the aero guys at Toyota have done their job right it should work well. Also where is the performance line drawn at aero, Ive seen bigger wings on alot of lower powered cars at the track doing fast times. I see these with some good tyres and a bit of a tweek here and there being fun and quick little trackday cars
  16. And the story line to these pics is ???????

  21. Water % Percentage of water found in sample given as a percentage of total volume. Moisture is common in short trip vehicles that don’t fully get the oil up to operating temperature long enough. It generally takes 10-15 minutes for the oil to get to this temperature, which is enough to start evaporating the moisture in the sample. The same goes for fuel in your sample too. An occasional long highway drive is good for your oil’s health. http://www.bobistheo...e-oil-analysis/ Also, if you run your cars oil at over 70 deg for 30 to 40 min it should burn off any moisture that has accumulated in the oil
  22. Water comes from the atmosphere and the combustion of fuel, one of the byproducts of fuel burning is water, sounds silly but its true, a forged motor will breath heavier until it has come up to temp and allow more contaminants to get past the rings. Same with higher boost, there are some good research papers on this in the interwebs. And E85 will produce even more moisture. Ill look for some linkys on this later IICBA
  23. Oil that just sits in catch can will accumulate all the moisture in the system due to it only staying warm enough the attract moisture and will turn to crud, but if it drains back to the sump from the catch the moisture will be cooked off in the hot oil, my can has been returning to the sump for a couple of years now with no ill effect The vents on top of the catch can allows any moisture in the system to get out. Simples physics like me, simple...
  24. I got it because it was thin, it has better flow than the thicker stuff, and I found how it bends easy was a good thing as you can easily form it and shape it around corners.
