  1. Paint it body color for the "its stock look" Mine is a FRP though , and it has big arse Aerocatch locks on it so its not as stealthy as it once was, but at least now it wont fly up at speed.
  2. This is the one way valve This the hot side head drain/vent which goes to the turbo drain Hot side head fitting Front 25 head drain blocked This is the regulator that was fitted to drop the oil pressure from the TOMEI from 140 psi @ 6000rpm to 105psi at 6000rpm From the regulator a bleed line goes to the sump This is the fitting in the side of the head that has the restrictor, the restrictors in the block are both blocked off, this feeds the head oil, it takes 5 minutes to swap a restrictor, another external line geos to the VCT. The 25 head has 26 covers with mines baffles, the head vents to the catch can Via -12 fittings, the catch can has 2 30mm filters under the pod cover plate. Time for a Scotch................... .
  3. The oily water in the catch can gets there by the little bit of oil and heat sucking the water out of the atmosphere, Im not saying you should have a heap of water in it but it does get in, expecially when the catch can doesnt drain back it will build up over time, and due to the fact that the inside of the catch can doesnt get very hot the water doesnt cook off. Put some oil on the stove and heat it up and then let it cool 10 or 20 times, the oil will turn watery when it cools, simple physics is simple. The same happens in the sump but because the sump oil gets hot it cooks off the water. This alsois why big deisel engines have fuel/water seperators, the deisel in the tank gets warm and when it cools it absorbs water. Put even simplyer (?) sit in you car on a cold day, the windows will fog up, this is due to the air inside is warmer than the air outside thus causing condensation.
  4. Im taking the car to work this weekend to put on the maintanance ramps, Ill take some photos of it when its up there and the undertray is off.
  5. Thanks mate, it was something so simple in the end, so simple we didnt even concider it, D'oh!
  6. Finaly sorted my oil problems, my return line to the sump and the hot side head drain/vent fittings were to low on the sump, on hard right hand corners the oil would push UP the drain/vent. In essance I had a - 12 restrictor filling the head and a self filling catch can on anything that involved turning right. With the catch can return line having the one way valve and the head drain/vent being moved to the turbo oil return all issues were solved. The drain/vent on the cold side are right at the top of the sump and are not causing any issues. I did a new PB of 1:52 at the creek last Sunday too, after doing 2 sessions of testing I got up it a bit on the 3rd and the car loved it, not a drop of oil anywhere. Im stoked, FINALY.
  7. What was the build date of the tyres, did they sell you old stock ?
  8. The rest of you guys dont stand a chance with my awesome paint skills.
  9. They do look good going around a track
  10. Cars should be made to comply with rules and regs from country of origin, its a world event is it not, if rules were to follow CAMS how would some of the Japanese or American cars get on, would they rebuild their cars to suit, or just not come. This is a hard topic to iron out to to there being so many variables. The safety side of things is through most important though, we,don't want drivers or spectators in any danger that could be prevented by some simple engineering safety regulations. That's my 2 cents anyway, work is the devil and it looks like I'm missing out on going this year.
  11. The new layout has some wider corners due to the extra bit of road they put in on a few corners, also going through 1 at more than walking pace helped, but over all I think it was a little bit everywhere, I tried to be smoother and link the corners better, also on my fastest run there was no traffic at all to put me off. The main thing was (maybe) after 2 sessions without a drop of oil causing me issues I put the pedal to the metal and had a ball, Im waiting for some pics from "old mate" to turn up, Ill post up some pics of the nissans or anything else that floats my boat really when they turn up. There was a Gardner Douglas T70 there which made me a bit hard
  12. I was standing at the staging area and watched it go by, the wing was held on by 2 small bolts either side and the bracket looked like 1mm alloy. I would hazard to say that there may be a bit more strength in it next time out.
  13. Sorry guys, no times for the 86 on NATSOFT.
  14. NEXT Supersprint – Round 4 (Interclub) Wakefield Park Raceway When: Saturday 18 August, 2012
  15. What will you be reving it to and how much of a power band do you need, mine runs to 7200 and has a good torquey power band from just over 4000 all the way to 7200, my inlet side is standard but my exhaust side has a bit more lift From my googling and shop talk you dont want to go to big with the 30 as it is limited with its lower RPM.
  16. Good work mate
  17. Seen one today being punted around eastern creek GP circuit. I'll post up its time when NATSOFT updates. It was 100% stock.
  18. To true UNIGROUP and Yavus have gone out of their way to help me, they have always made it a priority to get my car going to its best potential. I will always use and recommend them as there isn't many places around who give this kind of service, a lot of places would have thrown in the towel, but they kept on keeping on. again, I'm as happy as ten happy things.
  19. New PB for me, 1:52.2, I found 5 seconds somewhere, car went great, no oil surge problems at all, I think Im almost at the limit of the Hankook RS3 tyres though, Yavus came out to make sure all was well, the only small issue was blowing a IC pipe off on turn 12, fixed it with Yavus in 15 minutes and was back out for my next session. High boost run was fun. Bring on Wakie, under 70 for sure. Im a very happy man.
  20. See you guys tomorrow.
  21. LOL, me to. Most times I get pulled over the cops look in the window and go "um err, we are pulling you up for a random breath test" they then walk back to their car and get the thingie. Some times they ask about the mods and I give them my folder with the rego, insurance, cams licence, engineers report, they then have a chat about the car, ask me how fast it is, I usually say "its pretty quick but it would be even quicker with a better nut behind the wheel, I laugh, they laugh, and then Im on my way. Works the same when Ive been pulled in and the RTA are there doing vehicle checks. Never a problem.
