  1. those ones are still low the difference with the snap on one is it stays low for much longer, whereas the other ones slope up pretty early so u cant push it as far under the car
  2. 0.02 is acceptable current draw not 0.04, but depending on the battery size and how often you drive the car this will vary. sounds like the alternators on its way out, make sure the alternator is getting a good ground and also the positive cable is is good condition
  3. lol wouldnt it be much easier and safer just to drop the cat and look? if a turbo is half rooted (also being ceramic) the last thing u wanna do is spin the engine at 7000+ rpm
  4. yeah do the test at running temp for starters, and full throttle, keep the test consistent across the cylinders for example if u hit 3 compression strokes on the 1st cylinder, do the same for the other 5, dont just keep cranking until it stops going up. if your still not sure do a leakdown test it will tell you everything a compression test doesn't.
  5. a good battery will read 12.6 volts and when starting wont drop under 10
  6. howd u go? if its not broken it may just need adjusting, if so loosen the nut and back it off the pedal a little.
  7. howdy, im after someone's help who owns an 89 model r32 gtr. ive got 2 pictures of receiver-dryers, if someone could tell me which one they're 89 model GTR has that would be great! my book tells me pic 1of2 (RNIS05) is for a r32 model 6/91 - 3/93. im pretty confident this is the dryer its just weird that they start it from june 91 onwards. the other pic, 2of2 (RNIS12) says its for an 8x - 89 model skyline, which im thinking is whats used on r31's. pics - http://mysite-qibp.posterous.com/sau-pocs thanks guys!
  8. do u mean the second one? part number RNIS12 ? and my bad in my above post i was meant to say the 1st pic is for a r32 and the second is an r31
  9. hmm i was hoping it wud of been the second one, the 1st pic is supposed to fit an 89 r31 and then the other 1 is 91 onwards r32's, but then again it could be the same as the r31.
  10. yeah cheers iphone for posting my topic when not finished. what i meant was does any1 have a r32 89 model gtr, has to be 89 as the book ive got only lists july 91 -94. my question is which reciever dryer for the aircon does an 89 gtr use, ive uploaded 2 pics and im hoping its one of these 2. if the pics dont work ill upload em when i get home, again - stupid iphone

  12. saw this cruising down great eastern hwy a few weeks ago i was next to ya in my work van, car looks mean as! that front lip is soo low haha
  13. lmao. r33's are easy stick ur head underneath theres 2 little tabs 1 each side, pull them in then the bottom of the glove box should drop and the whole thing should come out
  14. wonder how deep the water came and how long it was sitting there for. We had a cruiser come into work which must had been sitting in water for a while, not good at all just about every electronic component was corroded, cost a sh1t load more to fix it up at cost price then he sold it for. would not recommend to anyone buying a car thats gone for a swim.
  15. really no engine number cast into the block? if thats the case then this ones probably just been putchases bare and buit up as it has got a number. i thought an engine number would be like a vin where u can run it through a system to see whats going on, hmm
  16. ok so i know the n1 blocks have a 24U number cast into the block, but is there any way to run the number through nissan to find out if it was just a bare block purchased or if it was a complete assembled n1 motor or taken out of a n1? reason i ask is theres a car for sale with a supposedly n1 motor from a r33 in it, he didnt built it but the engine was like that from japan, so i just wanna know really if its just a n1 block with unknown internals or if its the real deal. but even if it is unknown internals surely it would be a well built motor? who would buy an n1 block to build a shit motor haha discuss
  17. not sure mate but putting 2 in the pink and 1 in the stink isnt a great idea, u'll get shit on your pinky, better off putting 3 in the pink
  18. just make sure u havnt got any 100w globes in either ur highbeam, lowbeam or foglights, they tend to melt plugs, fuses and wiring
  19. cool what did it end up being? didnt take them too long to fix it?
