Damn i lurrrvvvvvv my skyline. 6 months of ownship and just as exciting as the 1st day i got it. Actually i lie, becuase i was a bit intimidated by the power when i got it. Hehe Still am to some degree but nothing a few track days can't cure I'm sure. Have a good one lads and lassies!

There IS a setting for this n the etc. menu somewhere. When i had mine installed it never went over about 5 kms/hr. Went and changed the value of ....i forget....but it then read about half of what i was doing ie......read 40 when doing 80, then changed the same value again and it was spot on....except for adjusting to about 104% for fine adjustment. It says in the instructions somewhere and it's to do with how many pulse each car sends per whatever. It's VERY easy once you find out which value it is.

Hi peoples, The ex has an Astra SRI non-turbo which goes quite well. About 110kws and zippy. I can't beleive this but since we've broken up, she's gone off to the Wakefeild track and done some racing ! Even got her own helmet and fire extinguisher. She did quite well coming second in her catagory and it's her first time. She did some time and all the guys are blowing smoke up her arse saying how good that was(for a girl i bet). She was thinking, crap! I can do better. So she wipes off 10 secs! Go girl ! 1) Is it possible to put a SAFC in the SRI? 2) What gains would she expect if any. I've read somewhere 10-12%. Yeah? Thanks! Birnie

Ummmmmm, trying to remember now. I think it was. Couple of weeks ago now. Why? Was it you?!

Saw a 4 Door, R34 the other week when driving up the Freeway past Hornsby. The looked about 50 and I guess it was non turbo, had no wing on the back. But took awhile to creap up next to him and I saw him looking at the front of my car... I waited till he caught me looking at him, gave a wave then his arm jumped up and waved back with a grin Onya buddy ! Glad to see, and I'm guessing here, a family man choosing something different and better to the Forad/Holden Cliche

Why Do You Like Skylines? Their Best Qualitys
Birnie replied to OKBANANA's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Alot of people are saying "sleek sporty looking". But when i look in shop windows at my car's reflection (pathetic I know) I reckon it looks frig** MEAN ! Ooooo yeah ! -
Your car does run at 7psi of full boost (after 45000rpm). The half way mark is correct. But the +7, -7 is not psi. And not 'bar', i forget what it is, someone else will fill the gap. Cheapest way to obtain boost is the old Gated Boost Valve. Only around the $100 mark and cheaper ones around here to if you're patient. Just remember to get an after markey boost guage to monitor boost properly in case of too much boost.

Haha! I'm so lexicdys I meant I looks like someone drove through house paint
-
Hi guys, Had my Skyline for a while and when I purchased it, it had some sort of paint splatters around the rear wheel. It looks like ordinary house that the car may have driven through. The car is white and the paint a sort of cream so it's very hard to see from a few metres so I haven't bothered with it yet. It's a couple of mms thick though. Is there any sort of product that may be able to disolve this without harming the car's surface?? Thanks...Birnie

Hi judd, Price on a HKS front mount intercooler with piping for a Series II R33? Thanks..Birnie
-
Hey Dale, I'll give it a go for sure if I've got a day off. Did you do both morning and arvo sessions???
-
YEAH ! THanks b2barker. Another pice of the puzzle is filled in. Didn't have a boost controller to start with. I need to do a course or something....geeze
-
Thanks for the info BASS Still trying to get my head around things. Thought I was was on a winner there. Doh! I'll have to keep searching for the more technical answers but that's ok. Even from reading your reply, "you will most likely raise the boost that the turbo can supply to the manifold". I can accept that, but why should it when it's set to a certain level. Still searching. Catch ya..Birnie

Hi guys, I've read around and seen from adds on FRONT/DUMP pipes, and also, recently, from adding intercoolers that because of exhaust flow efficency, or cooler temps that your car will be running at higher boost. Surely this ISN'T correct. Although I do believe that you are no capable of running higher boost with better efficiency, or less danger, or whatever others reasons. And I agree that you might spool up quicker. They definatley make sense..... BUT, you must be limited to what your boost controller is set to. I don't care if there's a massive vacuum sucking gases out of your turbo. As soon as it reaches it's set limit, it will hold it there and no further. So basically, the theory is (in my mind) mod ecerything to make it smoother and cooler but no extra boost will be obtained until you mod or replace the boost controller. Am I wrong??? Thanks...Birnie
