Looks like they have a..... Datsun 240Z Modifications we performed: RB25DET (pic looks like a NEO) Wiring to run stock ECU Custom Intercooler & Piping Revised Fuel System 2 1/2" Exhaust System Aftermarket Seats

Haven't used em but QuickFit in horsnby look like they are a very busy mob. I went in there once and noticed a VL with a custom intercooler kit ( i assume they did) and it looked the goods! As far as tuning goes, they like their autronics. Might be worth a call anyway. http://www.quickfitmotorsport.com.au/

I'm eventually going to do one myself and hope to model it on 'lazy-bastard' s job. Check out his photo album and you'll be impressed. I'm currently waiting for the cooler to arrive from ebay. Driving me nuts! But id it does turn up, it was a good deal. Hyrbid cooler seems to be ok but there are mixed reports on the piing kit as some seem to be paint flaking. You heading for the same set up as mine and I can't wait !

Is it possible to get an exhaust place to put the little lip on the end, similar to what is one the intercooler, to make it about 2mms fatter so that the hoses can't get blown off?

I was looking under my bonnet toay before the oil change and notived the little screw bit in the middle of the top of the shock. Now it sure looks like it can screw in and out but as I'm a total newbie when it comes to suspension, can someone tell me if that's what it's for? ..and if it's recommended? Thanks guys :coffee:
-
Did you get the instructions? Pretty much tells you how to set it up. I used to have one and there was a throttle position set-up section. Plug in a value with foot off/on and figures it out form the voltage readings with those 2 points. As ed said, no ignition timing. The only thing it alters is the air flow signal.

upgrading to power fc - need advise!!
Birnie replied to performance-wise's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Bleeder valve is a cheapo boost controller. Turbosmart is the most common. Would have to be the cheapest easiest upgrade ever! Do a search and should be a bit about it. -

There's no reason you can't do the front mount straight away. Grab a bleeder valve fro $100 and do that whenever aswell. Just make sure you install and tune the FC last, or at least at the same time as everything else. Because the first time you install it you will be up for a $400-$600 tune, not advised to drive it without it being tuned. If you LATER install the FC and or Boost ctrl, you will need to get it dyno tuned again. My Power FC is currently collecting dust under the bed untill i get the front mount done. Literally! Gotta get my act together -

Make sure you buy one and quote your make and model of car. THEY ARE CAR SPECIFIC. He would have one specifically for the R33 GTR as i have a different one for my R33 GTS-T. They are NOT interchangable so as long as you order the one for your car, you will be fine. www.nengun.com has been used by heaps of people on these forums, do a search and you will see. Very cheap and comes with warranty. No offence, but you sound like a bit of a newby (me too) so i wouldn't bother with an electronic boost controller just yet. But hey, if your cashed up, go for it. My goal at the moment is to have the Power FC installed and tuned with the front mount intercooler, a bleeder-boost-controller set to 11psi and my current exhause mods. Very common setup. Go for that. Probably very close to the 200 rwkws. -
I was driving the opposite direction back to Sydney that night and saw the aftermath. Flashing lights everywhere but looks like it had been cleared up a bit. ALL traffic diverted heading north and 1 lane closed as we travelled south. You could see tyhe front of the semi that hit the car. Even the semi was F%*&ed up. I would have to say it would have been the fog that did it. Was a shocker! The lady probably stopped like the previous posts said but the semi would have been flying through at the 110 kms and just wacked straight in before being seen. Fog is usually at it's worst on that section. By the way, it was the very bottom of the Mooney Mooney bridge where i would guess people are going the fastest.

Pretty sure idle on a manual is 650, there's a sticker under the bonnet i think. If it was hunting on the way home on the 1st day, maybe the computer's memory has been wiped and it's re-learning. Mine hunted after an exhaust change but it dissappeared after 30 mins, of normal driving. Founf it all pretty interesting. Didn't know cars ECU's could learn -
APEXi SAFC-II - Sydney
Birnie replied to Birnie's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Sorry guys, sold ages ago. amoore - it's an air fuel computer. Alter the fuel signal going to ECU. If you've boosted above normal (easily done with a bleeder valve for $80), i think the ECU puts in a bit too much fuel. You can over come this this with the SAFC and get more power. I had mine dyno tuned with it on 10psi. 1st run was 154 rwkws. last run 177rwkws. Wacko ! So for cheap upgrades it quite good and very bling bling. They look awesome. Check ebay. And they are easy to sell second hand when you want to upgrade to a full computer. Cya! -
Are these lowered? and by how much if they are. Adjustable? Don't know much about these so any info apreciated...thanks
-
If you wanna get something like a SAFC to start with. Should be able to get one reasonably cheap 2nd hand. They can be dyno tuned. I had one (sold now), I was running 10psi like youself, with pod and full 3" exhaust. No front mount though Before tune, 1st run, it was 154 rwkws. After, it was 177 rwkws. So about $300 for the SAFC and i paid $150 for an hour dyno tune at Unigroup. I ended up selling the SAFC and installed it on a mates car. He got it tuned too and got 176 rwkws. Definatley worth looking into and easily saleable when you wanna upgrade. I now have a Power FC but am putting of the install until i get the front mount done. Hopefully get around the 190 mark if i also increase to 12psi. Hmmmm, yummy

Hey DLuded, Do you have any pics of the piping? Was this an R32/33? $300 sounds good. And who was it? Thanks

FMIC installed - Remove the mesh or not?
Birnie replied to wilch's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I think it looks pretty cool with the white mesh. Leave it i say. -
Yeah, thanks mate, email sent........ I'm hoping there is just a misunderstanding here somewhere. Even on his site, the one ECU cover both Series I and II 93/8 to 98/5
