Hi guys, I'm finally taking the plunge and buying what seems to be the most common setup for R33 suspension. ie. Bilstein shocks and Whiteline springs (as recommended by Sydneykid) UAS have em for $225 per shock ($900) and the springs are $295 Total of $1195 I haven't said anything about the Skylines membership and don't know if it will make any difference but I'll try. Has anyone else seen it cheaper or is that pretty much the going rate? Installation will be done by me. (oh dear) but it should be fun. Thanks! :headspin:

I tried but I'm not that great at it. With 1 set of spacers it was very close to hitting the metal surround of the car. Ended up not doing it and getting 6" round ones. Got a spare set of 6x9's now if anyone wants to purchase?? Pioneer 3 ways, 240w i think.

I had the same problem(except for the blow out) Just foun different sized sockets that were close to the size, went to Cash Converters and bought some around that size for 50c each then bashed em on the lock nut. (bought 2nd hand ones cause they were gunna get ruined anyway) Was hard work but had to be done, and did finally get there in the end

That's just the price to do the bend though is it with you supplying the piping?

True, but when they check it if i get pulled over it goes to zero whcih is correct. Hehe Plus i can get rid of it if cops are around. Rip it off and hide it under something (unless they search the cabin off course) Also, you can set it up so the ecreen will flash at any rev level you want. One bad thing i don't like about it, which doesn't happen very often, is the sun glare off the glass/plastic face. Normal speedos don't seem to reflect at all so you can always see the speed. Not so with the RSM, but definatley livable. Definatley a cover up option like you said, but so good at it, i aint fixing the speedo.

I had (still have) problems with the speedo which is a common prob due to wind backs. Goes straight to 60km/h weather your doing 10km/h or 120km/h I wasn't going to spend money fixing it when you can get an APEXi RSM instead. Exactly what i did and i love it Good for those 0-100 times too. and removes the speed cut. ..and looks sexy! Probably get one 2nd hand for $250 maybe? But yeah, has revs too and mine is just velcro'd inside the dash

How much did the whole set up cost you in the end? Where did you get the bits n pieces? Surely APEXi not from Pedders? Thank!

I think the Power FC isn't an option with the auto. Sydney Kid seems to be happy using the APEXi SAFC for his auto applications.

Bleeder boost controller for $100. Woohoo ! Even without front mount is a huge difference. Turbosmart is the most common.

(hmmm, the more you learn, the more questions you have) If i was to get my timing belt changed for a 100,000km service, would it be worth getting them to install an adjustable exhaust cam at the same time even if not to alter the setting? Just have it there for next time i do have a dyno tune and then play with the settings then. If that is a good idea, is it much more effort for the mechanic? Lets just make up a figure of $600 for changing belt (with supply) but i bring along a adj cam and say "hey, while your there, can you swap this over?" How much more would this cost you reckon? Hadn't hand washed my car in 2 months as bought a new place and fitting it, spending cash etc. (and buying a puppy) Washed it finally, got rained on that very day. Hehe I've even got the stoopid damn levels web site book marked so i know when i can use the freeeegan hose again ! How sad. Gimme 2 solid months of rain please! (after Summer)

I've recently taken my bleed valve boost controller off for awhile so i cruise a bit easier on the freeway and not have my pod filter making heaps of noise on the slightest accelerator touch. Standrad boost back to 7psi from 10psi. HEAPS of difference! Feals so sluggish now. You can do this upgrade (putting the bleeder on that is) for about $100. Well worth a try. You WILL notice it. I'm going to put it back on eventually and hope to do a decent installation guide. It's so easy and alot of people ask about it (i remember not knowing) As Arnie says...... "DOOO IIIITTTTT !!!"

This is fantastic! I asked the same question about 1 yr ago and i don't thik i got a very satisfactory explanation. But the 'mechanical' bit makes alot of sense to me. I can get my head around that. I would love someone to get a camera under the hood wacthing the actuator arm with another camera watching the revs/boost, put the images side by side and watch a full dyno run and actually see it work and what really happens.

I hope it wasn't just a picture with the piping then in the fine print it says "cooler only" Nearly been caught out myself on stuff like that

Hey guys, Can you have a look a these photos for me? Looks like it might not be a hig flow cat but i would have no idea. The rest is 3 inch as in front/dump and cat back. So if this isn't, i would like to get rid of the bottle neck. Will i notice much difference? Should be able to get one off ebay for $160 i hope. Yibeda yibeda !

Someone's already mentioned this before, you must test drive before you buy! But you're looking at STI's and R34 GTR's...good luck ! As far as R34's go, i would test drive a R32 and just think, newer car with more bling. But what would i know, i've never even sat in a R32 GTR... boohoo (just as well, i'd probably leave a stain) When i bought my car (R33 GTS-T), i test drove that, a 300ZX twin turbo and even an FTO. They were all on the list and i had to find out for myself which i liked better. I love my car!!!!! and don't regret the decision at all ! You can't spend enough time researching b4 you decide (which is what your doing know i guess, so good on ya )

I'd like the plastic surround of the window controls on the drivers door. The long piece including the hand grip for pulling the door shut. How's $20 sound? And where are you? Probably only worth worrying about if your in the local Sydney area. Thanks
