  1. no... but it's weird, i still read it all. i play counterstrike fwiw. i'll get a ps3 when krudd starts handing em out.
  2. +2 Confirm Ryco Z200 fits. Look at some of the crap that came out of old one !!
  3. Went for a Tambo run and also along The Panorama after finishing fuel filter and spark plugs. Car definitely is running smoother. Pity there was so much traffic out today....
  4. I've definitely got a SMIC, almost all turbo stagea's do. Series 1 have R33 IC, Series 2 have R34GT-T IC. It's mounted in the lower left of the front bumper with a duct and the air exit's through the wheel arch. It's only the RS260's that get FMIC due to RB26. Thanks man, i'm pretty happy with the fuel consumption too Still got over a 1/4 of a tank of fuel and done 425km so far. Looks like 600k's again before light comes on. I think i was hitting R&R when i had a sloppy map setup a week ago. I was accelerating up a hill going from 2nd-3rd and as boost was coming on up to around 10-11 psi at about 3000rpm it just died in a instant snap. I backed off the throttle instantly and continued mapping with windscreen intact . I feel for ya mate being on only 4.5psi ! When i was setting up the IEBC I had the ECU still controlling the solenoid aswell, and could only hit 7psi - even that felt slow again. 4.5psi would be crazy. zzzzZZZzzzzz
  5. So if the R33 intercooler drops 4-5 @ 10psi, and the R34GT-T one in my S2Stagea is slightly larger, i wonder if i have more pressure drop ? i guess it comes more so down to internal design.. Geez i better get the second boost guage on this weekend. Well I WAS going to try and hold 12psi, but you now have me more curious about the pressure drop. I will not go any further with mapping until i hook up 2nd boost guage now. The main things i can think of in comparing our fuel consumption is, 1. I have NEO Motor. 2. I have 68ltr tank. 3. I have 5 speed Manual. 4. 80% of driving is @ 100-110km/h on the highway. I don't have a DFA yet, my A'Pexi pencil turbo timer says i'm mainly running @ 14.5 A/F when cruising, normal take off from lights etc. When the power is down it slowly drops to 11-12 as it revs out. Don't know how accurate a turbo timer is for A/F tho ? Also i refill as soon as the fuel light comes on, and usually to fill it again is 58 litres. So i guess i am getting 600 odd k's off 58ltrs = 9.67ltrs per 100km. The S2 Stag weighs 1650kg too.
  6. I can definitely see what your saying about the possible pressure drop across the core of the SMIC. I am pretty sure I have read though that the standard S2 SMIC is R34 GT-T and can take 200awkw. I highly doubt i am even @ 150awkws. One plan i do have, is to put another boost gauge pre-SMIC for testing so i can see what the difference is. I am so close to getting a fully stable map at top end, but i can still feel the RB power dip around the 5-6000rpm mark. Didn't gap the plugs yet, so that is this weekend now. I filled up a full tank today, so i will let you know when it's dry what i got. I normally average 150 klms to each 1/4 mark on the guage so 600ks till refill so i will check that too. It feels so responsive and crisp now, I don't have to put the pedal down as far for hills ands overtaking on the hway is effortless in 5th gear just touching the throttle a bit more than you would cruising.
  7. +1 Just Car Buying the Stagea this year is the first car i've ever put comprehensive on. I'm on $1138 a year Rating 1. With the stuffing around bit, it happens everywhere. Banks try it, Phone co's try it, Insurance co's try it. If you don't complain, they win every time. Suncorp's repairer told my girl that she would have to source a door rubber strip for her VT commodore (an elderly man T-Boned her with his mint old cortina) as holden no longer make it. They suggested we go to the wreckers..... We kicked up a stink and told em to sort it out, thats what COMPRE-FKN-HENSIVE is. They reckoned wreckers didn't have any, or they were damaged and sent a cheque for $51. I can not believe it. Even if i found a door strip, there is no way i could buy it, spray it the pooey burnt orange to match the car, and then fit it. It's a bloody joke.
  8. Thanks ! Your not wrong about boost building quicker, especially noticeable in the taller gears. Had a bit more of a play and set up a second map with same boost level just different characteristics to learn more about how that changes the boost hit etc. I will post up a couple of graphs once i am done mapping. 2nd gear on "The Panorama" @ Tallai is a great place for load testing, the northern entry hill is fantastic. dead straight 14%+ hill for what seems to be 300 odd meters then starts getting curvy.
  9. I want to get a sticker with picture of bigbird and the word STAGEA in the sesame street logo to go on the back window
  10. Hi all, just wanted to let you know of my setup with the IEBC on a SII RS4-S. With out this thread i would probably still be stuck, and it definitely helps to read the paperwork twice ! Had no problems (so i thought) building the kit, made sure i didn't install the couple of links, didn't forget the link under the d25 connector either ! Then after reading through here a bit, i found out about earthing the crystals as well. Mistake no.1. After connecting up the IEBC and having the maps set at 0% i found i couldn't boost past 7psi. WTF ? Then after looking at SK's photo's, I realised i had the vacuum lines still as per standard. WOOPS. Mistake No.2. test drive no.2. 7 psi boost max AGAIN. Read entire thread and realised i should have cut solenoid wire off ecu. Mistake No.3. test drive 3.HOLY CRAP boost and lots of it !! ok time to start setting a map. It took me about 1 hour to get a decent map. I am getting 12psi at about 2600 rpm, and holding through till around 5800rpm (about 60% solenoid duty cycle) where it drops down to 10 psi which is about load point 45. From that point up to 64 i have it still at 100% duty cycle so I need to bring those numbers down now. I will finish mapping it tomorrow but WOW what an amazing unit. Very impressed with it's capabilities. Thanks once again to everyone in here that contributed info. Heres a couple of pics showing engine bay vacuum lines, and interior ( for tuning purposes only ). Once I have finished configuring this map and then do the next map, I will disconnect the controller and tuck the IEBC away somewhere.
  11. It's a 3"JJ Dump, 3" hiflo cat, 3" fujitsubo stainless exhaust with a centre and rear muffler. The power seems to dip around 5000 but comes back at around 6000.
  12. Spotted a white S2 heading south along highway @ Elanora. I was in a dayz (lol pun ftw) and only saw him flashing his lights at last moment.
  13. Just get some of those "overnight parts from japan" Looks nice Califunky
  14. putting that on the list of stuff to do this weekend ! Speaking of spark plugs, i am going to remove mine to check condition and mainly gap settings. I could of sworn i read somewhere that as soon as you up the boost to around 10-12psi, you need to gap the plugs to .8mm instead of 1.1mm. I am noticing the power dip higher in the revs, and I am pretty sure this had something to do with it. sorry for going off topic !
  15. Spotted a stock green S1 Stagea through Nerang this evening. It was heading out towards canungra turn off. 66yostagea perhaps ?
  16. Intercooler setup is looking the goods. Bargain price too. The BOV alone is almost double that
  17. I run Motul 8100 X-cess 5w40 @ $80/5ltrs from Repco Nerang and run it for 10,000k. That comes up every 2.5-3months. I did the full readup on the oil forum setup here and asked a few questions. Because I am mainly hway driving 10,000k on quality oil is ok. Unless you guys thrash the tits off ya motors day in day out, save money by buying a good quality fully synthetic oil, and put ya changes back up to the factory 10,000k. My 2c (starts putting on flame retardant suit)
  18. Spotted a yellow 34 Skyline south on M1 around 1:30pm. JPS-34 i think. Gave a . Nice ride !
  19. I looked up Mystery Rd on google maps and it sure looks steep. Will give it a go this weekend. I'll keep an eye out for your S1 too ! Anyone on here ever driven around "The Panorama" @ Tallai (Mudgeeraba) ? My parents live around there and it has the best views @ the top of the Gold Coast. You can hear alot of bikers on the weekend giving it a good run. Nice long steep hill, good corners, great fun !
  20. This might explain why I have had a couple of random cars flash me in Nerang and wave ! I have been visiting Mt Tamborine for the last 5 sundays straight now. Always seems to be around 4-6'sh. Love that cool air up there. Went down a road that takes you back to oxenford. Would of been fun, except some people where really making use of the "sunday driver" term......... I love the hairpins on that "goat track" road with the stop light section for the one lane. Damn it.... I wanna go back there already
  21. Well that has put a big grin on my face !
  22. In relation to the LSD and how do you know if you have it question, I have found that in the RS4-S, i can hear the LSD when turning 90 degrees up and out of our underground carpark. I am only doing 5 kph or less and can simply hear the inner tyre going "chirp chirp chirp chirp". Hope this helps !
  23. Running a hks super sequential plumb back and located QLD.
  24. I have noticed a very similar thing in my rs4s. It goes up to 12psi, then once it gets to roughly 5000rpm, tapers down to 10psi. I fitted an autometer boost gauge to get more accurate readings. At first i thought it was from having std dump pipe on the 3"catback, so i got the JJ stainless dump, and it's still there. I am running a Turbosmart Manual bleed and from what i have read, nothing short of an EBC will sort it out. I am currently looking into the jaycar kit. Hope i am on the right path !
  25. I have not yet been up or down Mystery Road yet, but have been making it almost a weekly habit to head through Mt Warren Park and up the Tamborine mountain from there. I might sound a bit silly here, but maybe it's cause I am still learning the car, but it is actually "difficult" to do the speed limit (60) through there. Some of those bends are very tight !! Back on topic, I average 620klms till the fuel light comes on when I am mainly HWY driving 100-110klms + some 60 zones, school zones (all part of the daily drive). If I have alot of onsite jobs during the day, I can sometimes see only 500-520 till the light comes on. And under both circumstances I still give it a bootfull here and there Cheers Jez
