  1. I will bring it all then. Pete, if you can let us know when you find out if there will be a tyre machine there. 2 more sleeps:wassup:
  2. I think it is the best idea as I hate changing wheels, so having the right tools will make it easier. Pete, Will the pit garages be open for us to use ? If so I put my dibbs on one.:headspin:
  3. Pete, Will there definatly be a tyre machine there on the day ? I was also thinking of bringing my trailer with compressor, rattle gun and spare tyres. Is this needed (compressor) ? I CAN't WAIT for Saturday:wassup:
  4. Is anyone bringing a compressor and rattlegun ? We need to make sure its easy to change the tyres. Does anyone have a airjack ? It pays to be prepaird
  5. I will be there, but not racing. Just look for the bunch of XR6 Turbo's.
  6. For drifting....a tyre is only stuffed when either: 1. IT goes bang 2, The steel belts are hitting the guards All other rubber should be donated to the smoke gods Go team fatboy !!!
  7. agreed, buy a puller they are much easier
  8. Pete you are a lightweight. Im pushing 140kegs now:Oops: But I have 240+rwkw to get me sideways:kick:
  9. Glad I had the missus with me as it was a no show event. We had a nice dinner anyhow.....
  10. Me and the missus wil be there:wassup:
  11. I would be gentle on the F6 clutch as Motor fried 2 of them. The car got kicked out of PCOTY because they kept frying clutches. The XR6 Turbo is a great big fast taxi. For $9k in mods I can have a 10sec taxi:wassup:
  12. I can tell you that restricting P platers is only the begining when it comes to crashes like this. Our government (local/State/Federal) are very well known for knee jerk reactions. Expect cops to pull over ALL skylines with P plates and give you a rectal exam, while slapping a phonebook of defects all over your cars. The politicians and lobiests will be screeming for the cops to react and THEY WILL. Then they will come back to the pollies and say we busted xxx skyline P platers and got $xxxxxx in fines....that will teach them....yeah right :flamed: If you own a Skyline and are on your P's, expect the next 3 months to be your worst nightmare. /rant on The problem with the way the idiot pollies and groups with agenders relating to road safety is, they will always take the easy option and appear to be doing something to solve the problem. They say its young drivers, etc causing the crashes and deaths on our roads, now while this may be true on paper the problem is not just young drivers. Why do the pollies put power restrictions, curfews and advance driver training ??? Beacuse it is easy and will keep the general population happy that they are doing something. They can say that "3000 young drivers have completed their advanced driver training", all I can say to that is BIG F'ken DEAL. The problem needs to be addressed from all levels of drivers. Make everyone complete an advanced driver test, a standard drivers teast (same as P's), Eyesight test and a road rules knowlage test in the next 5 years or loose your license until you do. I would bet 50% of people would fail at their first attempt, because they a useless complacient dumb fcuks. Maybe after they redo their licenses again they may start to realise that just because they have had a license for the past 20+ years does not make them a good driver, and they learn there is more to driving than pushing pedals and moving a wheel and looking at what is 10ft in front of their car. /Rant over I do not have any respect for drivers that take their lives and their loved ones lives into their hands in a fast car with ego 1000x their driving ability. I feel very sorry for the families that are left to pick up the pieces 4 days from christmas
  13. I have read all the threads from people who were at the accident and it looks like it was an "accident" caused by a biker close to the center line leaning into the corner and being clipped by a car close to the center line going in the other direction. Apparently the rider was in shorts and a T shirt and also did not have his helmet properly buckled. It is sad for his family that he was killed, but he should hae been wearing his protective gear, as apparently it might have saved his life.
  14. Count me in for the 30th. I could not make it today as I have Shingles (adult chickenpox) See you all at roseville.
  15. I hate to break it to you guys, but ANYTHING that is not stock can technically be defected unless you have a full engineers approval. This can include pods, zorst, intercoolers or any a/m ECU's. The cops can make life difficult or easy, it depends on the cops and the attitude of the person being pulled over. My brand new XR6Turbo could be defected because I have a sports airfilter & Unichip installed as its not stock. I would think that at least 30% of cars on the road could be defected, its just that imports have a bad name and imports driven by P platers have DEFECT ME written all over them. It is not always fair, but its life.:flamed:
  16. Thanks for the replies people. I would be looking for something that could be used in improved production or Sports Sedans , the only problem is I cannot prove a long recent history of open motorsport events. I also do not have my CAMS license anymore as I have not been active in motorsport for several years due to work. The minister of War and Finance has given me the green light to look for a car that can be used in open events, so that we can spend some company money on sponsorship. I was hoping to get a fully race prepped car that is "different" to anything currently racing in Oz. I would like to get a old GT car or similar. I will give DOTRS a call to find out if it can be imported by a workshop and also find out more about what type of history in motorsport I need. I somehow do not think private practice or Fatz/Carlo drive days count.
  17. I have tried searching the forums about importing a racecar from Japan, but cannot find any information. I expect that Racecars would be available just like the roadcars that everyone is bringing in. I have no plans to try to ever register an imported racecar, it will only be used for motorsport. I am looking at spending about AU$20k landed for a RWD car for club events. Can anyone point me in the direction of jap sites that sell used racecars ? Can anyone give me any advise on do's and don'ts of getting a racecar from Japan ? Thanks Mal
  18. Glad you finally sold the GTiR. The new owner is getting a great car that was well loved. Nice pics of the GTR.....I will take up an offer to drive that beast:wassup:
  19. God I remember that event. I did it 16 years ago in a twin cooper S engined GoGo mobile. I did not know it was still running. The funny thing is that there was a blue torana Sports sedan in Duncan's video that looks like my old car.....ahh memories....I need to get back on the track:wassup:
  20. There is a silver on in this months Unique Auto magazine. Around $47k from memory
  21. Bang for your buck is great with the F6 or XR6T. While they are derived from a family car, they are built to a budget. You cannot compare a F6 with a 10yo skyline as they are totally different cars build for a different buyer. I can carry 5 adults and luggage and still blow the doors of most road cars. While I would swap it for a R33 4 door GTR in a flash, it does the job for me. Aside from the build quality they are a great car, but you will not find better for under $60k.
  22. THAT SUCKS. I am beyond Pissed, I had the day all arranged, now I will have to work.
  23. They deny there is a problem or say its normal. Ford service SUCKS:kick:
  24. Two problems with your statement: 1.No real mechanics work for Ford, they are all just apprentices and lube operators. They do not know a gearstick from a dipstick. 2. You mate is wrong, the F6 runs 9psi boost, not 14psi.
  25. I got my confirmation letter from ARDC, so I will see you there.
