  1. hi interested. I'll call you sat. morning otherwise. I need to get my station wagon to pickup stuff though. 0411 688 312 T.
  2. Any company who starts throwing around legal threats on an relatively anonymous forum needs to speak to their legal representatives first. I'm sure anyone with half a brain knows this is a standard 'straw man' threat. Make it clear what the implications are when you decide to reinsure with a non-Australian underwriter - if it's not a worry, tell us why. T.
  3. I'll take the front bar and tyres. Where are you located? T.
  4. I find steering in the Skylines to be top notch. Simple speed sensitive rack and pinion so I'm not sure if the brace was such a big difference. Still, I'd rather it be there than not be there. T.
  5. The last thing these dealers want is an educated buyer. I reckon the majority of their business is towards wood ducks who can swing a packaged finance deal. T.
  6. Does it make a difference at all? I got my rice bar for v.cheap and it seems to spend its time rubbing on my TB and provides a space to display my stickers. T.
  7. This is 15 year old imports? T.
  8. It should be just touching the master cylinder. I use a Cusco brace and the stopper has just enough room to slide in a sheet on A4. That's it. T.
  9. Not on Skylines but it was true on the early Turbo 700 automatic boxes on VN/VP Commodores. T.
  10. Like most autos, OD off is pretty much de rigeur in normal 50/60 zoned urban areas. Normal electric, quasi-hydraulic autos really do not have enough smarts to manage OD properly in urban driving. Now high tech 'smart' 5 speed autos are something else... T.
  11. I think GT wings are also illegal. It only takes one bad incident to bring it to the attention of the police. A while back a GT wing came off a car in an accident and severely injured a bystander. The police cracked down. Then they went back to blow off valves and pods. I think it'd take something like a carbon bonnet to shatter and hurt (stab?) someone and then the police will go on a rampage. But until then they'll ignore you. God knows I just can't get pulled over in my little defectmobile lately... T.
  12. Sounds like a plan. I would imagine people who want to run on the 16th will want to move a bit earlier to get some early morning tracktime? T.
  13. The E46 M3 is still very expensive($100,000+) The choice for the E36 M3 is the 1997+ 3.2 litre six speed manual box. Early ones like a 1994 3.0 litre, 5 speed is ok. AVOID ALL SMG boxes. These are not the real deal. But I have a bit of a problem paying $65,000+ or whatever for a 2nd hand car of that age. And the repairs can only be done at a BMW dealer. I'd rather go safe and get a new or near new Falcon XR6T or a Mazda RX8. T.
  14. It depends on what you want from a car. There are some who say that the GT-R is the way to go. I can understand that - it's a GT-R. It is also the most expensive option in just about every way. I truely believe that RWD is the way to go. You know that all these manufacturers who have stuck to the RWD platform must have something right. I also believe that simplicity and light weight is something missing in cars today. I can go with such things as airbags and ABS but I don't believe in intrusive technology like traction control. If you had a 180sx before, the S15 is probably too familiar in many ways. This is a Skyline forum so the 34 and the GT-R would likely get the nod but both cars have their drawbacks. Perhaps something more like an RX8 if your budget allows? T.
  15. Rolling guards is like making sausages, passing federal legislation or childbirth - you don't wanna be there when it happens. My car will be rolled and painted by the weekend so you guys should have an idea of a what a crap job looks like! T.
  16. I suspect there will be some top shelf footage when the Skylines hit Wakefield for a two day track orgy! T.
  17. With the big weekend coming up, we need to organise when we are meeting up on Sunday morning to cruise down to Goulburn. Had a very quick talk with Carlo/John this weekend and it's all thumbs up. Also perhaps some idea of accomodation at the motels down in Goulburn for people staying over? I had a talk with Goulburn Police for this weekend (don't ask!) and they'll leave us alone as long as we don't circle work or anything like that T.
  18. I've never seen an old car like a 33 not crack the paint - it's been upwards of a decade and the paint will NOT be soft and flexible. I had mine rolled and am about to have it sprayed. T.
  19. Oh I have a triple core radiator so zero heat issues here. T.
  20. Who is coming to this? It looks like it's going to be busy weekend as just about everyone is going for the whole two days. I've prepped my car even T.
  21. With the frequency of rain in Sydney, that's not too big a deal! The other way you can fix old lights is to get a smash repairer (someone you know preferably) to remove the light, use abrasive cleaner and polish and sand and respray the bottom of the light black. Of course the removal and labour is expensive which is why this is a DIY thing or unless you have a mate in the business. My mate said he'd do mine for $80 a pair but in the end, it is typical that I'd take the most labourious and expensive approach... T.
  22. There's only two cars I would contemplate - an AE86 Sprinter or an NA MX5. Or a Magna 3.5 V6 manual sedan or wagon or have a smoked too much crack there? Ok I'd go the 5 speed fuzzy brains auto. T.
  23. Yeah but he has all the qualifications for it... T.
  24. Sheer age. You have a 32? It's over a decade old. T.
  25. You're normal - that tallies with my PowerFC and cheapo Splitfire gauges. FMIC only cools the inlet charge - it does nothing to lower engine temp. Those temps would match say a hard-ish run in my car on a a 27c day. T.
