  1. Harlequin ("flip") You don't wanna hit anything because matching would be horrendous. T.
  2. This is just the fenders and it looks like it's for an R33. Out-a-luck for a 34 GT-t. T.
  3. Let's break down the costs... R34 GT-R carbon bonnet (say $1,200 - no paint) R34 Front bar + grille, your choice of whatever copy you want (say $800 for a C-West copy) R34 Lights (say $1,000 for orig. $2,000 for Xenon) R34 Fenders ($700 delivered) R34 Misc lights, front blinkers + sides (say $300) Painting would probably run $800 for front bar, both fenders + fitting. Minus... - original 33 bonnet - original lights + blinkers, sides x 2 - original bar + grille - original fenders x 2 T.
  4. Well I think we're amateurs compared to the rotor guys. It seems almost every early RX7 I come across with those hilarious 15 x 8" fatz seems to shoot big arse flames. T.

    Advan

I think I know who it is too! But be that as it may... I haven't spent too much at Advan (not a huge fan of his line) but everytime I go there *SOMEONE* has time to talk and give some advice. For a big name shop with some admittedly healthy prices I find it surprising because there are a lot of other places that don't want to know unless you're willing to stump the cash. T.
  6. I drive my one 15km to work (maybe 20-30mins in peak) - 30km a day. Benm drives his for 5 mins a day! I find fuel consumption quite ok for what is a high performance car. A worked RB25 will run thru the petrol almost like a big car (eg. BA Falcon). I find maintenance to be cheaper than a comparable 10 year old car because of wreckers and the general 'VL Commodore-ness' of the RB. Try a GT-R as a daily... then you will know what 'runnings costs' truly means. T.
  7. I think most people know that a very select number of 34's came with *ONE* shade of the magic purple used on the 33. But I heard these were very small in number and I don't think any left Japan unlike a handful of M-Spec Nur 34's. T.
  8. Rear end would need rolling in most 17 x 9 offsets. T.
  9. GT-R Brembos aren't a GREAT upgrade. They are straight fit though. IMO it's better to go with six pot calipers upfront like Wilwood etc. T.
  10. Can be hidden in places like closer to wheel wells in some Skylines. Cops wouldn't find it though. T.
  11. The trim is slightly different 32/33/GTS/GTR but they are all pretty close. Four bolts per seat and you're done. T.
  12. Ebbro far and away the most accurate metal models for the price. They cannot be compared to AutoArt or whatever models you might seen for $30 or so. Even this 34 is slightly inaccurate in some areas. The only better ones I've seen are handmade European models that run $250+ and are one-offs. T.
  13. This is Andrew's silver 34: http://www.ebbro.com/catalogue2004/Premium...ilver/index.htm Not due for release until June. $142.50 at current exchange rates, I expect $200 from any GST paying store. I'm quite fond of the little s2000, a snip at $110 (smaller, older car). Bah! These are such expensive toys. T.
  14. You've just described all turbo cars off boost. The Continental GT is one of those superdooper cars like a Murcielago or Vanquish - sounds like a Supermarine Spitfire on the road. T.
  15. http://www.ebbro.com/catalogue2004/Premium.../Blue/index.htm http://www.ebbro.com/catalogue2004/Premium...Blue/index2.htm http://www.ebbro.com/catalogue2003/Premium/index.htm For those who are too lazy to futz with glue/paint. I expect $150 - $200! btw. how come on of the numberplate fog lights is red, one white? T.
  16. Can you tell me where the hell this was (so I can avoid it like the plague)? T.
  17. May have to budget in new carpet - dunno what the hell you're standing on. T.
  18. Knock sensors are only dumb 'microphones'. Any sort of 'knock' (ie. bad roads) can register. So in normal driving, I get 7-8-9. For full power hits, 14-15. T.
  19. Those neons really make the car. T.
  20. Tell me your MPG and I'll beat you no problems When I had my motor rebuilt I ran it for 2,000km before a dyno tune. It had the old road tune on the maps already. Can was extremely terrible on fuel early on - like as if friction were high (???) and things need bedding in. I had a Bosch 44 fitted and the car was terribly surgey... like as if too much fuel. Ran it on a dyno, car went back to normal response. Did a thorough road tune via laptop, car is more surgey new, better response but fuel useage is dead on 'normal' for this type of car (ie. high but hardly worth a raise of the eyebrow). T.
  21. One thing is that large high mount external gate turbos are hardly stealth installs. Pop the bonnet and everyone, esp. cops will know the car is 'off its teats'. Also I note that many people love the high mounts and big gates so that they can run a screamer pipe that is also illegal. But to make serious hp - say around 300rwkW, you pretty much need an external gate system. T.
  22. PBR is pretty pricey. http://www.prbaustralia.com.au/ Clubmans are extremely quick. I'm quite certain that the Clubman in its more extreme incarnations (ie. SR20 or 4AG-ZE or maybe it was a Kwaka ZZR1100) does it around the 1 minute mark. I could almost swear that they ran under 1 min on slicks. I seem to remember some 2nd hand ones going every so often for under $20,000 but of course they all seems to be mild ones (ie. 4A-GE, live rear ends) - ie. an ok starting point. T.
  23. There's a few VERY nice 180's for sale every so often. I'd say $15,000 would get a very good, stockish SR20 5-speed. Closer to $20 gives you a bit more mods. I'd hate to say this but the Skylines do tend to 'insulate' you from the outside a bit much - a more 'raw' car like the S13 would be better from a learning standpoint. Pretty much just as fast, just as fun to drive. Screw bodykits... you're here to learn, not to cruise Chaps! Keep the body clean, put on some good tyres and cheap Aussie rims. Back seat room I found a LOT worse than the Skylines but so what? Not my problem... T.
  24. He didn't say what phone... If it's Nokia 5110 I'd take a dump on your Bride fixback for being unfashionable. Undoubtedly the business types there would be too busy with lunch to bother a bunch of druggos doing some creative rewiring. T.
