  1. There's probably some truth there... with the vast majority of teams based in the UK (Woking, Surrey is where I am!) I don't doubt that there's some concession to the other 'hard up' teams. I'd imagine the there's a bit of two faced behaviour to Ferrari from the Englanders. One thing though is that Ferrari are a very international team, only the top end is filled full of Neapolitans. T.
  2. single drivers' side for a 33... give him the price son T.
  3. 5 x 114.3 16 x 7.5 Fits r32/33 Skyline GTSt no problem. T.
  4. The problem is that Nissan are not a major force in Australia; especially with a niche car like the Skyline. I don't think the old R32 series of sedans and coupes were 'right sized' or 'technologically simple enough for us back in 1989. The VN/EA Commodores were one size up and what is one to make of DOUBLE overhead cams and 24 valves in a little straight six??? Clearly these cars were a generation ahead of what Australians were acustomed to. Oh they can sell Pulsars and whatnot but look at the old S14 200sx. This was my dream car back in 1994 or whatever. It was $40,000! How much would a 1994 R33 GTSt be??? $60,000? I feel that as much as people slag off the R32/33 Skylines, they are extremely well appointed cars even for today and if they were sold locally there would be no way so many of us could afford them. So I'm glad they weren't sold here or I'd be in Falcodore Hell. T.
  5. I don't necessarily agree that one team domination is 'boring' per se. We've seen McLaren in the past but there were TWO drivers at the same level, not the ONE man domination as it is now. T.
  6. http://www.saleen.com/auto/S7/s7.htm Also I'd note that Steve Saleen looks like a maths teacher or a social worker. T.
  7. These models are not the expensive in the scheme of things - Kyosho and Autoart large scale 1/18 - 1/24 units are around $100. Burago/Maisto is about half that but you must remember that these companies are very Eurocentric so there's not much in the way of Japanese models. T.
  8. On the 20/25/26, the wheel is in excess of 10kg, prob. as much as 12kg. T.
  9. As long as Schumacher is driving, it's a dead bore. T.
  10. You have a nice car there, the sort of car people would be proud to say it's their main car. Owning two cars though can result in TWO sources of headaches. If owning a Skyline makes one thing clear, it's that the Skyline is a car about BIG engineering, ie. BIG tyres, BIG wheels, BIG fuel needs. Once you step down to a smaller car, you realise how things that cost $200 on a Skyline, costs $100 due to the fact you don't need the biggest or best. I never stall my car even with the clutch but many people who drive it, even mechanics stall it so you're not alone. I so wish for a small RWD car that can carry four people and a load and still give you a good sense of acceleration and handling. T.
  11. As with anything, you pay for what you get. I have a fleet of Ebbro Skylines and if you wonder why these things costs $60-$120 apiece well they are miles ahead of other 1:43 scale models. Sure you can get made in god knows where metal models for $5 apiece but they aren't accurate so what is the point? T.
  12. Japanese flywheels do get around the 4kg mark. I seem to remember that the Toda 25/26 wheel is around 4.5kg or so. T.
  13. You need to have it sprayed and how much is that? Bonnet lift is shoving some washers under the bonnet hinges so that the rear edge of the bonnet is raised for that sick drift look. It's more look that anything else. T.
  14. Don't believe all those best motoring videos. Fact of the matter is that they stack the drivers and grid order. It's clear that given enough money, both the EVO and STI could take any GT-R on almost any track simply because HP isn't too much of a problem from modern 2.0 litre fours and the 4wd system and lighter body is an advantage over the heavier GT-R. The GT-R was never designed to run against the EVO/STi - park an EVO next to an R34 and it's clear to anyone. The EVO and STi are rally specials. When was the last time the GT-R hit the dirt? T.
  15. I use a Serck Marston and Earl remote locator sandwich/lines - all non Japanese. The parts are pretty cheap. Total cost was less than any Japanese unit. T.
  16. I saw Jim's install and I reckon I would knock it with my knee everytime I scratched my balls. I'm not too enamoured with the ricey blue AVC-R screen - I have mine for quick display in my glovebox. T.
  17. Those forged Enkei rims were specifically designed for the R34. There's a red R34 featured in HPI with those in white, T.
  18. But let me show you how hypocrytical these 'lawmakers' are. They want to make front plates compulsory on bikes so that they can do front on speed camera readings. So much for 'safety'. T.
  19. Does anyone know where to get these? They guys I talked to were more into Honda/Lancer rice bits and they said they could get RB models. T.
  20. Apex RX6 http://www.apexi.co.jp/products/turbo/isa26dett.html Trust T517z http://www.trust-power.com/02greddy/turbine.html T.
  21. The dampers are ~$200. They are available from select rice shops. T.
  22. S/R/Z tune bits as well. I was looking for specs for the LM GT1/2/3/4 series wheels and I stumbled across this: http://www.ooparts-international.co.jp/ind...ismo/index.html http://www.ooparts-international.co.jp/ind...nr32/index.html http://www.ooparts-international.co.jp/ind...nr33/index.html http://www.ooparts-international.co.jp/ind...nr34/index.html Wheel LM-GT MAG 40300-RN705-W Magnesium alloy Forged 1 pieces 5 Spokes type / 18×10.0J OFF +20 W=7.75Kg / Tire size : 275/35-18 196,500 yen That's $2,620 apiece at 75 yen. (!!!) T.
  23. Unless you're made of cash and want to stick plate number "360" on your F360 Stradale, I think the market is very limited. T.
  24. Almost every big company has a 32/33/34 GT-R that is their company demonstrator. I'm wondering whether we should list the pages that shows the listings for these cars. Mines' 32/33/34: http://www.mines-wave.com/democar.html http://www.mines-wave.com/ Signal's R34: http://www.signalauto.co.jp/6_9R34SPEC.html and their sexual s15 strawberry 180sx because: http://www.signalauto.co.jp/4_28DRIFTSPEC.html Tomei's Drag R34: http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogu...rag-r_rset.html http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogu...3_index_fr.html Your turn! T.
  25. Hmmm... That's maybe Recaro in Australia (Roman Auto?) - the JDM Recaro SR3 has a universal R32/R33 rail. T.
