  1. the bit of plastic that goes between the wheels and the front bar. and the brake ducts screw to the bottem of it. you can see the rhs inner guard in the pic.

  5. oh no it's super secret RE55S, unfortinatully the video dosn't show the road condition at the end of the stage. Basicly from just after the chicane when it goes down hill. The road had been cold sealed like a week before the event, so there was bluemetal all over it. just on cameras, my diy bullet cam and sd recorder arrived the other day, and i'm not sure which angle i want. benhind the driver: over the bonnet:

  7. just finised recce, 1100km today (day 4 & 5 together). Looks like there is a few people down here doing the same, there were quite a few rent a cars, and mainland cars that keps appearing in targa stages. Mt Black and Roseberry are bloody slippery in the wet we're taking the car for a run at Symmons tomorrow. It'll be the first time it's driven in anger since targa last year.

  9. all i want to do is cut the speakers off the terraphone, and replace with earbuds. Bluetooth system seems easy for the future though.
  10. Has anyone ran earbuds for incar comms? My helmate dosn't have cavities around the ears, so after acouple of days the big plastic terrapone speakers get pretty uncomfertable. these look alright, but not real cheep.   11. not really, should get the car back around Targa. Depends if the cage builder's Targa car needs time. The engine is at peices at the engine builder, we'll probably be asking them to start putting it back together soon, so we can drop it in the car when it's back with a cage
  12. do you know if the R32 and R33 Kansai controllers are interchangable? We've got one in the R33 and it's not needed, and I want to put it in my car.
  13. took the car to get the cage built tonight.
  14. Got the Traqmate wired in by Damo last night, everything is logging properly...but when the unit is connected, the tacho dosn't work, so I need to see how to fix that. Appart from that I just need to put the side intrusion bars in, and nav seat in on friday, and it's ready for the test at Symmons on Tuesday. Not going to get time to work on it tomorrow after work, cause we're taking the other gt-r to get the cage put in it. I drove the car back from the workshop tonight, and with 1 muffler gone, and no interior, the car is realy loud. Sounds awsome....don't know if it still will by the end of the event though
  15. i just did mine, getting the subframe out is the easy part. getting the frame line up, and braced under the press is the shithouse part.
  16. 1 1/2 days of heatgun + scraper, then cleaning up with petrol did the job. What do you need dry ice for? isn't the mrs doing it for you I'll be interested to see how much ligher the car is.

A local circuit guy here in a R32 Gts-t (350rwkw, hollenger seqentual....etc), he got ABS of a VS Commo installed on it, and he recons in 2 race meets it payed for it self in saved tyres (and he's a Dunlop R dealer). Dosn't help that Baskervill is like driving on a off road corse. Duncan: I've worked on a std R33, R33 V-spec, and R33 V-spec N1, and they are all 3 channel.
  18. I think a R32 -> R33 ABS upgrade would be worth it. My R32 with big brakes locks the wheels, R32 just seems to be to slow to pick up diferences in wheel speed. But I think the R33 works reay well (granted it's only 3 channel), but where the R32 will lock up/have big wheel speed diferences, the R33 will pulse for like 1/2 a sec to stop this. I'm not sure if that makes sence, but i know what i mean I'm wonding if R32 -> R33 ATTESSA/ABS will be any cheaper/easier than R32 -> R34?
  19. spend the day working on the car today. Removed the interior, the car had full carpets, even still had the rear seat belts. I pulled the cage, all carpets, seat belts, and all plastics out today. Dad cbf waiting till monday to get dry ice, so he's removing the tar with a heat gun.
  20. one of our service crew got his apendix ripped out yesterday. So he's now useless (doctors orders), so you could crew for us if you wanted Damo.
  21. most i've spoken too are banking on it being mostly wet. my guess we will have 1 solid day of rain, but the weather is next to impossible to prodict atm.

  23. you getting some dms Ben? who wants to be Ben's replacment in team shake n bake? person must wanna go fant, and/or come and people like a spider monkey. if dad's picked the car up, i'll be ripping the interior out of the car this weekend. i'll recon i'll need to find the local dryice dealer to get the tar off (nice if one of the previos owners alread did it)
