  1. about sums it up
  2. the engine bay is shocking, looks like someone sprayed a garden hose of oil all over it
  3. This week I upgraded the oil cooler to a substantially larger one I also changed the lifters over, cause I'm sick of them rattling. Today was the state supersprint championships. I ended up 3rd overall, and 1st in class. I was only behind a 500rwkw supra, and 400awkw evo....But I once again only got a single run in. On the second last corner of the last lap, a hose blew off my oil cooler. I used proper earls pushlock fittings which are rated to 400psi, and the fittings have done a Targa, so it's a mystery why it came off. But the engine is dead
  4. that has been rattling long and hard, i'm surprised it lasted this long.
  5. The gearbox thing is the FIA's fault, they made the stupid rule, and it was only a matter of time before it was exploited.
  6. I pay $2.50/l for Powerplus
  7. I've heard that TurboMax is $13/l
  8. If you are losing engines "because" of E85 your are either using a dodgy brand of fuel (but from memory you were on powerplus which is very good), or your tuner needs to be replaced. On E85 my car can take so much timing it starts losing power (granted it's a RB20).
  9. You should ditch the booster, you will get much better brake feel. And you will need to run a R33/R34 Master Cylinder, the big rotors will give you a fair wack of pad knock off, and when your at the bottom of the mountain decent, it's nicer just to have to tap the brake pedal once to bring the pads back.
  10. I just looked on the Targa site, and if you click on live, you get to see where the cars are via RallySafe. Looks pretty cool
  11. Paul Ricard is just a big car park now. If they put grass and gravel on the outside of the track, we would see 90% of these stupid passes stop
  12. They did the whole field that way in Targa 2011, 1 aerial on the unit, and one stuck to the dash. I haven't done it yet, but I'm going to put some white vynal over the aerial to blend it into my roof. as long as it's not silver backed it won't effect the signal.
  13. Last time I ran rallysafe the antenna was just put on the dash board.
  14. I don't run a rallysafe on the roof, but I do run the antenna for my data logger on the roof. Drill the smallest hole you can to fit the arial hex end through (8mm i think). run the cable through, then seal it with sika, it even comes in the right colour for your car
  15. I'd forgotten how rubbish the track was. Pitty they couldn't go to Spa for an international round.
  16. Another event, and another niggling problem. I got a single run in on the Ledgerwood lane hillclimb, and then the oil filter started leaking. Looks like it got pinched, and decided to start leaking. Luckily the car didn't run out of oil. Before the event I bought 2 lengths of dowl from Bunnings, and gave it it's first wheel alignment in 2 years. But in good news the car was quick straight out of the box, and was only 0.2 secs behind Greg Garwood in his 997 GT2 Porsche Targa car
  17. I can't see Honda being a big powerhouse since they've been out of the sport for 5 years (by 2014). If anything Cosworth should come good, since they have current turbo experience with Indy and current F1 experience
  18. Do you want another car for your group a collection?
  19. what do you need to freshen up on the engine?
  20. Just go to Melb for the race, then you don't need to watch 10's coverage. But seriously there is a lot of downtime at the track, hence why they have to pad it out with crap.
  21. He's done plenty of circuit racing including coming 2nd overall at LeMans
  22. Refueling is done is heaps of categories all over the world. It's not really an issue. How many people have driven off with the refueling rig over the past 20 years? On another note, why does Grosjean have a superlicence while Loab was blocked from getting one?!?!
  23. what pogo sticks you running
  24. you are best to balence the car from the first build. I didn't put a pedalbox in mine cause i'm miserable, but i put the nav seat practicably in the back, which gave me a 56/44 weight distribution with driver and nav in (58/42 static). Most other gtst's are 60/40. The GT-R have better weight distrobution cause of the heavier rear end, box/transfer case etc. But your still best to move as much as you can as far back as you can. If you don't do it now, you never will
