  1. this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/278029-bens-r32-gtst-build/ and this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/308918-damos-r32-gts-r-on-going-project-fun-car-history-and-use-full-info/ It's good seeing all the motorsport builds in the one spot, lots that I had skipped over in the other section
  2. are the pistons domed or dished in the middle? it's hard to tell from the photo. You'd be best just to get Rodgers to reseat the valves, it's not that expensive, and it'll save you 11ty hundred hours
  3. When you measured the head did you put clear platic + grease over the combustion chamber for an accurate measurement? 0.8 will not give you 7cc, 86mm diamiter at 0.8 height gives you 4.6cc, so it will probably be 4cc by the time you equate for the sqish zones. I asked Rodgers to take 4cc out of Steves RB20 head (stock head is 40cc), and he wouldn't do it. He would only change the deck height on the block. He will be able to sort the piston though. I can't see valve clearance being an issue with the design of the rb30 piston, what is the volume of the piston dish? Use brake cleaner to test the valve seal before final reassembly, If you used it now it'd be alike a tsunami coming though.
  4. funnely enough my uncles new super sedan engine lasted 2 laps on boxing day.... it was machined by the same people....as was my old head which failed
  5. I thought Helen was Bensons mrs? anyway good to hear he's ok, not everyday you walk away from a plane crash
  6. N1 oil pump? some billet gears will fix that.
  7. what do the big ends look like? Has it marked the crank?
  8. I saw on FB that Gibson Motorsport have reformed to prep the old cars http://www.gibsonmotorsport.com.au/
  9. just the bearing. My bearing was absolutely rooted, and my hub assembly was still fine.
  10. I bought 2 of these, and they fitted fine
  11. I was talking about GT-R ECU's. On the Haltech, you can run a Platinum Pro for the R32/R33, and that will plug straight in.
  12. R32 and R33 ECU's are identicle. The PFC has got about 5 different versions, no feature changes just different manufacturing techniques. If you run a GT-R PFC you need to mod the airflow maps to suit the single AFM. Not hard to do if your tuner has the Datalogit software
  13. aren't you keeping the rb26 covers?
  14. The current ones are 2 piece, but i've also killed a set of single piece ones. they are the softest part on the front suspension, so it's understandable that they are the first to fail under circuit loads
  15. either whiteline or nultec. Mark and Russ in the time attack R32 told me the same thing about poly bushes
  16. The car has always eaten caster rod bushes, I will probably go back to std nissan bushes
  17. 5 laps of Symmons did this to both my caster rod bushes
  18. Fuchs oil saved the day! only damage was bigend bearing #1 started to come apart, but it didn't spin, and didn't mark the crank. So all I need to do is replace the bearings and it's good to go
  19. If your running twin pressure pumps you will suck the surge tank dry. You would be best to put a cooler in the return line to the surge tank. Another good option that a lot of cars are taking up down here, is a low level light for the surge tank. It's good protection against a lift pump failure.
  20. The passing under yellow is the most basic rule in motorsport. I've seen people DQ post race at local meets for passing under yellow. Vettal may be a multiple champion, but he still doesn't have his head screwed on, he yells abuse at his engineer when everything isn't going his way, and he thinks he's above the most basic motorsport rule in the world. If it was McLaren protesting you would all be doing cartwheels, and saying what a great idea it was.
  21. GTR lift pump and 044 pressure pump
  22. I return my fuel to the main tank and havn't had any pressure problems
  23. no easy way round the fuel thing. AFR or Fuel pressure are the only ways to monitor the problem, but either way the warning light needs some smarts. eg needs to know what lambda should be at a given load/rpm point, ot be able to calculate what the fuel pressure should be at a given boost level. Gauges are good, but realisticly you can't read them while racing. I found that on the weekend when I finished a super sprint and my dash had a big fat 0 next to oil pressure. My warning light didn't go off because it didn't config it properly!!11!1
  24. An auto might not have been flogged, but it's probably done 3 laps of the world on the delivery oil.
  25. Yep it was Rodgers. Sherriff tuned it during the week, 497rwkw unopened 2j with cams and turbo. I've used push lock a fair bit, all my fuel system is done with it, and i've done other coolers with it. But I've always used speedflow fittings in the past, and mine was the only time i've used earls ones. I don't really rate them. I hate stainless braid with a burning hate, it's shit to work with, and it rubs through anything it goes near.
