  1. nice. Running the plazman?
  2. td05 is small isn't it? most people run td06-20g
  3. I use Brad from boost, and wouldn't go anywhere near anyone else in Launceston. Tuned my GT-R 6 years ago with it's unopened 1989 engine, got over 300rwkw. Since then it's done a heap of circuit and road work, and never had a problem. he also tunes my racecar on E85 with has never had a problem related to his work. There is no need to get tuners from the mainland, there is enough capable people in tassie. I've seen plenty of shit work on cars that have gone to reputable workshops on the mainland.
  4. I havn't got it to a round yet, too busy fixing engines and paying bills after Targa
  5. dropping the sump in the engine bay isn't fun. You will need to undo the mounts and lift the engine to get it past the pickup. onyl 7000rpm!! the poor engine
  6. what's oil pressure like atm? If the bearing clearences open up too far, no amount of spring pressure on the releaf valve will help. Once the sump is off shimmig up the spring is easy, just a 24mm socket.
  7. why not use a local tuner
  8. unless you need more oil pressure I wouldn't worry about it. I only did it because I put too small restictor in, and was starving the head....and to use launch control without smashing the pump to peices. It will go straight onto a std crank, but too much oill pressure, and it will try and it will try and turn the drive off the crank. Just leave your wrecker motor sealed, and throw 30psi at it.
  9. does he coach lewis hamilton?
  10. if the wheels are still attached to the turbo it can make more boost
  11. You were keen trying E85 on GTR injectors, my 800's are at 87% with E85 (std perssure). The 290kw RB20 was running 550cc with an extra 14psi of fuel pressure, and they were maxed.
  12. interesting, any idea what the cam timing ended up at?
  13. Unless your AFM is maxed out it won't be a restiction. How much timing are you running? on E85 it sould be in the range of 25-28deg. A circuit car down here made 290rwkw with a stock 20, and one of GCG's internal gated GT3071r on a standard ex manifold with E85. Might be time to get a nice modern Garrett.
  14. yes, yes it was. But it did drive a lot better than it looks it would
  15. Here is my dyno. Stock RB20 with RB26 inlet (short runners), and RB20 highflow (close to gt2871 core in RB20 housing) You must be cursed roy
  16. I havn't seen any proof that cams do anything for a 20. From what I have tested and observed the inlet manifold is more of a restriction. A 20 down here has had a big prot job, and poncams and falls over at 7300rpm (GT3071r). My 20 with short runners, std everything else, and a RB20 highflow holds it power to 8000rpm. 20's already have big cams for the size of the engine. You wouldn't want anything bigger than a poncam, as I know they flow enough for 10,000prm and 550rwkw on a 25. The exhaust side on the 20 head can do with some loving, I took heaps out of the exhaust ports. On the onlet side I only cleaned up the casting marks. I changed too many things at a time to know if it made a difference though.
  17. Each brand is different. I run 30psi hot on my Dunlop's, any higher than that and I chew the centres out of them
  18. really? i've had the battery go flat heaps of times and never had a currupted file
  19. we got a pic in unique cars mag this months.
  20. The only way you'll get weight out of the door is to cut out the side impact bars... which isn't a fun job
  21. Did you get any footage of damo's car?
  22. The Nissan electric winder is light, the only reason you would ditch it is to fix the windows in place.
  23. Personly I think showroom should be as the car rolled off the showroom floor, with a cage, ecu (to stop limp home, speed limiters...etc), basic shocks/springs, and possably the mufflers cut out so they sound better.... like the frogmobile I can't go into Mazda and get a 3 MPS with front floating Brembo's, and a Kaaz diff. I can see why Octagon gives the consessions out to fix the road cars problems, but it's getting away from what showroom was a couple of years ago.
  24. Might open showroom up to some actual showroom cars if the MPS leaves
