  1. Lulz. Notsureifsrs...
  2. That looks like satin black to me. There are actually a few different levels of paint with regards to reflection, it goes flat>matte>satin>semi-gloss>full-gloss.
  3. Haha yes, I've done mine in the mean time too. Did it over the space of about 5 weeks, but did the fuel system as well.
  4. You must live in an area with 0 insect population
  5. How did it go!? Amazing the things that just continue to go wrong when it comes to gettin a car on a dyno...
  6. Looking awesome Nick, it's changed so much since the last time I saw it in person! By the way, where did you get your stuff powdercoated?? Looking to get my rocker covers done but haven't found a place in Perth who will do small jobs like that...
  7. Exactly. Matte paint works by intentionally having imperfections in the paint that refract the light, reducing shine. Polishing the paint would fill in those imperfections and leave you with, as you said, a patchy paint job.
  8. Might be able to get it done for 5k if it's just panels. Doing a proper job, including removing all glass and trim and spraying inside, there's no way you'll get it done for below 6k. And let's be honest, getting a matte black paint job done without getting the insides/engine bay done would look pretty terrible.
  9. Then you've pretty much lost your weight advantage anyway, so there's no point harping on about 32's being lighter. They will still be a bit lighter, but not anything that's going to win you any races. I like 34's. That's why I have one. /thread.
  10. Why are you always WAY nicer to me when the other SAU'ers aren't around?
  11. For a good job? Anywhere between 6-10k. I'd be leaning towards the higher end of that scale. Resprays aint cheap.
  12. Even 10 minutes is a lot of overkill. 1 minute is plenty.
  13. OP... Buy a motorbike.
  14. Eh? Did I call it or did I call it?
  15. Well what do you want from it? There is hardly a 'best' turbo car, because it all comes down to opinion and what you want from it, etc.
  16. Not at all, but that is when I would leave the thread and not care where it goes from there. I mean where is the satisfaction in someone else's engine failing? Seems a bit petty.
  17. Well what do you consider accurate? The only thing a narrowband gauge will ever do is flick from lean to rich. Off the top of my head, the sensors operate between 0.4v and 0.8v; but will typically be at around 0.45v. If it's not showing over 0.5v, you may have a stuffed sensor, or the gauge you are using is junk, which wouldn't surprise me. If you are getting any semblance of decent fuel economy, then it won't be a stuffed sensor.
  18. He did specify at the wheels.
  19. And yet you seem to be rather butthurt about being called a douchebag? I just don't see why you care. He's the one 'wasting' money, so let him.
  20. There is quite a big difference between 360 and 400 though, so make sure you decide which one you want to aim for. You might be able to get 360rwhp from a HG highflow, but you won't get 400 and achieve anything near decent response. If you want 400 and are willing to consider the other HG turbos, the SS2 has been netting some very impressive results. I think you will find that with the HG thread, there had been a lot of moaning and complaining from us customers not making expected numbers early on. But more recently, these same people have been getting our setups sorted out and we are starting to make the numbers. Have a look through the RB25 dyno thread as well, the SS2 has been pulling the numbers and has very good response. The G3 is also making numbers, but is down a bit on response.
  21. That's exactly what I'm trying to tell myself about getting the Link installed now, rather than later. The soreness of the wallet makes it a bit hard though
  22. Lol dude, the picture you posted was hardly helpful.
  23. Tis true, the NIStune is a good option I agree. Just food for thought. How much would you charge to do the Adaptronic? I was quoted $650-$750 to install/tune my Link plug in. Also have to factor in IAT sensor. So if the Adaptronic is similar, then you're looking at what, $1800 installed, tuned, everything? If the NIStune is $1350 tuned, and the OP decided he wanted more power and needed to get the Z32 AFM as well, that makes it between $1600-$1800? Depending on the price of the Z32 as well as installation, etc. And that's only if he decides to get the Z32 done at the same time as everything else, if he changed his mind later and needed to get it done then that adds another $400 or so for a retune? Whatever way you spin it, the NIStune is probably going to be the cheaper option. But if it's only ~$200 cheaper...
