  3. Thanks mate, your times weren't too shabby either I think my vids highlight how average the GTR handles without a decent suspn setup particularly with turn-in. There are about 3 corners where it is a real struggle to get the R to turn in - when it didn't my brain told me to keep turning the wheel even though it wouldn't actually help it turn any better LOL I also need to try and keep my hands in the 9 and 3 positions but I'm scared my girly like arms won't do much once the wheel is past the 1 and 7 positions At least your slide near 'oh sh1t' was BEFORE the crest mine was after down the rollercoaster section
  4. Two of my fastest runs at Haunted Hills over the weekend: Bit too much steering lock in a couple of corners but without sorted suspn the GTR just didn't want to turn in!
  5. Ok it appears there is a diff between uploading wmv and avi files. I managed to upload the avi's without youtube changing the aspect ratio..... Two of my fastest runs at Haunted Hills over the weekend:
  6. Thanks Dane. The thing is that I have edited the clips using windows movie maker with no dramas. I can play the edited clips and the aspect ratio is spot on. However when I uploaded these clips to youtube they have been squashed to a 4:3 ratio.
  7. I asked the same question in the Vic section with no response as yet.....advice for youtube noob. I have a vid that has an aspect ration of 720x576 yet when I upload it it appears as 4:3. How do I keep the aspect ration the same as the original file?
  8. Sorry to read about the dramas Matt. As for what you should do with the motor - that will depend on the coin you have to spend and the power that you want out of it. Sorry if it sounds like that not much help at all but that is what it comes down to. There is a list over a mile long of the mods you can do to these engines during a rebuild so what you end up with will be a balance between coin, power and reliability.
  9. Happy B'day guys! Hope you have a good day.
  10. Okay guys need a bit of help for a youtube noob. I am uploading a vid with an aspect ratio of 720x576, yet once it has uploaded it appears with a ration of around 4:3. Is there a way I can keep the aspect ratio as it was at 720x576?
  11. Some pics from a mate at the track.... that almost looks like I'm 3 wheeling
  12. WooHoo a new PB Ended up being a great day and congrats to everyone for driving within their limits. Was a bit worried when I arrived that the day would end up a wash out as it was heavily overcast and felt like it was about to rain. All we ended up with was a few spots of rain during the day and I ended up with sunburn....again Had a bit of a heart starter in the first session when I found out why so many cars have written themselves off at Oh Shit. Came over the crest turned into the kink to find out I was carrying a little too much speed - car stepped sideways, then tank slapped the otherway before I managed to straighten it for the next corner, all while going down that rollercoaster section! Needless to say I spent the rest of that run with a thumping heart rate while thinking I really didn't want to be that guy who writes off their car on the first session Anyway was wrapped with a new PB of 57.92 which put me in 4th overall. I will put the incar footage up of my two best runs where you can see how hard it it to get an unsorted GTR around some of those corners Oh and top pics Martin
  13. Very nice Troy and the plans to ship it OS for a bit of track work sounds like a dream come true.
  14. Thanks GMB but I still see my original time in the first PI post.....is there another post I should be looking at?
  15. Could not agree more Nick! As it happens I'm not doing the LA to LV trip as I don't have enough time to recover from a coke and hooker night....I am however trying to plan something else that is just as big just without the risk of STD's
  16. WTF?!? Sounds like the courts only get off their lazy a$$ when theres a death or damage to property involved
  17. Ok scratch the above re Hertz....turns out is was user error You had to click display all when looking at the car selection - turns out that the vettes are all sold out between those dates but the price seemed pretty good.
  18. Yeah like I said in my post above, I'm not sure whether I'm doing something wrong on the website, Hertiz don't offer the vette from LA or whether they are all booked out. Can someone else try the Hertz website to see if they can book a Vette through it - as per the original post the pick up is LAX and the dates are pickup 30/05/2010 and drop off 02/06/2010. I love the look of the new mustangs but most (if not all) of the Stangs they hire are 6's and that just wouldn't sit right with me Thanks Ash, will drop Matt a PM
  19. While the Veyron is tempting the $25k a day charge is a little steep....not that I expected any less . I was actually think more along the lines of an american muscle car (hey while in rome...). The bhrentacar website is easy to use and has the goods. Hertz on the other hand.....it is probably user error but no matter what I click I can't get the vette or the Mustang to come up :rage:. I've gone to the fun section and saved the vette as my choice but when I pick the dates and airport it does not appear in my list. Oh well might have to give them a call.
  20. Hi guys, Was looking at trying to find something a little special to hire in LA - the car variety, not the woman variety . I heard a while ago that Hertz got a special run of corvettes that they hire but I believe that has been discontinued Anyone got any ideas?
