  1. Basically you are perfectly entiltled to park there.....as long as your car is under the legal requirement of 90dB then she doesn't have a leg to stand on
  2. Yep spot on ferni....as far as I know as you move up the dot rating (dot 4 - dot 5 - dot 5.1 etc) the brake fluid becomes more succeptable to absorbing water and as we know the higher the water content in the fluid the lower the boilng point etc which in turn means a dodgier brake pedal. This is why dot 4 brake fluid in most everyday cars don't need to be replaced as often as dot 5.1 fluid. That said as long as you don't leave the container open for extended periods and the cap is on tight it should last a while.
  3. I get it from autobarn in Moorabbin and pay about that. And if you think the $34odd (for 500ml) dollars is expensive try buying the castrol racing brake fluid....1 litre for about the $120 mark!!
  4. +1 for the above Contact Kyp at ATP on (03) 9569 4764 on Dandenong Rd near Chadstone. He rebuilt my turbo on my 33 gtst and did a top job....tell him Anthony sent you
  5. Ah geez no interest in these items for weeks and all of a sudden theres a rush on Really sorry bloodsword, but when you didn't reply I agreed to sell them to someone else. Once again I apologise but I'll know in a day or so if that sale falls through and they are yours if thats the case
  6. Hey guys, The only shots I have of the cups with me are these: I don't have dimensions with me but they were supplied with 60mm Defi BF gauges. You stick the metal mount plate (red circle) where you want on your dash (is thin metal so will bend to suit shapes) and you use the bolt (blue arrow) to attach the cup on the angle you want). As the ad says I'm located in Melb. Bloodsword....err I'm getting a fair bit of interest in people wanting all three....if you want to take all three postage to Sydney shouldn't be any more than about 5-10bucks
  7. Happy Birthday Sarah Have a great day with plenty of celebrations
  8. Bendix brake pads SOLD.....
  9. I would love to do this but considering I posted a 1:54 on the 1st time there with the GTR I don't think that min 1:55 will suit me... Min lap times FTL
  10. Correct there Snowie but the whole reason they can be that small is the fact the the under car diffusers are doing all of the work....without that they would have wings that the lambos and Ferraris had during the 80's
  11. I sold my gtst late last year for 20k. Yes there are a heap of cheap skylines out there but I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for. Mine was advertized for 3 months before someone even came to look at it, then I had a couple of dreamers and finally someone who appreciates a car in good nick bought it. The best thing you can do to get some cash back is remove the expensive mods because no-one pays any extra money for them....then be patient waiting for the right buyer.
  12. Reading what Nick has said I don't think the lack of baffled sump is to blame.....however not over filling the car + the fact it doesn't have a baffled sump cannot be good. First and foremost Benno recommends that you over fill the car with oil...once thats taken care of any other mod like the baffles etc etc is extra insurance.
  13. Another thing that a lot of those supercars have instead of huge rear wings are under body diffusers. I fitted one to my old gtst with some impressive 'seat of the pants feel' improvment. Despite only fitting a rear diffuser I found that the car was far more stable in braking zones and allowed me to brake much later without the car feeling like it was going to turn around on me.
  14. Hi Nick, As per everyone else I was sorry to hear and hope she goes back together with no dramas...and hey she'll come back stronger than ever I recommend going something like an N1 oil pump (I also believe the Jun oil pump is a top item but $$) and the rest of the mods you suggested from the SK thread. I too would baffle the sump at the very least.....items that fit to your existing sump without mods are fairly cheap and is good insurance. Definitely loose the Penrite IMO...I have not heard good things about it during my time on SAU....benno uses and recommends Castrol Edge 10W60 and this oil has been good enough for me over the past 3/4 years. Overfilling the oil is a must do although the extra capacity of the cooler will help.
  15. Where mate I can't see them....and I hope you added those extra points as payment for me not beating your time
  16. New Sandown time: 1.24.48 WooHoo into the top10 (although something tells me I won't be for long!) Nothing changed on the car since last time....just upped the ball size
  17. What a great day...a big thatnks to all the organizers and marshalls It was great to see all the GTR's ripping up the track with some old faces back in action. John...big thanks for our close battle in the middle of the day was a highlight for me trying to catch you through those corners Archie....good to see your beast back on the track mate....awesome straight line speed ...and Gareth everyone says it but you sir, are a madman watching you take the left-hander at the end of the back straight on street tyres is a memory that will last
  18. Sorry mate I thought you were referring to entrant numbers. You know the industry I work in and in the last 10 years I have seen things drastically change in regard to OHS....some good some bad. Personally I think its a shame that Australia seems to be following the US lead of lack of personal responsibility. We all know that motorsport is dangerous and if you consider that risk to be acceptable and decide to participate, so be it. Anyway at the end of the day if these new rules etc start turning people away I think it will be a real shame but it is also upto the younger generation to step up and start to replace the void left by the errr more experienced folk
  19. Finally Paul..Well done Will have to buy a copy myself...anyone know the edition number?
  20. I tend to disagree Troy. When I first started doing these day in '04 the number of entrants was around the 50 car mark since then these days have about 70-80 cars in attendance and instead of 5 group there are around 7. Setting aside silly rule changes and the like I can see these club days lasting a lot longer than 3 years.
  21. Mine would be 1. Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 2. Original Ford GT40 3. Aston Martin DBS...for everyday use of course
  22. There isn't much of a problem if this happens on a straight esp for the overtaking car. However if the faster car catches the slower one near a corner or series of corners, then the faster car loses a heap of time through them. This no doubt causes frustration for the driver of the faster car and we all know what can happen if the red mist decends. I'm not saying this will happen but surely this new rule increases the chance of it happening due to the extra traffic.
