  1. G'day Brazen, If the rolling diameter between the front tyres and the rear tyres are different then the speed at which fronts turn compared to the rears will make the ATESSA 4WD system think that the fronts or rears are loosing traction (due to the speed difference). So it will try and fix this by trasferring torque between the fronts and rears. Eventually the clutch packs in the transfer case may burn out and need to be replaced, which costs a fair bit If the rims fit on the Stagea with no problems, then maybe you can rip the tyres off the rims and sell them seperately ? Then save up and get the same size all round ? Are the 350Z rims the same size all round ? J
  2. How long do you guys stall it up for before letting it go? Is it bad for the transmission to be stalled up all the time ? I'm always scared that I'll hear a big bang
  3. lol, yours takes that hands down. The driver of the green one didn't see me (I was hidden behind another car), so I didn't get a chance to give him a wave. It did have a big red and yellow sticker on the back that looked like a web site address..
  4. Spotted a nice clean dark green Stagea down the Hyper D (ACT) today at around 12ish. No rear wing, stock 15 inch wheels, had either QLD or NT plates. The dark green looks good. J
  5. When it comes to Auto's I'm on a pretty steep learning curve myself But from what I've found out, the shift kits speed up the gear changes. Auto's are the opposite to manuals when it comes to changing gears. With an auto, apparently faster is better for the life of them. Faster = less slip = good. I've never driven a car with one, just going on what I've read etc.. J
  6. Installing a shift kit is an option, but I don't think that will reduce your 60 foot times. To get your 60 foot times down you may need a higher RPM stall converter. Nitrous on launch would help But I know that's not an option. But seriously, have a look at this thread - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=61862 They are thinking about doing a group buy for some shift kits for the auto's. May be a good start. J
  7. Spotted 4WD_Leech down the Hyper D tonight
  8. G'day John, Sorry I don't have any pics, but if you get a tourch in the hole you'll be able to see a clip of sorts that you need to undo. If I remember right it will let you seperate the fork and thrust bearing, or let you seperate the fork from the mount (it was a long time ago !!). Not much to go on, but I hope it helps. J
  9. Cool, thanks for that. The 2 1/16 gauge is still a bit too big for where I want to mount it (on top of the steering colum) without covering up the speedo/tacho etc.. I think you can get mounting plates for that size - like the 3 gauge mounts but for just one gauge. What would the turn around time from payment to receiving the gauge be? Cheers Jayson
  10. Manual Stagea's.. Are you talking about the series 2 Stagea that came factory witht he NEO engine and manual gearbox? If so, I think the PFC for a R34 GTT NEO would be a good start.
  11. Umm, I'm pretty sure the R34 GTR is in the 12's as stock. Maybe you mixed up the specs with the R34 GTT (single turbo car). The R33 GTS-t does the 1/4 in the mid/high 14's stock.
  12. G'day Christian, I'm pretty sure that the ECU is the same as the R34 GTT. Well the plug is excatly the same anyway. I know that the speed sensor wire is the same cause my GPS was tapped into it. Here's a link to the PDF of the R34 GTT EC pinouts, I hope it helps. http://members.iinet.net.au/~jay77/R34ECUpinouts.pdf J
  13. I've got two stockies stilling in the shed that I'm happy to let go. But your in Brisbane and I'm in the ACT J
  14. Good work SK. Apparently the Stage (series 1) ECU has the same pin out as the R34 GTT. It certainly has the same plug that's for sure. Here's a link to the pinouts for the R34 GTT. http://members.iinet.net.au/~jay77/R34ECUpinouts.pdf Cheers J
  15. Did you show them the dropbears too
  16. Any idea what you can get the 0-15psi 1 1/2" gauge for ?? Part number 2172. Also, a black 1 1/2" mounting cup for it. Cheers J
  17. Old thread I know, but my Dec 98 RS4-v states RC40 as well.
  18. Just for interests sake.... My Dec 1996 Stagea is a RE4R01A as well. What's the RC40 mean after it ? Is that the diff type/ratio ? J
  19. I'd be interested in seeing the results, and price for one for a Stagea
  20. That was pretty full on !! I was down in Gordon visiting when it started. Pulled onto Drakeford Drive and I could actually see the wave of hail stones coming up the road !! I just gunned it to my place and got the car under cover. Then after that one had passed we got another hail storm that was bigger !! Damn that lightning got close too ! J
  21. Ahh, yepp. I can tell mine is dying for the boost to be wound up a bit. I'm still running the stock boost (5/6.5psi). It's hard to tell that it's a turbo car the power is that linear. Nothing like my old R33 that only had ~170rwkw. You could really feel the turbo kick in, but the 4wd of the Stagea is really cool. Oh, has anyone else done a 0-100km/h run and timed it yet ? Just curious to see what other people are getting with what mods etc.. I found out that mine was running NO timing advance !! Yepp, 0 degrees TDC !! Now it's got ~15-17 base timing and it feels much better. I think Zoom or another mag quoted a 0-100km/h time of 8.5 seconds, but they are always pretty optomistic. J
  22. Yepp, same here. I'm starting to get the itch for a bit more power The car was due to get the Unichip on Monday, but he over booked himself now it's due in next Tuesday...... Also have to see the panel beater today Someone decided to go a bit wide when they were parking next to me and thought that they would use my passenger door to stop them I STILL haven't given anyone a run.. It's raining today so I might see how she goes. But as you said Term, you can feel the extra 200kg.. J
  23. Nice The only thing I don't like about it is how the tail lights extend right up to the roof. But check out how long that bonnet is
  24. Sounds like a miss (ignition). Have you wound the boost up a bit? Do you know what sort of spark plugs your running? J
  25. Good stuff JimX. Don't worry about pairing up the aerial with the amp wire, I had two amps a cross over and an aerial hanging off of mine They don't draw very much current, so you can pair them up with no problems. J
