A quick video I made for a local workshop's best customer... Hopefully I will get to film his GT-R which is basically a huge lump of titanium, carbon fibre and magnesium
-
Nah it isn't, the way you jump on people if they say "Jap" etc you obviously love Japan and its people a lot more than I do. I would like to know why... and I think that is one of those things that I would have to see to truly understand. But I know for sure that my shed of a 200SX and I wouldn't have four pages in a magazine that sells at Circle K back in Oz

Well... I went to hospital regarding my pinky finger last year and I can categorically confirm that I did infact talk to an actual Yakuza boss walking back to my house yesterday. But unfortunately I am about as Yakuza as Ghandi They had video of me drifting from a fixed camera and an undercover incar camera (in a Silvia!!!), also my name was beaten out of one of my fellow foot soldiers who I expect to disembowl himself to gain my forgiveness.
-
I am a member of a violent drift gang apparently, I guess my yakuza boss is meant to pay. But yes, it is a new law aimed at Drift and Drag "Zoku" (as in Bosozoku) Whoever wrote the law obviously watched too much Fast and Furious as it is all meant to be an organised contest with drivers battling in a competition (presumably for money and/or respect). They had video of me driving and have video of me walking around my car, unfortunately as a six foot tall white guy with a bright yellow car I sort of stand out, even in the dark. The funniest bit of the video is when you can see me looking at the car with the camera in it trying to suss it out. Hopefully I can get a copy for my $5,300AUD

Well be careful in a couple of months if you come back here!!! I got booked last week for July 8th 2006!!! The best thing about this is that when I say "I don't remember, I really don't! But I will definitely remember the day I hand over half a million yen! While I would be the last to defend Nova, they have facilitated one of the most interesting 20 months of my life... From now I will need to get some of the Japan love that akeenan seems to have. Of all the people on here I would like to meet him the most...
-
Oh... did I mention I was being booked for drifting
-
Yes, and after this I will be a very poor(er) man! If I work for two months and do NOTHING (including pay rent) I will be able to pay my fine.
-
Unless I am much mistaken the tyres also play a large role. The clearance could change within a range of about 30mm depending on what tyres you fit
-
I spent ten hours at a police station last week and I am a Nova teacher, you do the math

I am from Osaka but people recommended a shop called Crystal in Chiba (near Tokyo) http://www.c-jpn.com/shopguide/index.htm 376-5 sonnou-cho,inage-ku,chiba city, chiba, japan. tel:81-43-256-1331 From Tokyo station they need to take the "Sobu Line" to Chiba Station, then from Chiba Station they need to catch the Chibatoshi-Monorail to a station called "Sports-Center", then walk north past Maccas and a toyota dealer and it should be on the left!

What Tyre Size For 18x10.5 Rim?
Laurence replied to Leewah's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Just go for the stock R34 245/40R18 size... Just the see the look on the "stretch Nazi's" faces... But Nismo says 275/35R18 so I would probably listen to them. -
They could be from one of the limited edition Midnight Purple cars. There were only 100 cars made (IIRC) It would be a shame to smash them against a wall or gutter drifting
-
This is another very useful little site, but it is in Japanese http://www.windsnet.ne.jp/car/map.html
-
Hmmm, go fully black, black with silver rim is a bit errrr originality deficient Though I have black with Silver on my car at the moment Here are a couple of black/bronze which should give you a rough idea

Better Tyres Or Wider Tyres?
Laurence replied to lastlineofdefence's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
salad... could you explain the theory on less contact on the road. Does the tread go concave or something along those lines? -
Hahaha yeah I am, ya busted me Please no... not the 7.5s A quick search on Yahoo Auctions bought up this as a rough guide... GTS25t R33 17×8.0JJ+32 - 225/45 17×9.0JJ+38 - 255/40 For the RUF looks perhaps? http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n40541280 But there are lots out there to suit your taste or budget... but please don't put 7.5J on your nice car!!! http://search1.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/search...=0jp&mode=2 I live in Japan so I can send this sort of junk over... for some petrol money of course

The only time I have taken a WRX for a proper drive in the hills I noticed that if you backed off hard it did a very nasty squirmy thing. So if you made a mistake going fast and backed off too hard you could easily crash. I think it was all those diffs fighting each other
-
These badboys on your rear with some 265s would be up to the job! (I would put 235s on them cause I am an idiot) It is a set of 4, but I might be willing to go halvies p.s. you would probably have to roll your guards, but my feeling is that if you don't have to roll your guards your wheels are wrong
-
I took the slightly different approach of doing figure S's in an industrial area With a couple of figure U's

Better Tyres Or Wider Tyres?
Laurence replied to lastlineofdefence's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Well I wouldn't put 225/50 on a 6.5" wheel... but Yokohama thinks it is ok (6.0-8.0) Mind you my car has 215/45R17 on 9J (7.0-8.5 recommended) http://www.yokohamatire.com/utrimwidth.asp So the answer is YES, or NO... depending on what you mean by better or worse -
Yes, actually I am working on getting my visa sorted which I am trying to distract myself from! WTB: A Life edit: Found a link http://club.pep.ne.jp/~hiroette/en/facemarks/index.html

m(_ _)m To completely honest my post is a total lie... I need to get out more. The thought of someone actually running around yelling "onigiri" at the top of their lungs was just too silly to resist. The symbol is a face, but like all JDM text emoticons I have NFI what it means (0_o) Anyway sorry, hopefully someone can give a sensible answer.
-
"Onigiri" or Riceball is Japanese street racer slang for police, if you come to Japan and see the police at a drift/drag/touge spot is a good idea to run around yelling ONIGIRI at the top of your voice. The symbol on the right is a text replica of the police lights, it is often sent via SMS in red. The full message is sent via a group list when someone spots the police coming. It is basically just a reference to the fact people usually go to a convenience store after the cops bust things up and eat onigiri. I have seen some people with those stickers on their cars so I guess places are starting to sell them.

Ken Hirai is good, I liked Popstar as well, the video is really cute. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jancee8B4Xo Koda Kumi (Kumi Koda? I dunno) is very "erotic looks good" to transliterate. I have Cutie Honey as my phone's ringtone... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6661821020567592678 I guess The Pillows would have to rank up there for me, they have some good music which is usually a ripoff of some other genre but they are so prolific that there is bound to be something for everyone in their discography. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4taYyYY8AU There is some tryhard Japanese reggae and stuff that is actually quite good and at clubs they sometimes have life R&B singers who are sometimes good too!
