  1. yep, a good time was had by all. Was darn cold as expected, so I was rugged up to the hilt The 8-ball after was fun too
  2. N1 - sorry mate can't get laptops 2nd hand, only new. MadGT4 - they are Seagate ST310014ACE ST310014ACE Configuration and Specifications U Series X Capacity: 10.2 GB Speed: 5400 rpm Average Seek Time: 18 ms Cylinders: 16383 Heads: 16 Sectors: 63 I just put one in each of the machines I have listed for sale and they run WinXP beautifully, even though they are 'lower end' machines.
  3. yep that Area 4 on the map is the one I was referring to. See u at the meet spot at 8am .... it's gonna be chilly kids, so bring the snow gear - and I am SERIOUS!
  4. also have some near new 10Gb Seagate IDE hard drives for $30 each. Handy if you have run out of room and need more space. Can install for you, for a very cheap fee.
  5. the 34 has a trans cooler fitted stock - I assumed all Skylines do! I am looking to upgrade the cooler to a larger and more efficient one shortly anyhow.
  6. where are you located? I take it postage would be a killer on the sub box to SA?
  7. pics don't work, wanna post some up. I might take 2 sets. Approx delivery cost to Northgate, Adelaide, 5085? I assume they don't weight much and you could get 2 sets in a postpack for $5? Total price for 2 sets posted?
  8. I don't know what its called, but the area with lots of food etc has viewing of 2 separate sectors of the track. There is lots of seating area and is a great apot. Not sure what it's called, but went there last year after our marshalling duties and it was great. It is in fairly thick forest.
  9. no worries mate, you are welcome anytime. My parents bought it for me for Xmas last year and haven't had a need to use it yet.
  10. you're welcome to borrow mine Duc - I just had a look at it - it is only a dodgy el cheapo GMC one, but is brand new - I haven't even fired it up yet. 1500W 2Hp tank capacity 24L 206L/min tank displacement 117l/min free air displacement 0.8MPa max pressure these numbers mean nothing to me - maybe they do to you?
  11. nah haven't read your thread on air compressors - but might tonight. I don't know if mine will be up to the task or not.
  12. I actually do have a compressor and spray gun etc .... but have never used them. Maybe I will give it a go myself. I wonder how hard it would be to do shadow chrome - that is what I would really like for the spokes.
  13. yeah well that is one thought - get the whole thing polished like the 2nd and 3rd pics. But depending on price might get the centres done a colour.
  14. so is there anything good left? Does anyone know? I take it all the good stuff is long gone ....
  15. damn that is a v.nice paint job! Hey Sam, would you be able to paint my wheel centres in your shed? They are stripping off the chrom lip and the centres, and they should be ready to mask and paint when I get them back. Do you think it would be an easy job? Also, are heatproof paints easy to come by? Otherwise I might just get the entire wheel mirror polished. Pic attached. Also 2 pics attached of what mine would look like polished.
  16. nah, but I know of a wicked S15 for sale - it's heaps fast too and has TONS of fruit! www.andrewn.da.ru /end shameless plug
  17. yeah Sean it has stock shocks all round (or so it looks - haven't had them out yet), and lowered springs. The rears seem lowered about an inch, but the fronts are lowered by about 2.5 inches or more - they are way too low - you can't even nearly see the top of the tyre when looking side-on. I am going to put the rears back in, but buy some 30mm lowered springs for the front.
  18. yeah I did pretty much what your tutorial says when I did the S15 ones. 1st step I sprayed heaps of degreaser on and let it get right into the grease, then hosed off. 2nd sanded with some medium grip paper. 3rd a coat of primer. 4th about 3 coats of normal/cheap/non heatproof chrome spray paint. 5th 2 coats of chrome heatproof paint. No clear top coat (as it dulls the chrome look). Have been great for around 6 months and still look like the day I painted them.
  19. true Duc, but I would so do it anyhow. It is a whole 2 minute job to jack a corner up and pull a wheel off. All up it would only take 1/2 hour to sand it back then paint them. Since the 34 is already on car stands, I might as well do it. My S15 ones are chrome and look 1000% better than the dirty black colour they were ihmo. I have also fully cleaned and protected every single metal part in each wheel-well, and even vinyl/plastic protected the guard skins etc. There is no such things as a "too clean" car. I am being especially particular as the car has been subjected to salt on the roads during snow season in Nagoya.
  20. yeah I'm in the same boat as mad34, but I am also going to get the high-stall modified while Mike is in the box. Are there any known negative side effects on life of the box or components etc? Later on I am going to get kevlar disks etc put in to fully strengthen the whole box.
  21. yep I'll take one, but won't want to pay for it/be delivered until October when I get back from the USA. If it helps your numbers and will take that long anyway, put me down. I have a standard series 1 front bar.
  22. anyone else? I also have to quit a Western Digital WD2000JD 150Mb/s 7,200rpm 200Gb SATA Hard Drive (customer changed his mind) - it cost me $190 wholesale a month ago, will let it go for $160. 1 Year warranty. Drive is BRAND NEW. This is a top of the line drive at under cost price!
  23. that is bs. To my knowledge (as done by a Regency guy when I was pulled up for a defect check), the exhaust test has to be done with the sensor at a 45 degree angle, at least 1 metre from the tip of your exhaust. Also, I was told by cops when my S15 was tested, that the legal limit is 94dB, but they let me get away with 96dB no problem.
  24. Great article - and great in theory, but I have just put a Trust copy aluminium sump on my S15 and it has reduced normal oil running temp from 180 degrees fahrenheit, to under 150 degrees fahrenheit. I have not track raced it yet with the new sump, but am positive it would even help here too. It was a 5 minute job to install, and you don't run the risk of ever popping a fitting or hose, and lunching your engine. For non-track cars, I think the higher capacity sump is the way to go! It has fins (like a heatsink) for cooling, is internally gated to stop oil surge, and carries 1 litre more of oil. Can't go wrong! That said, oil coolers are great too, just thought I'd point out the benefit of my new acquisition, and how suprisingly well it works at cooling.
  25. still for sale .... price drop to $35,000. This car has over $20,000 of fruit on it!!
