  1. are you guys referring to this (click) sort of front lip?
  2. sorry to hear about it Joolz - will keep an ear to the ground. Die thieves die!
  3. damn slow internet ... double post, sorry
  4. PIE - as Will said, my stock ecu reset while I was in the USA (due to flat battery) and the tune of my piggy-back Unichip is subsequently stuffed. I had black fuel smoke pouring out the back of my car on the dyno run! But either way she has never actually cracked 200rwkw - my highest figure is 197rwkw, which was when she did the 12.74 1/4 mile at 110mph. It seems my stock air flow meter and throttle body are the culprits for holding back my power, as 220rwkw is what she should make, given the mods (in my opinion). As I said on the day, it would be great if we could have a dyno day one day, and a drag day at AIR the next. That would be truly awesome to compare power vs 1/4 mile times. Also would be interesting to weight the cars at AIR before their run to compare power vs weight vs 1/4 mile time and mph. Even better if we could get a dyno and weighing station at AIR for a day to do it all at once! If only!
  5. I am not a real turbo whiz, so I need some advice from you gurus I am thinking about strapping a turbo to my R34. For a relatively stock RB25DET with the following mods: Apexi Power Intake in a partition Manual boost/bleed valve Apexi SAFCII Apexi Exhaust Control Valve Jasma Cat-back zorst Split front/dump pipe (from Batmbl) Catco high-flow cat No intercooler Standard fuel system I am thinking about getting a Garrett T3 T04E internal wastegate turbo with T3 flange. Not sure of the a/rs yet, but will post tomorrow. The seller says I will get an easy 210rwkw at low boost with no aftermarket ecu, or 250rwkw with some tuning. Obviously without a/rs it is hard for you all to say, but am I on the right track with my enquiries so far? Obviously with standard fuel system I am not going to boost at over say 12psi, but may get a Sard rising rate fuel reg. if necessary. Ideas/comments? I am not after crazy numbers, and want the car to be VERY streetable and lag-free. Is this the right sort of setup, or am I miles off track? Thanks for any advice!
  6. great pics Sam - and thanks for the free advertising And yesh Ash didsh drink all of those homebrewsh .... and he wash schlurring hish wordsh a bit too
  7. FYI - you actually need a receipt from a tyre place that proves you bought the tyres here brand new, for compliance purposes. That is the rule .... but you may get lucky if you can convince the compliance worshop otherwise .... Great set of wheels for a great price btw! Hey R34, any chance of getting some photos of your new V35 emailed to me? I am thinking about bringing one in - saw lots of G35s in the USA last month, and man are they hot!!!!
  8. yeah I wasn't 100% sure I was coming Joolz .... ah well will catch up at the bbq at Guy's house with any sort of luck. Bring Jaffa too - haven't caught up with him for ages.
  9. geez you must have left early Julian .... I got there about 12:30pm and you'd already gone. FYI anyone that saw it the black smoke pouring out of my exhaust, it was fuel - the S15 is running mega-rich - hence the low power figure. My battery went flat while I was in the USA and reset all the oem computer specs putting my Unichip way out of whack.
  10. yeah, great work on organising Will! Thanks too for Ash having some of us back for a bbq. Then thanks for those that came to my place after that for some 8-ball and drinks tonight!
  11. As spotted by MattR R34GTR M-Spec Nur (MINES) for sale /drool
  12. My old man is a Gliderol roller door installer if you need one of those. Can sell/do new or 2nd hand. Let me know if you want his number. He is based in Ridgehaven but travels all over SA.
  13. Thanks mate, we appreciate your effort that went into all this! (for no profit or return). No big deal on the wait - these things happen, and you are obviously a busy bloke. So now your work has the machinery, what other goodies can you make us? What about stainless door sills? (someone on ns.com has been making them up for Silvias, with the logo cutout and blue leds put underneath). These would be great! I am trying to think of other fabrications too ....
  14. yeah I get your point of view Tim, but you also have to look at it from other perspectives. I am not sure what your solution is, but I personally can't stand all of the people in our area who park on the street - it pisses me off no end having to always go around their cars - sometimes having to wait for a car coming the other way as there is a car parked on both sides of the road. I could take to their bloody cars with a sledgehammer. But alas I did it when Iused to live at my parents house, so who am I to complain? But yeah, I guess you weren't given fair warning and didn't actively park there whilst the signs were exposed. You could explain that to the council and see if they will reconsider.
  15. sorry mate, sounds like you were fore-warned, and obviously the traffic rules were put in place for a very good reason (so traffic flow wasn't inhibited). Surely you had noticed the bagged-up signs (as per your post) and should have enquired earlier as to what is was all about. You have to cop it on the chin.
  16. Ash, that is one of the funniest things I have ever read
  17. yep, I'll be there
  18. Cartoys have recently acquired a red R33GTR - not sure if it is the rare red or not (haven't seen it yet). Either way I haven't seen a red R33GTR before!
  19. haha awesome Ash!
  20. very clean 32R you have there!
  21. Thought I'd start an SA thread for local funnies and jokes. To start the ball rolling, here's a great photo I was emailed today. Taken on Port Wakefield Road.
  22. I recently bought my R34 through Prestige and so far all has been good. Had some delays and slight over-run with costs regarding storage at North Haven quarantine (due to the car getting here TOO quickly would you believe), and compliance is going to be slightly more costly than reported, but all up I have been very happy so far.
  23. won't have my R34 4 door on the road for at least 6 weeks .... can you wait until then?
  24. yeah but tons of people will show up and want to run on the day. I might even put my toy on the rollers if I can be bothered ,and if its not at the paint shop.
  25. damn .... how hot are R34GTR wheels on a gunmetal R32GTR?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
