  1. yeah you're right Duc, I absolutely love my car and imho the S15 is a much better car overall (performance vs power etc), but by the same token there are little things that piss me off about it too. I still love the car, despite the little setbacks/features I would like - which is what makes my decision so hard. Also I have just put a HID kit in it and a large capacity sump and new fuel pump is going in tomorrow. I have literally just poured money into the car - which makes the loss on selling it even harder to bear. When I do the quick sums on hardware I have bought the total comes to a bit over $15k - makes me think I should try for more like $40k, given stockers still go for around $30k. Ahh decisions, decisions. Yep, I think you should buy my car Will, might make my decision a lot easier Fancy a nice 12 second car with looks to kill, and you have $40k to spare? PCOTY is your beast
  2. Geoff has been pretty helpful. I am in the final stages of deciding whether to cop a big loss on my car and buy the R34, or spend a few more grand on my car and fix all the little things wrong with it, and keep it longer. I am in 2 minds. I am worried about how slow the R34 will be, and whether I would be happy with it. I wouldn't be in a position to spend any money on it, so would leave it basically stock for the time being. I can't decide, I don't want to see the S15 go, as it is such an awesome car! But then I would love an auto for all the work miles I do, plus climate control and traction control is a big bonus.
  3. yep, that's the one I am looking at ....
  4. I may be in for Saturday arvo cruise, but depending if my car is fixed. Have some minor fuel issues being attended to atm
  5. nope, just ring them up and see if they will take the rims for you, and how much it will cost. Google their phone number ....
  6. bus lines like Greyhound of McCaffertys used to be the cheapest way.
  7. Not sure if it sprung centre or solid. It is an Exedy twin plate. Yeah I think it is faulty, but I have already had it replaced - so I fear I would go through the whole process of getting it warrantied again - then the new one would just be the same again after a couple of months.
  8. yeah got it for the wife about 6 months ago now .... very nice car (for a family wagon) - not that we are going to have a family anytime soon
  9. so I take it from your comment the TCS does have some sort of launch control - so if you rev it up at standstill and abosultely drop the clutch, the wheels won't smoke up at all? And does the TCS work if you say lose traction around a corner when having a spirited drive in the hills? I know my wife's Accord Euro does - it is amazing the way the car applies brakes to 1 wheel only of you start to get out of shape. Iceduck, where do you live and would you be willing to let me take your beast for a quick spin? You can have a drive of mine, in exchange
  10. yep, on many occasions, and it is damn embarrassing. On the upside, the funniest thing is doing in front of mates who give me a hard time about it, but then making them drive my car and laughing at them stalling it 5+ times just trying to get the car moving (I'm not going to mention any names, but they are off these forums). The 'take up' of the clutch from disengaged to fullly engaged is approx 2-3cm, and is almost impossible to feel with your foot. Note this is the 2nd one of this clutch, as the first one was this bad so I took it back to Adelaide Clutch and they replaced it for me. This current clutch was not too bad for about 1,000km then became the monster it now is - identical to the 'faulty' one they replaced last time. I give up.
  11. speeding on urban roads is just dumb these days ....
  12. if you could that would be great Leo. I assume it is a quite intelligent system, where most aftermarket traction control units cuts power to only 1 or 2 cylinders until traction is regained, then full power is applied again - this is usually not to the detriment of launch whatsoever. Maybe Cell could advise? Yeah Duc, from what I can gather traction control is standard on R34GTTs. Yeah the twin plate sucks ass - it is great (in that it handles the power awesomely), but is almost impossible to get a decent launch (I get about 1 in 10 good launches), and if you are not concentrating 100% all the time you stall it like a biatch.
  13. nah Chapman, in order to fit climate to an S15 you need around $1k worth of bits and pieces and roughly another $1k for labour. You need to fit an entire new wiring loom and fit several stepper motors and various other components. A guy from Vic did it a year ago and I looked at his websie on how to do it. It is an extremely difficult and expensive operation! My other main issue with my S15 is that I can't get much of the power to the gorund without breaking traction - so traction control would be awesome. Oh, and the whole twin plate clutch exercise I hate, as it is now a pain to drive in any sort of traffic (which I do all day). I still love my S15 though, and if I am to part with it, it will be an extremely difficult decision.
  14. yep I have photos of it - I wish I could make a mould ..... mind you, I might be selling my car soon(ish) .... thinking of getting an R34 GTT - I am so sick of the little luxuries my car doesn't have, like climate control, remote boot release, traction control. Don't flame me, but I am seriously considering tiptronic auto (which I would get strenthened and add a high-stall to, of course).
  15. thanks mate!! I love your new stealth rear wing - it is the shiznat! I wish the same thing was availble for my car.
  16. yeah Sam's is definietly one of the cleanest R33s around by a mile (Matt H's and Clint's being others). Spot the car spraypainter
  17. nah Matt - for $120 you get a brand new one out of the wrapper!
  18. yep - No Upper Body Strength - I wasn't that drunk! Yes, my back and legs were ratshit for a couple of days after the go-karting as well!
  19. I bought mine from Kart Mania at Gepps Cross - was about $120 and is the same style as the ones we used at the Port Elliot Pits go-karting
  20. hehe - NUBS ....
  21. yes, but funny nonetheless for those that haven't seen the pics
  22. yeah, there are like 20 of us all making up Regency horror stories for the fun of it .... some have reasonably good experiences, but most don't. When I had my 1992 MX6 (non-turbo Aus delivered) and moved from Darwin to Adelaide, I went in simply to get the vin checked and copped a heap of warnings and near defects while I was there - including being given a razor blade and made to remove my tint before I left, as although it was legal, it didn't have a % tint sticker on the window.
  23. We split into 2 random groups for 2 grand prix. All up MattR won his group and Sambo and I tied for winner of the 2nd group (on a points basis over qualifying and 4 races). I think the best time of the day was MattR with a 21.19. Thanks to all that came, we had 17 racers all up, which was a healthy turnout. We went to Vili's for tea afterwards, then most of us continued on to MattR's for his Birthday bash. The darts and 8-ball were great as always - as was the wooded Jamesons - owww my head this morning! The next major event is likely to be paintballing at a venue TBA. I would think we might do this in June or July, weather permitting.
  24. Grepin's R33 pulled the best figure of the day - I think it was 317.5rwkw. Freebaggin's R33 did around 260rwkw, but wasn't running right.
