If anyone cares, a few of us are heading to Tilbrooks for a look around 10am tomorrow.

If they could only be like the boat police!!
Nightcrawler replied to grepin's topic in South Australia
yeah, Carolyn did that no less than 5 times!! -
Sorry to make this last minute change, but Richmond Kart Mania rang me today to confirm our booking, and told me it is a 1 hour booking for 8-12 people between 7 and 8pm, with another group having booked the place out from 8-10pm. I actually booked (or thought I had) a 2 hour slot for us, but the guy that took my booking must have stuffed it up somehow. What we can do instead is kart from 6pm-8pm, giving us 2 grand prix events, where we have 2 eventual winners and trophy holders. SO Intead of meeting at the meet place (that I have PM'd those that asked for it) for dinner at 5:30pm, can we please still meet there and we will cruise straight to Richmond for karting (we can grab a burger there at Hungry Jacks for a snack to last us until dinner). THEN after karting do we want to go somewhere for late dinner around town/near Richmond somewhere (which will work out better for down South people anyhow I would think). Again, sorry for the stuff up but it is beyond my control. So is everyone OK with that? Either meet at the North-Eastern spot I PM'd to people at 5:30pm, or meet us directly at Richmond at 6pm. I will PM this info to everyone on the attendee list also. Andrew

yep I agree with what is said above - if you are generally well behaved and don't do the Friday and Saturday night Hindley, Rundle and Bay cruising you are mostly left alone. Except of course unless you come across a cop with a bee in their bonnet, in which case they will go to town on you and your car. Luckily you are a bit older like many of us on here, and the police tend to respect you more and not look for trouble. That said, if you don't want the negative police attention that Skylines bring, buy a 200SX like mine, and you basically get left alone. The cops seem to have the import models programmed into their brains as defectable and troublemakers. Or even better if you have some money under your belt, bring in a nice R34GTR so we can all gawk at it on cruises

If they could only be like the boat police!!

I could tell you tons of my fishing stories including charter trips in Darwin catching 80cm jewfish, mulloway, barracuda, snapper and sharks, and multiple trips around Coffins Bay - last Easter we caught tons of legal whiting and snapper, trevalley, and deep sea salmon .... this Easter we went 30km offshore at Coffins Bay, but unfortunaly some of the passengers (Chops and Carolyn my wife) got seasick so we had to go back - but the other boat that was with us stayed and they got some 25kg gropers and heaps of snapper, nangai, kingfish etc -
South Australian Vehicle ID Plates - back to regency!
Nightcrawler replied to traphead's topic in South Australia
the joys of owning an import in SA. But don't you dare sell it - it is letting them win - that's what the government wants! -
Kym, you really need to read the Regency thread started by Joel - you simply would not believe some of the shit said and done by the Regency inspectors. Catch any one of them in a bad mood and you might as well take a big jar of vaseline - no matter what car you have or how legal it is.
-
yeah mate I agree with what you say, but the fact remains that almost every person I know (that's been through Regency) has been knocked back for coilovers. And yes, some older cars have been knocked back for saggy springs and had to go get new ones too. Like Matt said, it just depends who you get on the day, and with some if you dared ask them a question as to why something wasn't allowed or, god forbid, complained, they would look twice as hard over your car.

South Australian Vehicle ID Plates - back to regency!
Nightcrawler replied to traphead's topic in South Australia
nope, there is no such thing. They have no clearly defined standards, and it seems you just have to hope you get the right inspector, as some of them just want to screw you to make a point - even though they have absolutly no idea what they are doing. What I REALLY want to do is 'A Current Affair' style tactic where we take the same car back 3 times and see what things are said each time - like when they catch dodgy mechanics ripping people off for the same problem. That would highlight Regency's absolute disregard and poor knowledge of what is actually legal and not legal, as we all well know it is different for every single person that goes to Regency. But, no-one is interested in the issue, as we are such a niche group, and we are probably all HOONS anyhow. -
sorry to say that isn't true Kym. Just ask the plethora of people who have been told to either weld them in position, or get rid of them before Regency will pass them. I know for a fact that Soarers with air bag suspension have no hope of getting through. What Aus delivered cars have adjustable suspension? Tons of people, including people on these forums, have had the big thumbs down from Regency for adjustable suspension. It is the same theory as a boost controller or turbo timer - you can't just turn them off to go through Regency - in fact if you even have any of the wiring looms or any part thereof they will not pass you. Regency figure that if you 'can' lower your car after you leave, then you will. It's a load of bs, but they are the rules.

We don't cruise very often anymore due to the massive police presence and resultant diminished fun etc. Especially now it's winter you will see many of the Skylines from this site home in their garages. But keep an eye on these forums, as cruises do happen from time to time.
-
what car do you have now?
-
you have to come Duc - we really need 24 people for it to work properly. Come either way, it will be fun. Yep no worries Matt, Leroy or Greg are of course welcome to come with me - unless Chops is coming with me, then you'll have to squeeze Greg in the back of your car
-
nah I wasn't there Ash, but have spoken to plenty who were .... my point is there is some type of accident on pretty much EVERY SINGLE one of these cruises full of dickhead P platers who think they can drive, but are in fact a danger to themselves and others around them. There was a 3 car prang on the last NissanSilvia cruise a couple of weeks ago, and by the sounds of it it could have been a much bigger accident. Just my 2c
-
hmmm BIG surprise .... there were plenty of Commonwhores drifting into the meet carpark and doing burnouts, and one other guy hit a give-way sign during the cruise causing several others to lock it up and almost collide .... I always wonder why I don't go on these scooter cruises!!
-
The turbo-timer rule is absolutely rediculous, as I am yet to see a turbo timer that won't engage unless the handbrake is fully on - meaning if you had an accident the car would just shut off anyhow. But try and explain that to the cops ....
-
nah it's all booked, so as long as we have 12 people we will be fine. I am hoping we will get 24 racers, so we can split up into 2 separate Grand Prixs and take turns in qualifying and racing etc. I spoke with Greg and he was in, but he said Leroy was only a possible on account of his wife Will catch up with you soon Matty for a few drinks.
-
yep the final venue is Richmond. We will be meeting at an undisclosed North-Eastern place for early dinner at 5:30pm then mini-cruise to Richmond. Those on the other side of town can just meet us there. For anyone that wants the info please PM me and I'll send you the meeting place and restaurant/cafe details.

yeah I went with a pack of guys about a month ago to the Port Adelaide indoor place. It's fairly fun, but the outdoor ones are much bigger and better. There is one near Wirrina that you don't have to drive on any dirt roads to get to. The problem is you have to pay a deposit, and that is hard to collect with this group of people - plus the big risk of peoplpe not rocking up as usual!
-
ROFL .... except it might not have pee-cooties plates anymore by then
-
yes, well said. The thread has been deleted on ns.com now, as the children were getting upset. Of course Karim and his little friends say, 'wah wah we didn't say anything', even though the coppers were only at HJs to get something to eat, and only started looking at cars because Karims stands out like dogs nuts. Then of course they are directed to the other imports, which I believe did happen to take the heat off Karim. Either way, people should be allowed to hang out where they want, and jokers shouldn't dob in others to misdirect attention from themselves. End of story. Maybe mods should delete this post to stop any more b!tching.
-
yeah have thought about that - might bring some extras to patrol the carpark in shifts all night, or just have someone pop out every five minutes to check on things.
-
yeah sounds like the Supra driver was first class gay. Dobbing others in is the most uncool thing ever. Sounds like the Supra belongs to Karim, he has one that colour - and he is a tool, so it all fits. Was it this one? http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...showtopic=86839

yeah the whole situation sounds ghey, but I gotta agree with Ronin - you are cop bait sitting at Shell with all the ricers on a Saturday night.

hey benm, are there sub-exchanges under the site/exchange list at http://www.agile.com.au/data/service-area.htm#upcoming - I am under the Hampstead Exchange and have only just got ADSL, as we were running off a rim in the new Northgate development. Our exchange isn't on that list, but do we come under another site/exchange like Prospect? Do you know if areas that have recently got their DSLAM/MimiMux (like mine) will be easier for them to set up ADSL2+, or is it a disadvantage?
