Navigation Disc For A V35 Jap Import
Nightcrawler replied to buddy54's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Do you have a navi dvd-rom in the little glove box thingo above the main glove box? I would get in behind the dash (by removing the glove box) and check the it is plugged in. -

Nope, it works just the same without the disk. -

You don't need a disk in to do that. Do you mean you are looking for the whole DVD-Rom navi setup? -
If you are in Adelaide (you haven't specified your location for some reason) I have a few sets of replica RAYS nuts in blue or red here for $50 a set including lock nuts.

The Jp nav system in our V35s does not work in Australia. Fullstop. Please take the time to read the V35 info thread - all of your answers on every aspect of the V35 are there. http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/240794-v35-faq-read-first-before-posting/ -
Advice For Servicing 370gt

Yep, you will barely find a single Nissan dealer in Aus that will go near modern Skylines - they hate grey imports with a special passion. -
Where To Find V35 350Gt Body Kits
Nightcrawler replied to Gungnirl's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I was quoted US$1,250 to bring in ONE front bar early last year. So I bought 4, as slid together and put in one box it worked out to the same shipping cost. But of course if you crack A$1,000 for the total cost of your parts, you will get slugged GST, duties, storage, customs clearance fees etc etc .... often on the goods AND the shipping costs. Some people get lucky, others get reamed - it is luck of the draw. I have even heard people getting slugged when the shipping fees have been included by customs in the declared value - as any decent size shipment from the USA will be over $1k, you then pay 20-30% more on top for all the fees. Save some dough and buy my last urethane Nismo front bar, which is sitting here in Adelaide -

Windows Down With Remote
Nightcrawler replied to namskies1's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Pretty sure it is an American G35 thing, not a Skyline V35 thing sadly. -
ah, OK. I stand corrected. I have never seen or heard of a post-2003 one.
-
You will find that NOWHERE in Australia stocks anything but the most basic items for V36s. Get it out of America and pay the duties/shipping - it will work out TONS cheaper than what you would pay for one in a shop in Australia anyhow.

Fyi the dreaded CVT gearbox was only in 2001-2003 GT-8 sedans. Yes, as mentioned, I am pretty sure there has never been a stuttering issue with 370GTs. And for a small extra amount of money, why would you not want the extra power anyway? Be careful looking at cars from NZ - I have a feeling you cannot import them - -I remember something about them having to come straight from Japan, not an import of an import. Talk to Iron Chef - he is by far the best bet to get the exact car out of Japan at the exact price you want. Once you start getting lists/photos/details of cars coming up for auction, it will blow your mind.

Super Charging
Nightcrawler replied to dalaughingbuddha's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
The HUGE problem is that any variety of bolt-on kit is going to only be run at very low boost unless you open the motor and spend a SIGNIFICANT amount of money. The Stillen Stage 2 kits costs around $10k landed from the USA (once you factor in shipping, duites and gst) plus fitting, and only nets around a 35-40% power increase. Results are VERY mixed all over the internet. This is one set of results of a Stage 3 kit: Baseline:....242.5 hp @ 5800 rpm 239.4 ft/lbs @ 4600 rpm Stillen:.......338.2 hp @ 6600 rpm 302.6 ft/lbs @ 4200 rpm The real fun starts with the VQ35 when the motor is properly built/decompressed and you can run some decent boost. As we all know, 7psi is for pussies. Turbo kits seem to make quite a bit more power too. I know of a 350Z here in Adelaide that ran 350rwkw with an APS twin turbo kit on an unopened motor - for a little while until he grenaded it. But I also know of a V35 with a Stage 1 HKS superchager kit that was still only doing 14 second 1/4 mile times, so was not much quicker than a lightly modified stocker without f.i. The answer is, if you want a luxury cruiser with a little bit of poke, mod your V35 to 180rwkw and enjoy it. If you want a car with real power, sell it and buy a GTR. Simple as that -

Haha, it's not about how many posts you have, it is how long you have been around for *cough SAU member number 669 joined 25 Jul 2002* (when many members on here had not yet had their first pimple yet) -

Budget $15k as a STARTING point. You won't believe how many little and big things you need to change if you want to do it properly (including E85 conversion, new fuel lines, swirl tank, dual fuel pumps, flex sensor, then things like trans strengthening, diff strengthening, etc etc). Of course if you are mechanically handy you can save yourself a heap of cash (install is 20 hours+ so I am told). -
Wanted: 2007 V36 Sedan Oem Shocks.
Nightcrawler replied to MDCAT's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
OK, here's a couple of tips. If you don't actually own a V35/V36 (unless you haven't updated your "Car" field in your profile), then what are you doing offering advice? Don't talk about shit you don't know about. Saying that a brand is "of better quality than oem" is just stupid - oems spend millions of dollars in R&D before putting parts in our cars. Sadly MOST oem parts in our cars are MUCH better quality than the things we replace them with. But the key issue here that neither DMS or Eibach make a part that is certified to ADM standards and are legal or acceptable from a legal or more importantly insurance point of view. How many times have to taken your car to Regency, as the op is proposing? For your info I have had 4 different cars there for a total of over 10 visits/inspections. This is also the 4th Nissan I have owned, so hopefully I know a little bit about them. I am having trouble understanding your English in the last 2 sentences (maybe proof read your posts before posting them) - but as opposed to yourself, I actually DID suggest the possibility of using 350Z/370Z gear in order to get him out of trouble, which unlike yourself IS proposing a workable solution. Unengineered coilovers will NOT pass ANY inspection in Australia (unless you are extremely lucky and the inspector doesn't look properly). Fullstop. Last tip: don't be a smartarse to an SAU Admin ..... if he was having a bad morning he would have already given you a holiday from the forums for being a smartarse. -

Nightcrawler replied to MDCAT's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
That is a pretty silly thing to say. And the extremely simple answer is that with adjustable height coilovers once you have passed your inspection at oem height, you could go home and lower your car to whatever illegal level of you like in 5 minutes. The fun police definitely don't want it to be that easy. Plus there are almost no (maybe none even) V35 coilovers that meet (or have been tested for) ADR compliance. No ADR compliance = illegal. I assume this isn't for compliance, and your car already has a pink SEVS compliance sticker? As if it is for compliance and the car is fresh out of Japan, you NEED to have exact oem equipment for your model and spec car. They WILL check. -

Just buy some oem 350Z ones - they give a 1 inch drop, but without 2 cars side by side I very much doubt that Regency would be able to tell that they are not oem. Is that right sedan gurus? -
