  1. A mate with a Holden Grange said the same thing at a recent skidpan day. Doesn't like a lot of the crowd his type of car attracts and finds the import crowd to be much approachable and less blinded by the type of vehicle drive/fanatical.
  2. Re: Weld Cresta - Read somewhere a few years ago he wrote that off in the hills, was a mad car though.
  3. You have to be little careful with this sort of thing now there's laws in place to ensure that the govt gets it's tax dollars wedding cars are from a registered business for public liability insurance precautions and so forth. You can always get around this by giving the driver an invitation should you find that the hire car services in the ACT region don't meet your needs
  4. For those of you that are stripping the car down & removing all the lines that run into the cabin, 5 cent, 10 cent, 20 cent and 50 cent pieces fit snugly into the rubber grommets in the firewall.
  5. keep spotting the same blue R33 going past Russell every morning. Black bonnet, blue tint HIDs, some sort of kit, possibly a GTR wing on the rear.
  6. ^ You've probably had more time in yours though, mine sat for nearly 3 years in the garage. I'd like to blame lack of track time in NSW for the loss of motivation but it was more like debt management and being plain lazy
  7. Had an old thread about this somewhere, can't find it now so figured I'd start again. Bought the car in 2005 looking like this Came with the following: RB25DET S2 RB20 box R33 rear brake swap 4-5 stud front converters recaro knock off seats SMIC of some sort Unknown 2 way TEIN HR coils cusco castor rods stereo didn't work Unknown heavy as hell twin plate A/C didn't work 3" exhaust with a cannon Shortly after getting it put a FMIC in it, did skids around parts of Canberra. Took the Apexi badge off, ruined the grille and was gay. Moved to Melb in 2006 with work, did a track at Winton, got the front end airborn over a ripple strip whilst spinning coming onto the main straight, landed hard & did some minor damage. Went on my farewell cruise in October as I'd finished my work there. We camped out all night, bonfire, drinking, etc - Melb west meets kids should know, ran out of talent in a big way. Stoved into an embankment with a drop off just in front of it nose first, pushed the rad support up, bent the cooler, bent the chassis rails etc. Despite overheating in traffic & handling like shit, it got home the next day Moved back to Canberra, got the body work fixed up whilst I was without a license. Car looked presentable, hadn't got the rails straightened yet, still handled like shit. Used it as a daily for a while, hit a roo that bounced off a car coming the other way, f**ked the front bar, reo & cooler again. CBF paying rego on it as the car was getting more damage on the road than on the track so decided to go track only. Chucked it on a jig & pulled it straight(ish), car then sat for about 3 years slowly accumulating parts. I barely ever turned the engine over, never drove it, just generally hated it. Finally got organised & took it to a Wakefield track day earlier this year, killed the stock RB25 AFM. Since it came off the road: gutted interior shadow gauges front & rear strut braces silk road coilovers cusco camber arms boxed K-frame brackets Velo seat Velo harness Z32 ECU + Nistune chip Z32 AFM currently sitting on R33 GTR rims JJR 5 stud hubs for the front Have a DMAX roof wing to go on, a cut & shut GTR plenum to go on but the f**king thing fouls on the brake master cylinder. Just sold the Blitz rims to the missus so she can stick them on her sil80 as daily drivers and keep her Buddy Clubs as track rims. Buying a set of Zenkais (yeah yeah hate hate) because they're cheap and decent offsets. Plan to get a set of silver Weds SA-90 in 17x9 +20 as well, they look decent without the gay blue sticker around the inner lip on them. Will also evetually get the GTR plenum & new cooler piping sorted. /cool story bro story
  8. I've just put some on my car, going to powdercoat them black though. Fronts touch the springs (Silk Road coilovers), but that might be due to running the camber inserts, lack of wheel alignment, etc.
  9. Have you fitted & used the 26>25 adaptor plate? I'm keen on buying but for that money want to know it's the business.
  10. Open invite sent out to those I know on FB. Could turn out to be quite the shin-dig, hopefully the weather holds out for it.
  11. I don't track mine or drive like a f**kwit in it and it's still shit in regards to the factory brakes. They're undersized and the rotors warp very easily from daily driving. He may not bother with upgrading them and be happy with the car in factory fit out, I wasn't so upgraded a couple of things to make it more comfortable and less like a boat that hardly stops.
  12. If you do end up getting one budget for replacing pretty much all the bushes as the factory ones really are shit. Swaybars and brake upgrades are also worth considering just so it feels like it'll stop and hold the road.
  13. Good to hear, it'll be coming out. Doesn't solve the other fouling issue but I'm looking at getting CPC to make up a 26 - 25 adaptor plate for me. /hijack. back to Nic's ceffy
  14. What's the round bit above the oil filter? My cut n shut GTR plenum fouls on the bloody thing (and the brake master cylinder)
  15. I've done numerous drives from Canberra - Adelaide, Canberra - Gold Coast in my BF XR6. Most of the time it's in one day just to get it out the way so it's comfy enough for some decent drives. Ride quality is fine and fuel consumption is pretty good. Have made it from Cabarlah in Qld to Dubbo NSW on one tank of BP Ultimate (roughly 750km). Admittedly I did have to do a bit of fuel conservation for the last 90km and rolled into the servo on fumes. Would never do it again though. not worth the worry or dragging the dregs of the tank.
  16. The folks that run NS are planning for this to be a big national thing - every state will be having a big import meet the same thing that day. If it was my call I'd change it as I'll be in Japan on the 15th anyways. I'm kind of hoping a few other NS folks will run with it whilst I'm not here.
  17. I've mounted 3 of mine where the heater control unit is (removed the fascia) along with a thermo fan control switch. Mounted the boos gauge in the driver's side air vent, a 60mm gauge jams in there perfectly. No pics yet as I have to make up a metal plate to neaten it up a bit. The hazzard light button has also been relocated to where the fog light switch was on the RHS of the steering wheel.
