  1. I believe there is also a welsh plug on block, if you want to do a complete drain.
  2. he's not planing on getting a GTR now, he didnt even mention it? For that money you will not find a better car. period. get it before someone else does! cheap motoring. at that price there will be bugger all depreciation. RB25DE is pretty good on fuel too. I average around 9L/100km (manual). Just confirm that he has serviced it and not thrashed it too much! If you've got your auto license but want a manual car, then do your manual test and then look for a manual car. Don't get an auto if you like driving a manual or you will regret it.
  3. yes it made my steering heavy at low speeds, but its not too bad.
  4. Use contact cleaner. I was advised by a repuatable tuner that carby cleaner eats into the finish on the AFM sensor over time (ie with repeated use)
  5. noticed the sedan tail lights - does the vehicle have a front end accident history?
  6. I love what you have done to your car and engine. I'm actually considering doing the same at the moment, although I was thinking of getting a GTS25t, selling the turbo motor, and then going n/a. That way you have the turbo brakes, fuel pump etc and the cash from the motor. This only makes sense to me because I really want an RB30DE. Just an idea... anyway the point of this post was to ask: What is your average fuel economy with the RB30DE in Litres/100km? Thanks mate Looking forward to following the progress of your car
  7. no for bonnet catch as above. air snorkel is above the guide
  8. In my experience, fitting a brake master cylinder brace actually made abs cut in even earlier again
  9. specifically what tyres are on them? eg Bridgestone GIII? also how much tread as a %? thanks
  10. I found a pic of the bar! see attached and also the ebay ad. The rear spoiler on the car is common to the car that i saw with this front bar originally, so maybe they were offered as a nismo option together http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Skyline-93-G...1QQcmdZViewItem
  11. yes, remove it. i use a lock bar. rear end much tighter and predictible
  12. A reasonable price for what looks to be an immaculate car - have you got any pics of the rear?
  13. What a bargain! RB25DE or RB20E?
  14. Being the same engine with a shroud on it, I find it unlikely that there will be any issues, but this is not based on any experience with the engine. Cheers Greg
  15. what colour is it and where are you located?
  16. get a quality muffler which is NOT straight through in design
  17. Sounds like a small loan would be beneficial in your situation. I would personally import through J-spec or another broker. Bring in a dead stock grade 4 car and you shouldn't go too far wrong
  18. Yeah it mainly applies to young drivers with high premium, high excesses and uninsurable mods (by that I mean legal but the insurance company doesn't recognise their value). Something I forgot to mention is the peace of mind that comes with comprehensive insurance... have to place some sort of value on that. FYI I am now comprehensively insured. Just Cars valued my car at agreed value and my premium reduced enough to justfy it. However, it was still marginal whether it was worth it or not. To be predantic, you should factor in the opportunity cost of the funds in the mean time as well - ie interest/return earned on their best alternative use.
  19. You insure for potential outlays which you cannot afford. You need to calculate the true value at risk and then make a decision whether to insure or not based on this. Refer my posts here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...62&hl=insurance
  20. You get what you pay for and the Apexi one is worth it. I have it and I am very happy with it. I recall reading a test where they compared most of the big name jap pods. Apexi was the best for filtration, which for me made the decision easy. I don't want dust going into my engine. At a minimum get a partition to shield it from hot air. A cold air box with a cold air feed to it is preferable. Routing some cold air to my pod with ducting made a noticeable difference to performance, on a hot day.
  21. Nice car Who rebuilt the motor? How do you know the turbo bearings need replacing and not something more serious inside the motor? Not having a go, just curious Thanks
  22. for an RB25DE go no bigger or smaller than 2.5"
  23. they aren't exactly top end tyres so for me it's only worth getting them if they're cheap good luck with sale
  24. $200 if you get desperate
  25. Note that the brochure is referring to a GTR Excellent post Joe I now know the official name of my colour (KN6) I think the brochure has been produced by an American importer to show their potential customers.
