For those who aren't already aware, Christian (PranK, forum owner), and his wife Bec had a baby girl on the weekend!
By all accounts, thankfully, she doesn't look anything like Christian
Congrats from us and bananaman!
Ahhh I see what you mean, I just got hit with the Lewis Homo ad by accidently waving my mouse near the top corner.....and the reply page did not finishing loading until the ad finished.
As Ash said I'm suspect Christian is not aware of or did not agree to such intrusive ads, but it may still take more than a day or 2 to action
BTW Mr Wooster....you have dribbled enough on these pages that its time for you to donate once the facility is back up and running
lead acid battery often won't survive being dead flat - its possible it just won't hold a charge again. I've lost a few over the years by leaving them dead for too long.
dry cell batteries handle this sort of thing pretty easy
Semis or not, I reckon if the open cars aren't down to super car times (ie 1.32) there has been a shitload of money wasted! remember the taxis run small slicks
And I've got to say again, I am amazed how little track time the international drivers have done, even the best drivers will not do their best laps straight up.
It will be a problem if it is CAMS only, unless they run the event for us. We do not have the required trained CAMS officials (CoC, Stewards, Flaggies) to run an event like this on our own.
lol Ash is posessing Steve-o!
Anyway....
Yes people buy from them every day
Every week or 2 someone starts a thread about them taking too long. expect 4-6 weeks like they say
They are cheap
Expect little to no warranty or support - so make sure you order the right thing, or the price won't look so cheap.
If you want the right thing, today, support a local business
I;ve only changed the drums once, and that was froma reakly old and fcuked hub. They are the same as most other drum shoe replacement jobs....fiddly but not hard.
If you haven't done them before just keep careful track of the direction of pins and clips and the order you take them off. Remember to adjust them after the disc is back on so that they don't quite touch with the handbrake off. Its a good opportunity to back off the adjuster in the cabin and take the slack with the adjuster on the cables under the car.
BTW why buy aftermarket drum shoes? standard ones are perfectly capable of holding (or if necessary locking) the rears when adjusted properly.
lol flux capacitors.....one day mine will see the sunlight again.
stay away from the cheap willwood callipers they are poor quality and flex like crazy. obviously their expensive stuff is as good as anyone else's expensive stuff.
the only brakes i would spend money on for a budget build are the ksport/d2/g4/whatever 8 piston ones. I have 3 sets of them on different cars, they are excellent
thanks for the details Trent...have just been trying to work out the best floor. ANything needed to maintain it once it is down?
BTW +1 for tyre racks...take up very little space but free up heaps. I have 13 tyres on my verandah and 4 more at Neil's place.....
I think it would be a great idea, we have a lot of trouble with getting available weekend times for our regular events like Wakefield Park and the Nirimba skid pan.
Can you check out the cost to book, recommended max number of entrants, and who can provide insurance/permit (hopefully AASA).
lol what would I know about tyre performance eh?
Since I was trying to be polite before.....you would have to be a real dickhead, more interested in what you think looks good rather than performance, to run a tyre stretched beyond manufacturer and tyre fitter recommendations.
Now way do you have some amazing secrets that the rest of the world hasn't caught on to.
Let me know when you find any sort of race car (where tyre performance is paramount) running unsafe stretched tyres. In the meantime I'll stick to putting the right sized tyres on the right sized rims.
ouch...love to know how that occurred!
anyway...that is the hub assembly, it is cast 1 piece....you need a new one (could weld up and get a new bearing but it wouldn't be cheaper)
Just wanted to remind people of this post. My car (10/97, very late model S1) has the same, R34 GT rear brakes. S1 owners be careful!
Having said that I am probably going to change to 32 gtr rears for ease of pad and rotor sourcing, but just thought I would mention.
Regarding the media coverage....this is a terrible thing to happen and it was covered on most of the sydney news bulletins last night. While the ch9 coverage was pretty offensive and devoid of facts, kudos to ch7 and ch10 for sticking to reporting and not taking the chance to put the boot into this community at a time like this. And equally thumbs up to the police who never made any suggestion of anything other than that an investigation was underway.
No need to dwell on those clowns though, let's keep this about Tom and Gerard.
much more likely to be the sender in the tank than the dash.
almost every car uses a sender that changes resistance based on the level of fuel. c34 certainly does and mine was rubbish (just changed it), all good now
