  1. yay for chinese junk works damn fine on my rb30
  2. I think it would be a great idea, we have a lot of trouble with getting available weekend times for our regular events like Wakefield Park and the Nirimba skid pan. Can you check out the cost to book, recommended max number of entrants, and who can provide insurance/permit (hopefully AASA).
  3. Thanks for the details to Nick - I have organised time off work to be at both
  4. I run one in the race car and find it fine.
  5. Hi mate, Paul is on here as MountainRunner. Let me know if you can't catch him I can probably dig up alternative contact details.
  6. lol what would I know about tyre performance eh? Since I was trying to be polite before.....you would have to be a real dickhead, more interested in what you think looks good rather than performance, to run a tyre stretched beyond manufacturer and tyre fitter recommendations. Now way do you have some amazing secrets that the rest of the world hasn't caught on to. Let me know when you find any sort of race car (where tyre performance is paramount) running unsafe stretched tyres. In the meantime I'll stick to putting the right sized tyres on the right sized rims.
  7. ouch...love to know how that occurred! anyway...that is the hub assembly, it is cast 1 piece....you need a new one (could weld up and get a new bearing but it wouldn't be cheaper)
  8. hasn't the tone of this thread changed in the last 7 days.
  9. Just wanted to remind people of this post. My car (10/97, very late model S1) has the same, R34 GT rear brakes. S1 owners be careful! Having said that I am probably going to change to 32 gtr rears for ease of pad and rotor sourcing, but just thought I would mention.
  10. Regarding the media coverage....this is a terrible thing to happen and it was covered on most of the sydney news bulletins last night. While the ch9 coverage was pretty offensive and devoid of facts, kudos to ch7 and ch10 for sticking to reporting and not taking the chance to put the boot into this community at a time like this. And equally thumbs up to the police who never made any suggestion of anything other than that an investigation was underway. No need to dwell on those clowns though, let's keep this about Tom and Gerard.
  11. much more likely to be the sender in the tank than the dash. almost every car uses a sender that changes resistance based on the level of fuel. c34 certainly does and mine was rubbish (just changed it), all good now
  12. standard computer is reprogrammable. that would be the cheapest option i guess
  13. btw interesting anti-dive in the castor rod spacers at the front....looks simple and worth trying
  14. sorry no actual detail...anything with gears in it is too complex for me. I know they add extra clutch plates of extra thickness to the centre, and that they immediately understood what I meant so I assume it was simple/common enough. my instructions were "I want it tight enough so it clunks in carparks" and it came back perfect. Same for transfer case too, extra clutch plates in there bring on the 4wd sooner which is welcome
  15. both cracked subframes were are the same place, the main loop between the front and rear mounts, right up at the chassis. was easy enough to tig up but would be careful with load on the rear of these. c34 on the other hand have steel subframe not aluminium
  16. lol that's not how it works. in 12 months you will be selling it and buying a "sensible, family" car hope it all goes well
  17. At least there is something to bring us together at this crappy time....SAU NSW members please refer to the thread in the members area. Alex, thanks for your courage facing the internet today, everyone here supports you and the families and friends remaining. Please pm when one of the exec with your contact details when you feel ready to talk about how we can help
  18. yes we will...and we will have a club members marquee in the padock too
  19. like I said, I thought more people would have this point of view. AASA and Irace are for you....just run wot you brung
  20. I've seen 2 M35s (neither with tow bars) on the hoist now having their alloy subframes welded up. I wouldn't tow a box trailer behind one.
  21. lol this hairdresser's car? its been sold, leaving on friday. I didn't supply this pic
  22. Not sure, drop Steve-o a pm on that one Sorry no, Superlap are making us pre-order to get the discounted prices. And please everyone remember this offer closes Monday 17 May, ie we must have received the money by then
  23. no problems at all with a 1 piece, plenty of people use them. In your case you need to watch out for driveshaft angles of course being a custom setup
  24. only a loaner for a few days. It does get lots of looks in traffic, and drives well. Needs a dirty big turbo and/or supercharger to ruin it's fuel economy
  25. lol I've got one of these funny little things in my front yard as of yesterday!
