  1. What does everyone use for parkers when they do this? Or just not fit any?
  2. The big issue? It isn't safety. It isn't the public concern. It isn't fear of "hoons". It isn't vehicles that ACTUALLY pose a safety risk (ie. the pulsar with bald tyres dead shocks and no brakes. It's money: http://www.who.int/tobacco/healthwarningsdatabase/tobacco_medium_australia_statistics_02_b_en/en/index.html Smoking causes more deaths each year than anything else combined. But ACA doesn't want to run stories showing 5 minutes of a 25 yo smoking a cigarette when there can be up-roar over a VL Calais doing a skid. So long as there is a dollar or two up for grabs to line the coffers, so long as on-the-spot fines can be issued without any actual cause, so long as mobile speed cameras can book someone and make millions a year for the people doing 103km/h, it's a losing battle. Rego, insurance, maintenance and there-fore GST, fines (if you're un-fortunate enough), speeding and parking tickets are a multi-million dollar industry for every state. No, I don't think it's right that TRUE enthusiasts are discriminated against. It is time to take action and draw the line before we're all driving camrys. More 1/4's are being reduced to 1/8's, insane, biased brutal laws are introduced due to blind stupidity on the publics behalf and the situation is degrading quickly. If all clubs, enthusiasts, after-market parts manufacturers and even the kid with a VN and enclosed pod filter get together and make a stand instead of whinging on forums, then things CAN change.... TL;DR? This is a good idea....
  3. For the moment, have to call bulls***, as much as i'm for a good cheap deal, this one seems too cheap and too good, and the graph looks like it was done with excel.... If he's actually done it, f*** yeah and well done. full tune and more boost should make ~300rwkw? Good work.
  4. The big problem is that people with engineered mods still get defected.....
  5. +1 Prolonged operation at 3000rpm for a motor that revs to 7000 isn't going to hurt it Mine sits on 2250-2300 at 100km/h from memory.
  6. WOW. 10/10 for being persistent! But fair to say if anyone here got ripped that much they'd keep looking too. You have his account no's, phone number, name, face-book, SAU profile, and a photo, and the police "can't do anything"? Try find his rego and lodge multiple reports of him doing skids, that'll find him in under a week on national news.....
  7. Agreed, Why would they charge you for being "run off the road"?
  8. Hey mate. The stock oil filter thread for RB25 is 3/4X16 UNF, the seal diameter is 63mm, (off the measurements of a Z145A): http://www.rycofilte...l+GQ/part/Z145A The differing end parts in that link are the size of the holes for the lines to run off, ie. if you have -10AN lines, buy an adapter to accept -10AN lines, based on this you'd want part no. 12401131, only problem is that the seals 3mm smaller. I haven't had my oil filter off in a while so can't say if this would seal properly, so long as there's a machined flat surface 1.5 mm in from where the filter seal sits, that adapter would be fine. Hope that helps. EDIT: Yes, the 62mm item would be best as .5mm smaller seal each side shouldn't affect anything.
  9. WTF? Must you use the "words" mint/minter/mintest 1000 times on average per thread? For all you know it was rolled 30 times and repaired properly before you got it.....
  10. I don't think anyone actually got what I was getting at with that quote....
  11. Not at all. But why not stop people doing this purely by bulk presence, as in zero tolerance out of the event? Instead of setting up a defect central zone BEFORE they get there? Doing skids leaving the gate etc. is plain stupid and obviously bad for it's image, so that sort of thing SHOULD be targeted, not the ones behaving themselves driving sensibly to somewhere safe to let loose.....
  12. Defendant- "I WAS doing 100km/h" Officer- "I THINK he was doing 130km/h" Case closed......
  13. They don't have to defect cars with illegal mods or for being unroadworthy. Even a bone stock car "can" be defected for suspicion of modifications. If you go out doing 200km/h on a back road at 3am and don't get caught, then go to summernats, get defected on the way there, EPA'd in the mail, what are you going to do from then on? These events need to be encouraged and supported by police, defecting someone for an empty washer bottle on a sunny day is not support....
  14. But if your concerned it won't fit or will have impaired air flow in the drivers side arch, and don't want to mount it out front, how is it a "stupid" idea? 50cm longer lines with fittings shouldn't be more than $30-$40 each?
  15. I'd imagine you could get it mounted in the passenger side since it won't be blocking the intercooler with a front mount?
  16. What the warranty's actually worth is a different story, I meant if a local business is willing to back a product, then they must have some faith in it, compared to a faceless ebay company. Word of mouth goes along way, if everyone you talked through said "item X by brand Y" is crap, you wouldn't buy it.....
  17. Cheers Same problem i'm having, the missing features are simply "add on", but it's not that simple. This is the plate i'll most likely be using (part no. 12401114). It mounts say on the strut tower, and goes in between an adaptor plate from the engine and the oil cooler, flows oil through the filter when cold then filter and cooler when it gets to +80 degrees celcius. http://greddy.net.au...&SubCategory=88 Other option is something like this: http://www.motionaer...Thermostats.pdf Same job, but would fit in the return line to the engine (effectively) Hope that helps.
  18. I think is someones willing to provide a replacement warranty on an item and put their name to it then it can't be as bad as ebay etc? Can someone recommend a good brand/quality oil cooler and adaptor plate? I'd be happy to spend a few extra dollars for good gear, then have the lines made up....
  19. Looked at this option too, i'd much rather the thermostat though as it automatically controls the oil temp by keeping it at ~80-90 degrees, rather than just removing the cover when the weather's hot. Over cooled oil will do as little as under cooled oil, thus everyone says/knows not to flog a cold car as there is pressure but low flow to the internals.....
  20. Usually get it from underneath to try save on mess, I line the sub-frame rack etc with rags/towels to catch any oil, then wash it down after.
  21. By the looks of it, i'm looking at an extra $300 or more for the convenience of not having to crawl under the car to change the filter. Worked it out to $690 to make a kit using the Greddy plate, a universal cooler/relocator kit and making an extra line. Might be better off just spending ~$450 and getting the HEL kit...
  22. I wasn't talking about using second hand stuff in particular, there's loads of kits in the for sale section for >$300, personally i'd rather go for new with warranty and spend a bit extra, just not the 4 figures Greddy wants. Majority of the kits I can find on SAU go for $400-$600. Some with warranty, so I don't see a real problem with the "cheaper" kits, especially on a car that will be used mostly for the street: Vulture Motorsport: http://www.skylinesa...relocation-kit/ Risking: http://www.skylinesa..._1#entry6125302 Just Jap: (includes 12 month warranty) http://www.skylinesa...-latest-design/ H.E.L. (PM-R33) http://www.skylinesa...-kit-group-buy/ At this stage i'm trying to find a reliable way to get a genuine Greddy thermostatic plate. This with a basic cooler/relocator kit that all come with -10 male fittings, and an extra line to join it together. If I can do it for the same money, i'll buy the plates and core seperately, and make up all 4 lines to get everything I want, plus not having extra line everywhere. Speed-flow/pro-flow connectors (and even the basic rubber hose) is rated to 1000psi burst pressure and 150 degrees operating temp.....
  23. Who made up your lines mate? Or did you get pro-flow/speed-flow etc. stuff and make them up yourself? http://pfefittings.com/product_info.php?cPath=5_6&products_id=5118
