  1. just lol at that G power M5! The inside looks like it could be a "Sandman" Panel Van! Certainly got some grunt in it. Wouldn't like to try to change the spark plugs 300ZX?
  2. Spotted a Gold M35 ARX parked in Hornsby, Sydney this morning - maybe Eugene or Danny?
  3. Audi RS6 Avant for me V10 out of Lambo, with 2 turbos added on for kicks! Now to the newsagent to get lotto numbers...
  4. OK, so you know your way round a spanner then I won't talk about the VQ25, because I think if you took a similar line to what you did with a R33, you'd end up with a VQ35 with internals etc etc. What you really need to look at is parts from the US and cars like the G35 coupe/sedan, what we call the V35 over here/Japan. There are a mass of parts for them, mainly stateside, including everything you would ever want to do to it- High rev NA, or 8.5:1 forged Twin turbos. Strokers out to 4.2. you get the idea. Cosworth even have a fully preped short block for sale. The gearbox is where I think most of us are stuck at the moment. 2 hi pow M35's have both had gearbox issues, Guys in the states seem to hold up ok, but I haven't found details on what they have done to their boxs. Options are : strengthen the existing box, go RWD with a V35/350Z manual conversion, or if you want a Drag auto box AWD from a GTR, i'm sure you have got to the stage where if you throw $ at it, someone will make it work. hope it helps a bit- go use the interwebs to get more info heres a bit of driveline porn from me: VQ42TT 350Z 760rwhp
  5. lol. easy tiger. Spoke to Jetwreck yesterday. Yes, it'll be happening. Just got to wait for the details. I'm as keen as anybody to check out some great C34's and M35's
  6. Best thing you can do for to make sure, and the easiest, is to get someone with a R33 and just test fit both your wheels on it for clearance. I'm sure that you wont have an issue with a +20, but always best to double check hey? Wagons don't attract much attention...
  7. Yep Exactly what Dale said. The only trouble that we run into is that wheels need to fit the extra clearance in the Brake caliper. Std wheels generally won't, but by the look of it you don't have stocks. Also gives you access to a great range of Brake Pads- you could go and get some decent race pads for your track days Oh, and R32 GTR are the same - just the disc is 296mmx32mm
  8. I have other ideas, but thats for a later thread. I will not be running 8psi on a VQ35 thats for sure. That would make a mess of it pretty quick i should think. HKS suggest a max of .35 BAR / 5psi on stock rods. Then theres the bloody gearbox
  9. I think I got a bargain then! If your into forced induction, the VQ25det is the only way to go. The VQ35 is frail compared to it, and really needs full internals before adding a decent amount of boost. That being said, I'm not taking my own advice (isn't that always the way...) Also its not as easy as a RB. If your after a tried and true method, get a C34/ 260 . If your up for a challenge - NM35
  10. Any update/outcome on this Dale...? It has suddenly dawned on me how annoying it is living in a road with a CBR250RR rider. I don't mind bikes, but that has to be one of the most annoying noises to hear everyday- there is nothing funny about having to go up a street at 10,000rpm slowly.
  11. buy a commo.... single wheel skids is obviously your thing. Or spend the 1k on a LSD and make Jetwreck jealous! Dropped exhaust in today to get a few more inches- My measuring sucks. Has anyone with a NM35 found if the V35 coupe midepipe fits...? larger pipe, single resonator and CHEAP!
  12. Sorry to hear that mate, that sucks after missing out on Putty road as well! catch up soon Have fun!
  13. Yeah, I think a drive might be a good way to unwind from work. Hope to have a few things sorted on the car by then Nick in his C34 should be coming, any other Sydney stags? SAU social cruise 26th Feb
  14. Spotted Cass' skyrice today, parked up at work I guess. I was visiting the business either side of you.
  15. Better off buying a PM35, and a V35 1/2 cut manual. And you'd prob come out on top for the price too... I'm in. I'll be a loner in the corner, if TonkaChow doesn't come....
  16. 3.5? Always will be a difference in Price. Its a better car. Things are different, more refined, some more technology in it. Some of the prices asked on NM35's I've seen, the 3.5 is a no-brainer at a few grand dearer. Obviously mine came from Northshore. I can't say a bad word about them. They let the cars do the talking- they are a notch above IMO. After sales support is also top notch. PLENTY of people have flown, bought and driven home from that place
  17. Fitted a 350Z midpipe to mine today. Got a muffler guy to weld 6 inches onto the end to make it PM35 length. in retrospect 7 inches is the go, 6 inches works but is too short. Hangers are identical. A V35 coupe will bolt straight in I believe, I got the Z because it was ....cheap This is the difference- 1 big muffler in the std one, and a resonator in the 350Z. Sounds great on the car, brings the tone to life without being too loud/droney Oh, and about 7 kgs difference in weight! Oh and the diameter is bigger too... win!
  18. So did you actually buy the full HKS kit? From the pic of the engine bay, doesn't really look like the kit. Just interested how much fiddling would be needed to make it fit. Mostly i'm concerned about the Turbo outlet--> intercooler, with the front Drive shaft. Info muchly appreciated
  19. Craig, that is a Stupid question- I already know the answer DCDC- is yours making power, or still in the build? If your in Sydney, I want to see your car.
  20. I guess no need since your intake is exhaust heated... Whats a guy to do if he found a very cheap Z33 HKS GT3037 turbo kit...? Thoughts?
  21. In a VQ35 the intake is heated via a coolant circulated around the Plenum, just behind the TB. Basically takes it right out of the main metal coolant lines. It circulates up into the Plenum via a small rubber hose and then back down the other side behind the motor. You can see in the pic, companies sell little gadgets to re-route coolant past the TB, but all you really need is time, a bit of brass pipe the right size, and a couple of small clamps. Edit - the reason its heated is to stop the TB sticking in below freezing climates. So don't do it if you live in the snow. If it never gets that cold where you are, its just making your intake hot... make sense?
  22. Deleted the VQ35 Throttle body warmer/coolant loop today. $2 of clamps, quite a bit of swearing- bloody tight some of these places on these cars! You VQ25dets have the same system? You might find you got your lovely HDI intercooler only to be running air through a 70oC Throttle
  23. Just try your BC's first. when they go a bit lower, the wheels tuck quite a bit. They can have that camber BS IMO. Great way to reduce grip/power and make it undrivable.
  24. 1- possible 2- maybe 3- I don't think 20yo Sumitomo's are "Bling..." The main problem that I get with the stock brakes is that after just one hard application I feel the stock rotors warp, and shudder. Driving round normally, there is no shudder, but once you step on it once, the things warp. I think the Rotors are soft- it seems a common progression with modern cars- once upon a time, I went 260k kms with just a hint of a lip on a rotor. These days I hear people driving daily's replacing rotors after 40k kms. Just remember- Nissan put these brakes on a car 400kg lighter than ours, the 350Z. But on the track model they put Brembo. I can think of a group of cars that have all brake options - a compo could be good!
  25. Ok, better say what I have done somewhat lately - Tiptronic was reversed, to stop me changing down gears... GB sway bars I put on last weekend, and Lowered Eibach springs went on earlier this week- waitin on 19" Rims, lowered ,the 17 " stockies look.... ridiculous! Car handles Amazingly for simple upgrades, much more faith in it. R32 GTR brakes are waiting for the new wheels to come along, so I can stop properly Picked up a Z33 midpipe today from Northshore Prestige (thanks Guys). Thats an upgrade to the massive/quiet centre muff that on there. Apparently just got to get it extended 6 inches...
