i think most people have just done a brake upgrade when they've needed to be done haha
-
dunno bout the others but the rears are DB1399 as i've just ordered a set today. Even checked my old ones against the book they had.

so i made the missus move her car out of the garage so i could have somewhere flat to jack it up and pulled the caliper off and it appears the pads are excessively worn, as in there is no pad left. they look alot different to my old vl's ones when they're in hence me assuming they weren't worn, but they definately are f***ed. Ordered a new set from Repco should be here tuesday. Glad it's an easy fix

Hey all, just want to know what i should be checking. My car just got back from the mechanic to have clutch replaced, i've done approx 110kms on it since and i've noticed the rear passenger side brake has started rubbing. Can't see how the two could be related but just thought i'd throw that in there. Is definately rubbing cause it's started scratching into the disc on the outside edge. From the edge to about 8mm in is constant marking and then in a few small patches about halfway through the contact area. What things should i check and how to do so?? To me the pads don't appear excessively worn as its pretty much the same as the driver side which isn't rubbing.

Buyer's Guide - The Nissan C34 Stagea

IMO go for the slightly more expensive one, i saw that particular one come up a couple months after i bought mine and thought dam, though it used to be advertised at $15,000 so ask the seller bout that. u will end up wanting to do alot of those mods anyway after a couple months of owning it. *Edit - and the dayz bodykits look alot better then the standard one plus those second front fog lights are pretty rare -

got an exedy heavy duty. by the feel of it should be right for a while in regards to holding power, not that i have any plans for more power atm anyway. and yes apart from the clutch going (probly more my fault anyway, few too many hard launches), and a mate broke the lever in the boot for folding down the rear seat (he was drunk and tried to demonstrate how it works to another guy interested in buying a stagea, but never had the chance to look at one in person before, and he pulled it way to hard) but that's fixed now too, it's run perfectly. couple issues with getting the new head unit to work but that's a problem with head unit not the car. definately very happy with it. Did you know it's been in an accident at some point though? tried to get one of those towbars from the guy on here, and when the local towbar guys tried to fit it they said it was a bit out of allignment. so haven't got that sorted yet. really should get onto it. and got 2 new tyres and they said same thing, been in accident. -
Pretty sure mine are the heated mirrors, which i find ironic given that i live in townsville, nth qld. haha been cold for us the last couple days (8 degrees) and i start work at 5am so have been figuring out buttons on the way to work and yeah when i turned rear demister on mirrors defogged really quickly.

makes it look like it's a base model or something ie rather than an autech stagea, or gtr skyline its just a cheap model -
Yeah when i first took it to them he got the mechanic to crawl under it quickly and have a look (cause i told him i wasn't quite sure what they had used for the conversion) and i'm pretty sure he said it was a push type then. He quoted me $550 for the clutch plus labour but i don't know if that'll change with the new one.

"the Olds" 1St Stagea Cruise - Sth Aust

Hey just a quick question, looking at your pic i've decided i like the way your rims sit. Just wondering what size and offset they are?? Sorry to all i know this isn't to do with the cruise. -
Well i just picked the car up from the mechanic and it's still got my old busted clutch in it. Apparently they pulled it apart and found they had ordered the wrong one. So have another week with having to go really slowly everywhere. On the upside though found out the guys who did the manual conversion before i got it used an R32 Gtr gearbox. So that's a bonus!!! I now know what's actually in it.

i got a small chip in mine when driving it home (1600km north) from Brisbane, got it repaired as soon as i got it back. after it was done could barely see it, now i can't find it even if i look for it, (i still remember roughly where it is) so IMO was worth the $40 i paid. They used some liquid/gel stuff that hardens once inside the crack, and wipe excess off while its wet. as i say no complaints and well worth it.

I would like to say go to town on the stagea, but i know what its like trying to save for other stuff to, especially since i don't earn anything that u could even remotely compare to a small fortune so i'm gonna have to say go with option 2 'Keep it (just wheels and springs and brakes)' -

loving the add on to the front bar, though seems to be angled backwards a touch (rear lower than front) is that just the photo? or meant to be like that? -
Queensland Stagea Crusie And Dyno Day - July 2011
Pft shh 89 replied to darrinspencer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
yeah as i said mine is really bad basically no boost any gear otherwise it slips i believe the one the guy here recommended was the NPC heavy duty organic, not sure on exact specs but this is from the NPC website about it 'NPC starts off with a standard premium quality clutch plate and pressure plate and increases the clamp pressure between 20 to 45% above standard specifications. Combine this increase in clamp pressure with a full faced premium quality disc and smooth engagement is achieved and in most cases without extra pedal effort. This style of clutch is ideal for 4 x 4 enthusiasts, tow vehicles, commercial vehicles and modified road cars used everyday with occasional strip use' ATM i have FMIC, exhaust (looks to be cat and back) and obviously manual (but it's conversion done by someone else), and a pod filter of some dome shape that I've never seen before. Will that clutch be ok? or do i need heavier? id like to do more to it but as i said funds for upgrading the stag will be limited for quite a while -

Guessing by qld u guys mean Brisbane area, im in qld but way up north so would have 2 do some serious saving to make it to this meet haha so i doubt thats gonna happen, especially since the gf has started hinting that she doesn't have a ring to fit this finger (pretty sure u can all figure out which one she's pointing to lol) and need a new clutch as mine is slipping really bad. off topic whats a good one to get and how much am i looking at?? reputable workshop up here in townsville has said NPC?? anybody got anything to say bout these?? good or bad?? mayb lots of notice for next qld cruise so us not in SE corner can organise a weekend away. -
i could go a set of them, find out a price??
