Crusing in the UK has been banned.
The_Paladin replied to Zagan's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Mambastu..............from what i've seen over here you've hit the nail right on the head apparently insurance is a joke, which stops most people from modding.........but still.........there's no excuse for some of the shite that goes around...... what part of the UK are you from? i have the feeling that it will vary from place to place........ the most common type of jap motor i see modded where i am is mid 90's Honda Preludes.... one thing the UK has over australia is the amature motorsport...........i was reading something about an event called the Hannibal Run...........from what it was saying there's no way in hell the cops would let anything like that go ahead in australia...... -

i'm in the UK the car scene here is a joke........its really devided. if the cars are 'good' they're GREAT....there is a hand full of supra's and skylines etc going around that are absolute weapons.......but they could be counted on one hand. Fast and Modified (scottish car mag, only one!) this month featured a puegot 106 (it's like a barina) which had NO performance mods, only rice. and it was the feature car. the owner said, and i quote "if you have the style sorted, why drive fast? If you drive fast no one can see you" i'm taking the mag back to aus for a laugh. the cars here simply arn't powerfull................... yeah the all go for a carpark...........no laps or anything. it is trouble most of the time. -
they would have to confiscate all cars or no cars for just simply being there........... if they pick and choose when no offence is committed then it is blanent discrimiation. which is illegal and anyone convicted would have a damn good chance in court. sounds like the cop either didnt know what he was talking about or got it confused with something else..........who knows........

Car Cruizn Music + SAU Theme song
The_Paladin replied to dale's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Bethovents 9th 4th movement (Ode To Joy) the chourus would make the ultimate race music. for those who dont know which one that is..........its the one they used in the Evangellion ad's on SBS (when it was on) and Clockwork Orange Motzarts Requim Mass..............the closest thing classical music got to metal. Bach's Branenburg Concerto was better than Air on a G String...... -
Boycott the site problem solved. if they have dodgy sponsors others will boycott too.

Warfies are tools..........we need another 'Roll on' style strike/get fired inncedent to thin out their ranks....... Queensland is allways behind Vic -
they have cars in tassie? targa tassie i spose eh. anyway............yeah i think you'd have bugger all chance of stopping it because the bulk of the population support anti hooning laws......i spose its a good thing that the bulk of the population has the most effect on the laws. dont fight it. just keep what you do quiet.........there are no cops out in the middle of no where at dawn.......and that is where you should be letting off your steam if there is no strip or track anywhere near you. for the people that get caught and done for hooning laws while in populated/built up areas, screw em. they knew the game before they played it.......if you keep it legal there's no problems.....well....thats the idea. but there are cases where a young driver has been pinned for hooning when the charge should have been speeding, this is BS and shouldnt be on. good luck down there!

Mines Datsun moved to SA?

paulr33......if you inserted a bus stop in that diagram you would have had a Mines Datsun

"its just stupid to say a skyline is BUILT to be dangerous. Skylines are built for speed" Speed is what makes a car dangerous........i'd rather be hit by a barina doing top speed than a skyline. so if speed is what makes it dangerous and skylines are built for speed then skylines are built to be dangerous........... makes sense
-
take note of how every person over the age of 22 who owns a GTR, is saying if they had a GTR at 17 they would have killed themselves........i'd take that pretty seriously......... if it was just for track the insurance would be different would it??

How do you guys afford such nice cars?!
The_Paladin replied to Jaxe's topic in General Automotive Discussion
it's just the choices you make..........you guys are spot on about not smoking, drinking. anyone can get a skyline if they get it on a loan. but if they do kiss goodbye to freedom for a few years. you cant do stuff like quit a full time job to go look for another one because you think the boss is a nob (something i've done). if i had a car loan to pay off i'd think i'd still be in that place feeling damn pissed off. pay it all off, if you need a loan you cant afford it. if you cant afford it dont buy it. banks are there to screw people and make money. like i said, choices. %99 of people under 21 who own a skyline live at home (no/cheap rent bills, food etc). is there anyone here who's an exception?? who here under 21 owns and maintains a skyline under their own earning and lives out of home..........i'm sure there's some. -
its danger is measured in its potential......yes any car is dangerous if misused. but skylines are designed to go fast, high acceleration etc. they're the atributes that make a car dangerous........ as a completly different example. a machinegun locked away where no one can get it, is still a dangerous weapon.......... mx5 good call
-
i think there should be power laws in all states..........keep p platers out of nice cars. less mines datsuns. less to pay for insurance. less written off skylines...... GTR - 17 - bad idea
-
skylines are a purpose built car. that purpose is to go fast. yes anyone can be dangerous in any car but skylines are designed to be dangerous bad move for a first car.
-
"Holden and Ford were the only manufacturers to continue to support Australian motorsport and good on them!" yes true..........while australian motorsport remains a massive product placement adventure. i said this in the sports board. bathurst etc is now only an advert. it's not a sport at all. shame shame shame

For Sale or swap; 1992 Soarer Twin Turbo Modified
The_Paladin replied to a topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
that guy in the photo has a nice arse......... free bum(p) -
the 2 guys i knew who were skyline owners (both young 20's) had crashes due to the cars power......both were turbo 32's start low and build up............dont tie yourself to such an investment at such a young age. ALL your money will go into such a car, plenty of time for that......... a N/A 32 or something would be a good one though...........cheaper, less powerful, lower insurance!

Did anyone here go on the Boostcruising Skyline Cruise in January???
The_Paladin replied to 32ANA's topic in Queensland
be glad that hey at least try to hide it in aus over here i was reading a car mag whic was compring 2 r34's one gt-t one gtr. sying the differences etc, it was quite apparent that the thing was 'sponsored' by an importing company. they failed to mention why both cars featured had GTR badges on them. it looked reeeeealy stupid, made the mag and importer look like a rice field. even if you didnt know anything about cars you could have put 2 and 2 together. jap imports are not big here. i've seen as many ferrari's than skylines here. -

The_Paladin replied to Dragon18's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
should have got the cop for sexual discrimiation..............THAT would have been priceless... chicks driving nice cars is great, whoever has the 'boys club' menality about cars needs to get a life. then again.........modern science thinks that men have better sparital awareness and motor skills (motor as in moving, not cars, but applies to driving) so they would be better drivers, one of the benifits of having to stand up to pee. -
I'll go the neons..........£5

im in a pub in edinburgh i just paid $8 for a milkshake it was crap too at least the have the net i miss the coast!!

in one way we can all hope its the line going off the clif (more parts lying around) but if the skyline looses i say there should be a SAU outing to picket outside the TV studio
