  1. hahahaha true............... it must be some dickhead extange program.........
  2. i'm Edinburgh! where are all you brit people??? are you'se travelers, ex-pat's or locals?? there are so many bloody aussies over here.........
  3. the general brit public and cars are a bad combination........... is anyone here actually living in the UK?
  4. what are you running ATM?
  5. hahahahahahahahahha urban assault vehicle is the perfect way to discribe them!!! ok...........problems with 4X4's abridged...... 1. Very dangerous in accidents, much higher chance of killing pedestrans and people in other cars......their hight bypasses many impact safty features of other cars........so mums buy these cars to drive around schools.......good one.... 2. restricts vision..........too bloody hard to see past them when you're behind one.....yes busses are the same but there's actually a point to them... 3. Fuel consumption.............might not seem like an issue to you but it would if you're a marine getting his arse shot off in Iraq so the yanks can drive SUV's...... that's just 3....................people have no right at all to drive them in urban arears just because going off road is their hobby (and so few take them offroad) they've got just as much right as some on else hooning around in a NOS charged car with neons all around it cause the modding scene is their hobby........... DEATH TO 4x4'S
  6. driving to the conditions is a big one too.......... seeing people drive the usual 110kmph + 5kmph + 10% down to brissie when it's pissing rain and visibility is more than half'd because it's so fearce........ people not slowing down in the wet, using their lights when it's dark..... now i'm just bitching.......
  7. i voted arrogance for type of car......... 4X4's biggest hate...........saw someone at work nearly get run down by a speeding one today, yes, female driver.......... people who think that having a performance car gives them the right to speed, lower stopping distance and to overtake everything is another thing becomming a lot more common.......... it's elitist bullshite drink driving is also another big one............ driving tired is a huge killer that i think should have gotten a mention.........
  8. Klms dont mean shite is a pretty damn clear number when you think about it........it only was ever a guide....... you could have car X that's done 60k's on the clock with the interior wear to match.......but if it's been driven by a 17 yearold who winds the boost up, revs the shite out of it on a daily basis and sticks the wrong fuel in it to save money........ Car X could have genuine low Klms but still last a lot less with something with twice the distance but a lot more TLC put into it............. ..........that goes for all cars not just the imports.....
  9. yep should be 18...............cars and people at school are a bad mix......
  10. bang on the mark straightsix.............i was reading a book today called Crap Cars (i think it's only availabe in the UK) about all the dud's from each manufacturer........and the 924 was porshe's saying porshe was to manufacture a 2 door sports car for VW but VW pulled out after the car was developed and so porshe badged it themselves..........
  11. good point keep left..... mass advanced driver training for the young would definatly make some people way over confident. and more likely to drive in dangerous situations........ it's only effective with maturity attached to it......but anything to do with driving is like that
  12. Driver facilitys would be fantasitc.............but ultimatly wouldnt work..............i reckon a good % of the hoons doing 200 in a 50 zone arn't doing that to show off their cars, driver thrill etc.........it's to be rebellious by breaking the law. they're doing it cause they're not allowed too, the thrill from the risk factor of getting caught. the highest speed limits on aus roads are 110kph (sept highways out west, but the numbers of cars there are extremely low compaired to the signed highways) why not speed limit cars to 120kph? that dosent ban racing for anyone.........you can still buy and transport a car for racing.................it just keeps high speed racing off the roads. i'm not sure i'd want that to actually happen..........but there's not reason for it not to really. why would anyone need to drive a street legal car over 110kph? (000 services are the exception though) i reckon they should crack down on senior drivers too.........interestingly enough if the papers printed "Senior Drivers Meanacing Streets" there'd be an outcry................ males under 25 are still more likely to be involved in a crash than any other demograph. that has to be remembered.............
  13. some will argue this.............but i dont reckon it's possible to buy, pay insurance and maintain a decent sports car on the cheap. it cost's money.....................the insurance for a 19 year old male driving a porshe too would be nucking futs.
  14. probbaly has the suspension of a shopping trolly
  15. i played Inital D the other day for the first time................ i was at a small arcade and i managed to finish Crisis Zone (time crisis with a submachine gun) with one credit, the manager was watching and congradulated me, i asked for a free game as a prize, which i got, so i played Inital D I thought it was pretty crap..........the only thing special about it is the RPG element, and you get to race jap cars.............the actual game play wasnt groundbreaking and the shift up down gear box is taking the piss...............
  16. maybe its that same dude who spammed SAU with a whole heap of PM's a few months ago.............
  17. from carpoint............... "4WD demystified The term four-wheel drive (4WD) doesn't make all 4WD systems the same. In fact, there's a huge variation in features and design of what seems a simple principle - getting power to four wheels. Here's a simple, postage stamp description of what '4WD' is… Part-time 4WD Rear-wheel drive only for dry, paved surfaces while the driver manually selects 4WD via electronic activation (a switch on the dash), or by the transfer lever on the floor. When 4WD is engaged, the transfer case locks in so power is split equally between front and rear wheel sets. Advantages: Simplicity and less wear and tear on mechanical components, and slightly lower fuel consumption in 2WD mode. Disadvantages: 4WD can be used only on slippery surfaces (such as dirt or gravel roads, or very wet paved roads) or transfer case damage can occur. Full-time 4WD Keeps all four wheels at the ready to receive power at all times. In extreme conditions you can be stuck with one wheel spinning, so most have other traction aids, from a simple locking centre diff (which makes the system effectively part-time), to electronic traction control. Advantages: Gives 4WD grip in all but the slipperiest situations, no levers or buttons to flick, until it gets really slippery. Disadvantages: Isn't truly 4WD on low traction surfaces when left to its own devices (unless traction control or locking/limited slip diffs are also fitted). Selectable 4WD A full-time 4WD system that you can choose to drive in either 2WD, like a part-time 4WD, or full-time 4WD on paved surfaces. Advantages: Best of both worlds. Disadvantages: Complex system. On-demand 4WD Takes the best of part-time and full-time systems and attempts to combine them in a foolproof, user-friendly system. No 4WD expertise is required. Basically, the car runs in two-wheel drive until the system (which can be electronic, hydraulic or a combination of both) senses that one axle is spinning faster than the other and shuttles power to the 'dead' axle. Advantages: Less drag on components, potentially allowing better performance and economy than full-time; user-friendly. Disadvantages: Some systems are slow to engage 4WD and are complex (read: expensive) should it all go wrong."
  18. looks like a r34 photo chop (duh) i actually reckon that would be a sweet design................nissian should just open up the floor to the public to send in designs themselves and for nissian to choose the best one!!
  19. AWD more likely to stick to the road............4 points of traction means more resistance....therefore grip and less power being transferd to more wheels also eases traction problems GTR was designed to win races, it did that to an almost unprecedented ability............. think bathurst.............aussie RWD cars spinning about in the wet while the GTR was lapping them......... i hope that helped......................you better not be one of those 13 yearolds who think GTR's are crap cause they're not 'drift spec'
  20. what shell said......... but i wouldnt play games with this person. if you reckon they're dodgy.........just dont reply etc. what are you going to gain from messing around with them? it could only harm yourself good luck with the sale
  21. there's just too much that the jap import market would offer for the same cash........... amoung the skyline enthusasts, who would definatly make the bulk of the market for the V35, if most of them had the 40-50k kicking about to import, buy one, would take one over an R34 GT-T or a R33 GTR............... i'm sure some would, but the bulk definatly wouldnt.......................
  22. i dont reckon the v35 would take off in aus..................... time will tell
  23. GT is a term reallllllllly thrown about............there are so few cars that would qualify for the job that a Grand Tourer was built for........... A GT is a car designed to travers continents.......namely europe.........with room for 2 + luggage............... i'm not sure if the GT skylines fit that role................... good examples of a GT is the BMW 6 series coupe and Bently GT. can anyone add to that definition? i cant remember where i lernt that.
  24. great spot for it guys!!! all the best, i'd go, but i wont be in the country.
