SKYLINE wannabe at WaterG
The_Paladin replied to Kor'axis's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
could be a 4 door skyline??? how sure are you??? what's the point??? imprezza's arn't too bad anyway......... -
look good on a BMW though.........
-
maybe the RAAF could buy some..........slap some wings on the side of them and use them to replace the F1-11's at 1000kmph they'd do the job! mmmmmmmmm.........might see some turbo ones around. Volvo's are quickly turning into stock sleepers........there is the upper crust family market.
-
"Vauxhall and Holden being the same is like saying Ford and Jag are the same. Owned by the same overall company but separate entities." partially right...............but the only simalarty to Jag and Ford is the owners, the cars have nothing to do with eachotehr....i've never seen a Jag Focus...........but you get both holden and vaxuhall astra's, vectra's, corsa's (identical to barina, just name change) and a lot of other similar ones in the fleet............... holden is vaxuhall in the uk and vice versa i saw Opel when in eastern europe.............same cars again, a few models they dont have in OZ though.........
-
holden and vaxuhall are identical................. the only difference is that the call vaxuhall models in australia holdens because of the herritage and that some cars like the commodore was/is an australian icon that vaxuhall dont badge.............. vaxuhall drivers are wankers too, there's another likeness............. there was a thead i was a part of a week or 2 ago about the monaro comming to the UK, which is confirmed..............
-
just reading an article on Carpoint (msn car page) about a new volvo station wagon.............. i'll cut and paste a bit from the mech part of the write up "The slightly smaller 2.4-litre engine is naturally aspirated and produces 125kW of power and 230Nm of torque. It's capable of accelerating from rest to 1000km/h in 8.2 seconds, and has a claimed fuel consumption of 8.7 litres/100km" 1000km/h!!!! volvo's entered the performance market by the looks of things....
-
even sports cars............................ but motoring doesnt really have the same appeal over here than what it would in Japan..............And cruising involves sitting in a car-park, not doing laps.............
-
Ferris Buhler stuff petrol in the UK cost more........so does parking.......petrol.......public transport is cheaper...... and 2nd hand cars have less k's on them then aussie ones do.........not allways, but generally if you were to look at 100 say. i'd think Japan would have a similar situation...............

Continuing on from stories/rants of Brit stupidity............ Max Power car mag reported that the 350Z was Nissians replacement for the Skyline because they've ended the Skyline legacy and wont be making them anymore..................i guess they dont consider the V35 to be a Skyline! How the hell do these people get jobs are car journalists??? -

Fully Sick Sporty KIA Rio with bonnet scoop!
The_Paladin replied to a topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
i saw something in a car mag here that beats the daewoo a peugot 106 with bodykit, mags, paint, wing, etc.........NO speed enhancing mods, but they still put a racing harness in it infact with all the extra weight. a stock model would run faster........remember this is a 1.6L engine so they didnt really need a racing harness :headbang: oh and this was the feature car for this mag, not a piss take.............. -

5 series coupe??? nah havent seen it............very few 5 and 7 series around. they devalue at a shocking rate compaired to the 3 series. there are a hell of a lot of 3 series coupes around............. yeah probbaly the best GM car.........but GM cars are budget crap............for people who want a cheap car, not a good one. i'll just get a 2nd hand good car with my money.... -

actually.........now that i read that...........i should have allready known it! i was talking to 2 vauxhall emploies and thel guys were asking me about Monaro's (which i dont know much about, other than they are 2 door commodores for people with no kids) and they were saying they were getting them in...........i thought they were taking the piss and having a laugh. looks like they wern't! i cant see it being to popular here.............unless they go for an 'aussie car' angle, i think that marketing technique might work, it would be different.............. hoons wouldnt go for them at least.....they're not hatchbacks. -

The_Paladin replied to Jamezilla's topic in Computer Art
this thread is going to be mad.......................... -
I think the 34 will depreciate a lot less quickly as the others might...........considering it is the last great skyline (for the next decade or so) dont know if that's a factor..........

if your looking at premium stuff...............it dosent seem to be cheaper new, however... 2nd hand cars seem to really depriciate over here. 3 year throway's like the ford KA are popular..................i looked into personal imports because i just had to when i saw the prices in the papers. but it seems the aus government will do everything they can to stop you, and i dont have my p's, so i'd end up getting screwed somehow...... the attitude seems to be that a crap new car is better than a good old one. there is also MOT (ministry of transport) laws that state the car has to be checked out every year in order to stay roadworthy........ 2nd hand Jag's BMW's even Porshe's seem to be a lot cheaper, insurance is high and there dosent seem to be a market..........someone could really clean up being an importer....as there is a lot of jap importers and not many brit ones...... -

i think the insurance over here is justified..........in a way. look at it from a logical perspective...............if the kids think they're part of the fast and furious crew when they're in their 1.1L hatches and Saxo's then what the hell do they think they're going to be when they get their hands on a twin turbo inline 6 or anything of that persuasion..........KEEP THE NEDS OUT THE GOOD CARS..............insurance should be a lot lower for no/low claim 25's etc....... in a way i think the insurance is good cause it keeps the nob jockeys off the road. they're more bold here than in Australia. or i'm just saying this because i saw a honda (might have been integra) wraped around a traffic light at Princes St with a teen driver and passenger....... they were WELL above the speed limit and that is one of the busiest streets in the city for pedestran crossings.......all the more reason to get a camera phone.....
