Slide got it right............. it's what the car was originally sold as new..........

i use to work at a shopping centre for the management and one job i got doing was putting brightly coloured stickers onto windscreens of cars that had parked in the handicapped spots...........something like that would be a laugh get some fluro warning stickers done up with the SAU logo on it and distribute them to the goldie residents of this board...........

I would never use an air freshener because of allergies (eye's water, cant see the road etc) but i reckon there'd be a huge market for smell neutralisers because even when i'm in a position to import a car from japan, one thing that's really putting me off the idea is getting stuck with an interior that smells of smoke, which i cannot stand...........and considering that the Japanese are some of the heaviest smokers in the world, i cant imagine the chances are that slim. there must be a market for a oder killer product in the jap import market..........i'd definatly pay for a top shelf one that did the job if i needed it.

life's never boring with bacon.......

Sorry, didnt know you were from Sydney............or that you were a bit older than the adverage age on SAU taking that into account, the coast isnt that bad a place to be. As it was said earlier, you move there with money, not to make money. i've lived in both sydney (ryde) and the coast, they're very different. it's a good change of pace (why i moved to sydney) it's just a bad place to be when you're young. House prices are going to come down though. they cannot keep climbing, that becomes inflation. they eventually level out and drop in price. lots of people will move to the coast, which will keep them steady, but it's going to run out soon...........they're building em faster than the population is growing. and the population is growing faster than they're building the infrastructer to cope with it.....

Got Rice? - Post the most repulsive cars you've seen
The_Paladin replied to geno8r's topic in General Automotive Discussion
igor, i seem to remember reading that too..........i wonder if it's true or if he's BSing does anyone know how the term 'Rice' (car mods, not the food) came about? -
i'd be cautious of it....................inital sales of houses are good but the occupancy rates are quite low. a developer will advertise how quickly his flats are selling out but he wont point out that the customers are investors and holiday makers and the resale of them is crap. have you thought about the hinterland? bigger properties out there, just a bit out the way but some people dont mind that

i was born and raised on the coast........... What is the popluation like ?? Old , young, medium ? Old and young, not much in between. places like caloundra and budrim are pastures where old people from the cities down south retire. a mate in caloundra lived in between 3 retirement villages (golden beach) How is the economy and industry? Economy is black, lots of cash in hand work which helps drive legit business down. industry is hospitality and tourism. What about Jobs ? what about them? there are none. 2nd worst(?) unemployment in Australia. It's a nice place if you like the dole. Hospitality is good though.......if that's your thing House Prices ?? too dear cause of people from vic buying up Are the people nice ?? people too laid back to care, it's indifference not a genuine nice nature. Transport ? non-existant. that includes sunbus. Shitebus is a better discription. the roads are congested cause everyone has and uses a car. if you dont have a car you're no one important and a write off, hence the crappy transport. Fishing ? great, i'm not into it, but it's definatly there. Girls / Women ? Most of the local women will live at home till about 24-26. my 24 yearold sister says that most of the girls from her grade are on their 2nd/3rd kid. most piss up their part time at Wollies wages at Fridays on the weekend. Coolum is the single mum captial of Australia (statistically) which is evident by the number of 4WD's around the place.........the carpark to a school in the area looks like an offroad meet. Nitelife ? Moolooabah, full of allsorts including a high concentration of VVankers Things to do ? Places to see ? Smoke drugs, surf, collect dole payments, go to fridays, have kids, laps at moolooabah etc yes i'm quite cynical about the place...............unless you're into surfing and hospitality then it's definatly not the place to be when you're young. i got out and have never looked back.........great place to be raised though and to have a holiday break

Got Rice? - Post the most repulsive cars you've seen
The_Paladin replied to geno8r's topic in General Automotive Discussion
This is a great thread! i think the mitsu is fantastic!!! it's taking the piss out of ricers, i'd happly cruise around in it. it's an insult to the korean car krew. as for rice quotes.............the owner of a feature car of one of the mags here said about his pug 106 which had racing harnesses but no performance mods........ "If you've got the style sorted, then why go fast? People wont see you then." that yellow holden has to be a photochop, it wouldnt get over a speed bump -
i'd rather hear about the WRX..........he kept going after he hit the spikes. more interesting story........

i could have phrased that better. you dont have to agree with the laws but you do have to obey them. if everyone drived around with their own set of rules in their head it would be chaos, infact some do and they're the bane on the roads out there. i definatly do agree that cops target certian groups, the first time i got randomly pulled over by a police car, i had been driving for only about 5 hours (as in learning from scratch) and my mum commented that she hasnt been pulled over randomly in decades......

actually there's speculation that the canberra bush fires were started by arsonist or by accident (people throwing cig butts out the window etc) and even so, so many people woudldnt have lost their homes if the correct firebreaks were made and the developers didnt build right up aginst bush land......

it's not BS at all.........just a lot of people would jump to conclusions Road Crash Fatalites means just that.........people who die in crashes. be it driver, passanger, pedestrian. The newspaper was right, there were more under 25 crash fatilites....what's wrong with that?? If it said Driver Fatilites it might be missleading............... there was a good discussion on this topic a while ago in the QLD forum. lots of gov statistics posted.

i was in france 2 days ago........nearly got hit by various cars that were running red lights etc. the roads dont have lane markings (Champs Elyessey round about is a world famous example) the it looked like cutting people off was a right rather than being illegal. i thought australian drivers were much safer when it came to pedestrian treatment..........italy is ment to be worse........but that's the inner city, the highways are ment to be a little different... germany is a little different. firstly, people respect the rules more. 2ndly the youth dont start out in moster V8's or turbo imports, they work their way up. 3rdly they drive to the conditions....i've seen the holdens on the burce highway doing the usual 110kmph + 10kmph + 10% during massive rain and wind with greatly reduced visibility.....it snows in germany, they have this stuff which you dont get in QLD called black ice, they understand if they dont drive to the conditions they'd get killed and like it was said before, they obey the basic road rules!!! if they abolished the autobarns they might put up a fight about it, but they wouldnt blaintly speed in the way aussie drivers would there's no problem with the speed limits here. just a lack of discipline amoung drivers. if you dont agree with the laws then hand back your licence.

report him.........if you're not the first (or last) i'm sure they'd be keeping an eye out for him......

stuff idiots say about skylines
The_Paladin replied to pentae's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
this isnt about skylines but it sticks to the topic..............out at the pub with workmates and the subject moved to cars....... me: if i had a lot of money to waste on cars i'd get an old volvo and turn it into a sleeper. workmate: you'd put a bed in the back of it?? and everyones favourate............. chick: my boyfriend has a really fast car me: what type is it? chick: it's blue -

i cant agree at all with kamikazeR33's post at all............. firstly saying that you've seen 10 times the number of over 30's in accidents could be true but it completely contradicts the results the governments have published and that was discussed earlier. the fact is, is that males under 25 are more likely to crash than any other demograph. this isnt a comment on the indivdual but an entire demograph and has to be taken like that.............. lets see how it looks when the logic some people are displaying here is applied to a different argument, like gun control "LOL, dude ive done 170 on my 1989 holden barina 1L engin" implying that any car can speed................ well, the reason guns are banned is because they kill people, but i could take a chair and hit someone over the back of the head with it and kill them, so why not have chair control laws?? unlike other cars.........sports cars are designed to go fast, barina's are not, they're designed to get you from a-b in girly comfort. sports cars get their optimal performance going speeds that are suited to a track but are illegal on the public roads. car control laws are made for the hoons and applied to all who fall in the demograph they target. these laws and the people who make them arn't saying that you personally cant handle a sports car, but they are saying that there is too many people your age who cant, and to save lives they'll ban them outright or you could put of with getting pulled over by the cops even more than young drivers do now to see if you are allowed to drive the car. either that or make it a hell of a lot harder to get a licence, cause it's way to easy right now (took me 3 weeks learning, first go, no non-criticals and i'm nothing special) there's a lot of flawed logic here but yeah, journalists are arseholes...........they'll move onto 4WD's soon. the reason they would have stopped targeting rotaries is because with the RX8 they'd be pulling over a hell of a lot of businessmen with mid life crisies..... -

what i reckon it all comes down to is that a lot of people who are against grey-imports but dont reckognise the power of HSV-HRT products being dangerous simply believe.............. if it's asian, dont trust it........ -

prehaps a power restriction should be a form of punishment for speeding..........for all age groups........ and if you drive a high-powered car, then tough $hit, you can sell up. that would help people slow down........ -
dont try to bend the Falcon.........that's impossible.......just try to remember the truth... there is no Falcon

.................actually i read further down the report, it breaks up who got killed. drivers, passangers, pedestrians etc.........more passangers than drivers another interesting note is that most of the accidents happened on saturday night, which has the highest rate of fatalties and 6-11pm the time when they occured the most. 2nd was 12-5am............... -

The_Paladin replied to nmcmahon83's topic in General Automotive Discussion
"the fatality rate for 17-20 yearolds was 3 times the fatality rate for the entire population" that was in the Qld report..................MAYBE THAT'S WHY THEY'RE TRYING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT P-PLATERS Revhead had a good comment on how it dosent take driver/passanger deaths into account but i think that just strengthens the argument for restricting the number of passengers in a car on p's...........
