You're right Snowy... they need to get onto it pronto and solidify the regs. Now with both AASA and CAMS, it's increasingly difficult to know which regs we should be building to!

On the fuel sampler fitting, I would strongly recommend fitting one. We ran an Sti in showroom in 2005 and the regs stated that showroom cars didn't require a fitting. Scrutineers begged to differ and I had to show them in the regs exactly where is stated it wasnt required. When we built the blue R34 we made sure we had a sampler fitting (at great expence), and yes, we were fuel tested after a stage and this is when the sampler is required.

It's obviously been deemed a write-off guys, otherwise the thing would have been repaired in Japan..... When you get a chance to take a look how they're built body structure wise, you'll see they'll be far from easy to repair if there's structural damage like this one... check out that C pillar. So, regardless of whether it's only to be rally rego'd, not a good buy in my book.

Hmmm, I don't really understand the point he's trying to make with the exception that yes, there are cheaters, always has been, always will be. His point re the R35 is mute, as far as I'm aware the rules have been modified in the interests of safety and competetion for AASA events at least, to allow a 1" downsize in rim diameter for cars such as the 35, Lambo, Gt2 etc so they can actually procure a genuine R spec tyre. Insinuating that there is a mate's deal with regard to what is allowed to be modified is garbage.... scrutineers are totally independent of the organisers, and as such only scrutinise the rules that the organisers have put into place. Every event I go to, I know there are cars that are "cheaters", but from MY point of view, these people are only cheating themselves. Surely the elation of winning/placing in your class or whatever is soured by knowing you're running an illegal car? I would think so...... I/we have beaten cheaters, and been beaten by cheaters, but you can't spend your time worrying about what others are up to, run your own rally, and what happens, happens. And I didn't see in his spiel anywhere where he had a whinge about all the Evo and STi runners with strokers?

"Your" 98 is shipped in the same unflushed container as kero, diesel, 91 octane etc...... we'd rather not take the risk of a bad batch. I've seen it too many times before. But do tell if there's been a major change in the garunteed quality of the fuel?!?!

I'd probably lean toward Teins... see Fulcrum at Moorooka. Graham Scudamore-Smith is your man there. Tell him I sent and he may even look after you a bit. Yep, look around for some nice light 17's... 33 GTR wheels would be perfect for you. Don't worry about a torque splitter yet, just have the ATTESSA system filter cleaned and flushed if yours is feeling lazy......

I watched you from both the Carrossell and under Dunlop, car was looking very settled and fast lol.... there was some pretty ordinary displays of driving too as usual, I don't know how there isn't more accidents to be honest. Watching for a couple of hours was a real eye opener! How the XT didn't go over I don't know..... she'll be back soon

I missed racing but went out and had a gander in the morning. Good variety of cars, and Steve took my place in his 34 GTR. Hope you enjoyed it mate! Chrisso went a little deep under brakes into the Carossell in the XT GT .... he promises it wasn't because I was standing there watching! At least he managed to turn it sideways for the wall contact rather than going nose in....... a little persuasive hammer work and it was out circulating an hour or so later

Great turbos, had them on my 32 gtr as well. Stock weight with internally standard engine, 11.1 @ 129 mph. Nice responsive turbo excellent for circuit work. Another bump for ya bud.

No sweat mate. QR is a bit "safer" anyway. DBA are far from the best available, but are a reasonable rotor for your car's current level. Don't get cross drilled, just slotted ones. A cheap pad for your car's level is Bendix Ultimate. Some guys hate them, I've had them though and they're fine for what you need. It would be prudent to start looking for some 2nd hand GTR Brembos as a minimum, brakes are something you can't really overdo. Have a good talk to people before spending money on Japanese spec coil overs. The Tein's Fulcrum do are good for a daily driver with some sport use, but Jap spec ones are appalling. Tyres, if you're having a punt, road tyres get chewed fairly quickly, I'd suggest just enjoy your first outing on your roadies, and maybe invest in a second set of wheels/tyres specifically for the track if you really enjoy it. I don't know what a C Drive is..... I'm not that good with computers
