  1. I used a Valvoline LSD oil when i changed mine,i think it was 85/120?? it was a while ago i changed it so couldnt be 100% on the grade..... Would be very interested to see peoples opinions on this because since the change everythings working fine, but a little "clunkyer" when tuning at slow speeds....ie: U turns.... people often say to me 'whats wrong with your diff?", kinda hard to explane that its normal
  2. i think carbon bonnets and gt wings look mad! (obviously, check out my gallery ) as someone else mentioned, not sure about the curves on a 33? would have to see it first. the only unbfortunate thing is the gun metal grey wont highlight the carbon much, but still cool. As far as "practicality" of the bits and pieces....well....who here bought a skyline to be practical? Theres always going to be the "sleeper" style modifiers that bags the "looks" style modifiers, best to have both the "looks" and "power" to back it up , the wallet doesnt always agree though! it's your car, my theory is that if every time you walk back to you car and you think to yourself "yeah i'm still proud to own my car" than who cares what anyone else thinks my 2 cents
  3. try www.customcarbon.com.au for proper wet carbon bonnets, I personally can say there quality is second to none!!(and there in QLD). their bonnets are only 5-6mm thick and are super light, about 20-22kg lighter than standartd gts-t bonnet from memory. Yes a bit dearer, but worth it in my opinion. or www.nismo.com.au for jap style carbon bonnets (fibreglass with top layer of carbon fibre skin).
  4. got my bonnet from customcarbon. has 0% fibreglass, its 2 layers of carbon (wet) with a thin layer of foam between, its vented over turbo & radiator, and weighs between 6-7kg ( I can hold it with 2 fingers). cost me round the $1800 mark. got a quote from just cars.....down the bottom it said "carbon bonnet not covered"
  5. highest power figure Ive made on stock injectors is 248kw on a dyno dynamics dyno at Daltons automotive (not in shoot out mode). couldnt tell you what the cycle is, the microtech i'm running doesnt read in percentages just milliseconds. also running a malpassi adjustable rising rate fuel reg and bigger fuel pump. I know this kind of power isnt safe for stock injectors....cant imagine the spray pattern being very good, which equils damage. Nismo injectors arrived a few days ago, so.....no longer a consideration. I always had the intention that once I achieved beyond 200-210kW i'd replace the stock injectors as after this point there reliabitity is questionable. Just took me about 6 months cauz the damn things are so expensive.
  6. I've always used Castrol 15/40 semi synthetic, no complaints from me ( or the motor ) after 3 years of using it (I change oil + oil filter every 6 months though). Where i get my car dyno'd swears by Penrite HPR 40. Thats what he uses on everything! including his 7sec RX drag car. so many people have so many opinions and preferences. It's really up to yourself and your price range. Generally anything in the lower numbers form 0-15 is fine, and in the higher about 30-40 area, in both semi-synthetic blend and full synthetic oils. my 2 cents Just read the blurb on the back of the container......if it mentions its ok for performance/turbo charged cars....its ok
  7. brand? colours? condition? pic? depending on the above might be happy to take both!
  8. how much are a set of GTR BOV's going for these days? do they bolt straight on? any pics of them installed on a stock manifold/piping RB25? if it's cost effective it sounds like a good option ash. The Greddy type R BOV with stiffer spring i can get for $303.29 from nengun to my door which i think is pretty cheap really, and its not chrome or anodised or some bright colour that draws attention to it....I rather the engine bay to look "reletively" stock. hopefully my injectors arrive before the GOR cruise so i can have it tuned and ready for a.........nice leisurly drive ........... better pay to be a member first though.....
  9. any idea about needing a stiffer spring or not?
  10. Hi everyone, just wanted to see if anyone could shed some light on my "dilema"? A little while ago I completed a power upgrade on my R33, with the high-flow turbo i'm running up to 18psi and now on changing gears I get the "flutter" sound (currently stock BOV). I'm not a big fan of this sound nor do I want an atmo BOV.... will fitting an aftermarket plumback BOV rectify things back to normal (slight "koosh" sound through the POD filter)? also with the Greddy type R BOV's theres an option for a stiffer spring....good idea?? also....with my bigger injectors making the journey on the boat over as we speak, possible could be pushing a bit more boost (maybe 20-21psi?), should i prepare myself for a better head gasket? or cosider a better turbo to get the figures at a lower pressure? not interested in high mounts or external gates. thanks for any input as it will be great to hear different opinions/theorys an help make up my mind about what to do. Berin
