  1. Ye ofcourse, but its not only due to the rods... remember another 2 cyl and another 8 valves help top end breathing and also help in regards to the engine being smoother running than an sr20. But there is alot more aftermarket parts to suit sr20 as it was in production for so much longer! Not that theres a shortage of rb20 parts or anything...
  2. Doubt ull find a roof rack for an r32!! lol Ok theres the obvious... sunroof, digital or analoge climate control, cold air box (in glove box). I know r33s developed many extra features from series 1 to 1.5 to 2 like HICAS etc but not sure and dont think r32s got many of those options as they were developed later (im GUESSING?)
  3. Ye, i think its obvious from examples aswell as just general consent that the sr20 has more torque but wont rev like the rb20. Id say an rb20 into a 180sx would mess up suspension and unless you have adjustable coil overs to counter this its not worth it (unless you only want it for straight line duties..)
  4. Errr i wasnt aware a 2.5l engine wud fit into 2l mounts? Think they need to be modified or use the r33 mounts dude It can be done but an engine swap is never as easy as that! Good to see ur done with the Vk hehe
  5. What exhaust cam gears are recommended? Cant you get intake cam gears aswell or something..? Sounds like good value for money (remembering i have an r32 rb20 not r33)
  6. Heres a comparison i found in a mag. SR20 - Garret GT28 b/b turbo, ARE intercooler/stainless intercooler piping, 3' custom SS exhaust (inc 3' cat), SS Manifold, Standard ECU Result - 208rwkw (280hp) RB20 - HKS GT 25/35 b/b turbo, ARE intercooler/stainless intercooler piping, 3' custom SS exhaust (inc 3' cat), Standard ECU Result - 203rwkw (275hp) Im not sure what model SR20 this is as its got painted rocker covers, id suspect a later model simply because 3/4s of 180s do not have their original engines... but its a comparison! Shows the RB and SR make very similar power as the SR has a manifold and slightly more power. Ive always seen them make very similar power! As i said before if you put an rb25 turbo onto an rb20 then it may compete with the s15 (sr20 using t28) alot better (even though the s15 also got vvt), however Nissan decided due to making the r33 a boat (even more so than the 32 that is..) 500cc and more compression was needed But thats another topic all together! hehe
  7. mmm gotta love BMW. Mind you Supras and rx7s use sequential twin turbo systems... so that bits nothing majorly new!
  8. sr20 does have more torque, ONLY noticeable because its in an s13. Put an rb20det in an s13 and it will SEEM to have more torque over the r32 due to the weight! People forget that... the rb20 can rev alot happier. Compare and s13 (redtop) sr20 to an rb20 and the rb20 will be a better engine producing more power with similar torque levels. Compare an s14 or s15 (blacktop) sr20 with an rb20 and the sr20 takes the cake, newer and further engineered, not to metion the bigger turbo! But this isnt really fair as your compairing a newer engine to an older one, put an rb25 turbo onto the rb20 and it will compete better with an s14 engine... you get the idea! Id say stick with the sr20 as its made for the car, however if you choose an rb20 for whatever reason you'll be happy with the more rpm you can go through freely and you wont loose much driveabiltiy as it is only noticably unhappy at lower rpms as its in a heavier (R32) car than the sr20 (s13)!
  9. Id love to put an rb25 into the 32, as its a good engine in the 33... would be awsome in a lighter more mobile 32!! Good figure aswell, glad your happy with it
  10. Then how come their website says $999 for the coolers + piping??
  11. That price inc piping dude? Thats alot just for a cooler lol
  12. dump + front pipe and make sure the rest of the exhaust flows well.. Then maybe a dual stage boost controller to run 8psi and 12psi? Save some fuel on low boost, abit more power on high boost.. The idea of an rb25 turbo is a good one aswell however, only problem is with a stock cooler you wont be able to boost it up too far and get the full potential out of it. Maybe save for a FMIC + install aswell?
  13. very lovley car... id take the front bar off you if u wanted lol Whered u get it from? PM me if u can dude! BUMP
  14. Hey peeps Looking for a SS 3' mandrel bent front pipe to suit a 3' dump/3' hi flow cat. Anyone got one?? Thanks Jaz
  15. ca18det injectors an upgrade for rb20det?? Other way around i think dude
  16. If u dont have a full exhaust dont do it, if you do and its a standard intercooler ave a look at it n if it looks fine then shud be ok... Will be happier once u get a front mount on it though!
  17. Slightly off-topic but who can install the biki roms in an r32 ecu? I heard lucas/aj from speedworks can do this, can Ken from Hyperdrive do this or not? Looks like thats the option ill be taking in future hints why im interested to know!
  18. thats just the shithouse r33... lol nah i still love em R33 ecu retards the timing at around 12-13psi i believe
  19. the ECU will be remapped afterwards Just wasnt sure if i needed awhole new one!
  20. Thanks peeps The more input the better..
  21. thats what i thought and hoped... clarification from some members wud be appreciated, especially ones who've done it b4!
  22. I know it will physically bolt straight on, even to the current dump pipe but does it need any of these other bits? Seems like if it did might aswell be better off spending abit more on a bigger HKS turbo thats all, and obviously id have to wait a fair bit longer to get a new turbo done if it needed a new ecu etc!!
  23. Hey peeps Seen alot of people post different views on this so i want some confirmation! I bought an rb25 turbo and plan to hi-flow it, can i then put this straight onto the rb20 and it will run ok? Or will i need a new afc, ecu and injectors? The car has 3' exhaust, fmic, fuel pressure regulator (to be put on) and electronic boost controller set to 0.6 bar and 1 bar. What parts will i need to change, what would i need to do to get the car running well with it on? Obviously if i boost past 1 bar ill need new injectors/afm to make higher power im well aware of that! More curious to know if it will run fine on 1 bar with the hi-flowed rb25 turbo... Help would be much appreciated as this is something im looking to do in the future Thanks
  24. If it was original ud be looking, what $4000+ lol Seen the kit its brand spankin new! Will look so hot, crazy price dude!!
  25. i very much agree wit u dude...
