Yeah I know but his setup ain't performing 100% though
Even the full gt3071r result on his car is abit low on power and abit laggy
Which I suspect to be to do with his VCt disabled and cam timing not dialked in correct
-
Rear swaybar how much
-
Well that turbo was not performing as it should As with the cropped version 56.6mm turbine my brothers had in his car made 250rwkw on a non VCt 180sx full boost by 4200rpm 21psi So i would say if you change the inlet cam gear to fix the timing you would have a totally different result as even gtscotts ss1pu is more responsive than your ss1 which is a larger turbo So I would say it's either the cams or cam timing in the gear not set right but the VCt gear should fix this and you should get a better result from the ss1 also those 650cc injectors but your tuner would tell you if there maxxed
-
No it's not a real t3 gt3071r with the full size 60mm turbine wheel will crack 300rwkw on a sr On nissansilvia there's a guy making 347rwkw on a gtx3071r twinscroll on just under 30psi e85 20psi by 3600rpm on VCt sr Another Make and model: s15 sr20det unopened engine in s13 Size of engine: 2.0L Modifications to the car: supporting mods nismo 740's, z32 afm, greddy valve springs, copy sump, jjr exhaust manifold modded to suit 44mm tial, 3 inch exhaust, trust 400x300x100 tube and fin intercooler, 40mm china radiator, trust oil cooler, splitfires, old blitz dsbc, bosch 044 and surge tank, s15 pfc. Type of turbo: 3071 Trim of turbo: 56T 71mm compressor .5ar housing, 84T 60mm GT30 turbine .63 housing Rear Exhaust housing: .63 non gated When does vehicle begin boost: dunno When does vehicle reach full boost and what PSI: 20psi@3600 Does the vehicle have Cams? if so; yep What brand: Unigroup spec camtechs, What lift/duration etc: 255 11.5 in 260 12.0 ex Max power achieve at what boost: 285rwkw@21psi on ultimate

You will just need to replace the intake cam gear with a factory gear with VCt Just make sure it's indeed have a VCt inlet cam it should have a small hole on the end for oil to activate the gear Or just search it's part no stamped on it The wiring and solenoid should be still there and your adaptronic plug in ecu should control it Your injectors will be on its limits now as I know 555cc usually max around 240rwkw so your 660cc will be close at 260rwkw on pump
-
Your ss1 did do alil better than the t2 cropped gt3071r but just 200rpm better spool and 1kw more peak and 5-10kw more midrange Would have a bucket more low and midrange if you went .64 500rpm better spool but hopefully wouldn't hurt peak power too much should try it or I'll try the .64 with my ss1.5 but did well against a larger turbo If you we're to replace it with a std cast iron manifold and replace the intake cam gear to VCt unit that will alone better response by at least 500rpm and already make midrange and low power a lot Better If I was in melb I would have changed them over for free for you to test Also bc s2 cams work with VCt cam gear a lot of people have used them just they wear out and get noisy quicker due to the stiffer valve spring on std you may get 10years but with this you may get 5years or less but still work Only step 3 cams can't use VCt that's why a lot of people use s2 intake and s3 exhaust cams so basically it's performing now like a older non VCt sr20det would
-
Getting the VCt to work and std manifold back on will bring back that 300rpms or more response should be more around 200rwkw at 4000rpmBut remember the sr20 is not like the rb25 with 2 less cylinders
-
That is a awesome power figure and only 18psi boost on 98 should be very safe and easier on the box with the .82 rear How did you find drivability wize going from Unigroup to dvsjez? I'm tuned at Unigroup now If you went with a .63 rear and more boost and e85 would be very different to drive but may be abit harsh on the driveline as the .82 will be slighty laggier
-
Not this wed but the next yeah Where did you get your car tuned man? Turbo setup See what the atr28g2 can do on 25psi
-
lol yeah more that I want to compare mine to this 260kw lag monster. Not that 117mph is crazy or anything haha I want to head out to wsid again to test out my atr28g2 next wed before I take it off for the ss1.5 Hopefully should trap 123mph+ as last Time I only got 2 runs and my cooler hose kept blowing but managed 1 clean run on low boost 20psi but still got a 12.4 @ 120mph Now I got the 20psi actuator and before my twin tip varex had a resonator in the tips which look to neck down to 2inch which I removed and the centre hotdog Should go good hopefully I can get closer to the 11s

If I was in Melbourne I could have helped you out Know sr and s chassis fairly well You will need a bigger walbro pump if you going to run e85 anyway and larger injectors Go walbro e85 pump 460lph rewired and just get those 1200cc side feed injectors you got for the skyline work ok on s14/15 Get rid of that stainless manifold and put the std cast one back on as that will be where 500rpm lag will be and it's normal for the cropped t2 version gt3071r to come on boost at 4-4200rpm depending on boost Get rid of those adjustible cam gears and put VCt gear back on will drive a lot better Will my turbo be finished before the end of the year ? If not I'll just wait till January cause there might be delays in post anyway due to Christmas and new year thanks
-
Semis usually lower power readings But that dynos readings ain't high or happy My brother got his s13 tuned there by toshi made 210rwkw and netted him a 13.0 @111mph at Wsid so it's pretty accurate That is a very good result should take it to the creek and see what time it can run It should be in the 120mph region
-
Yeah just 1psi but it also takes longer to reach if the boost is set higher but at 20psi it still got there at 3500rpm See if Trent can overlay today's results vs std cams and will be a better comparison
-
Just don't look at the boost response look at the power bands Poncams vs std 4000rpm 250kw vs 225kw 5000rpm 350kw vs 300kw Should have got a dyno printout overlaying the old result
-
Also that's what I was after similar power and response to the hks2530 as that was my last turbo setup on my sr20det and I was happy with that it made 250rwkw on 22psi dropping 19psi on eflex full boost by 3400rpm I was happy and wouldn't have changed it but the bearings got noisy in it So would I be better with the .64 or with struggle with 25psi as that's what the 2530 had
-
We will stick to the original plan and I'll be using e85 so high boost 25psi You suggested to try a ss1.5 fnt .86ar due to high boost and s14 comp housing so will be bolt on and go from there 260-270rwkw should be achievable if the turbine is capable of 250rwkw on pump 98 As pump usually caps the boost to 20psi as more than that is pushing it due to pinging and heat but e85 allows me to run 5psi more boost which should net me 25kw we see Thanks
-
Stao is this the same compressor design I'm getting in my ss1.5 but 64mm or that is going to be a older design wheel?
-
I don't know about the 044 but the 040 has no sock at the bottom pickup just mesh and it pretty common if the tank is run low often they pick up a lot of the dirt and crud off the bottom of the tank Once that happens they start to get blocked and noisy Just get a walbro intank 255lph there cheap these days and reliable and quiet due to the new e85 version Only $120
-
Looks like you got the r33 21u highflow performing just as good as a ss1pu 21u highflow makes 242rwkw on 15psi Ss1pu makes 252rwkw on 18psi both tuned by toshi aswell on 98 same dyno
-
Something is restricting it to 200rwkw no matter what boost Exhaust blockage Intake sucking shut VCt stuck Intercooler size and flow ? Either that or check engine condition compression test
-
Sounds good keep us posted with results and post a dyno graph What other mods you got? so we can compare results I'm trying out the ss1.5 soon once stao gets more wheels made up on my sr20 180sx

Car Down On Power Over Entire Rev Range, Causes?
hy_rpm replied to Rolls's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Try the easy and cheap things first Check timing Afm clean ? Had same problem with car at work no power and sluggish was dirty afm Block cat or muffler -
Car Down On Power Over Entire Rev Range, Causes?
hy_rpm replied to Rolls's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'm not sure if the r32 pulley for rb20 is the same as a neo rb25 pulley so the tdc mark on the pulley may not be in the same spot so best to check where true tdc is like mentioned -

Also does it feel very laggy to rev up in neutral ? If your timing belt was 1 tooth out retarded you won't even get enough advance with the cas fully turned
