combi challenge is pretty easy with a little discipline. your major overtaking opportunities are the just before chicago (where the track jinks to the left before entry into chicago) , the entry into hammer head and bacharach ( you can make up alot of room here but bewarned they others go really slow so try to miss them). As long as you dont rear end someone you should be in third by the start of lap two... then just rinse and repeat.

anyone notice that the recommended line is way to conservative?? i follow its recommendation and its silver at best... no chance of gold.... Come in a little hotter, break later or pick a slightly different apex.... GOLD!! i need a wheel tho.... and on that subject... i know what wheel to get... but i dont have room for a big ass nifty cockpit... does anyone have a recommendation for something that will fit in the lounge room and can be stored away easily?

"dimple" Neodymium Magnetic Drain Plug Group Buy #2!
Messiah replied to PM-R33's topic in Group Buys
bugger... think i'll just order my own and be done with it. group buys are great and all but this one is way to quick for me to catch. -
the remaining cars are generally used cars. yes they always change... and yes they will sometimes dissappear too... like a real used car market.

Custom Glass Carbon Fibre R33 Projector Headlights Group Buy!
Messiah replied to PM-R33's topic in Group Buys
how about the same principle as the new audi tail lights and just go around the perimeter of the parker area i tried to ascii it but i cant remember the code for a hard space.... -
ahhh just a mention for other sig owners... apparently the card in the walet contains the code needed to go into the draw to win an Merc SLS I havent checked in mine tho.... can anyone confirm??
-
i got the sig editiion too... didnt notice the card case... where was that. The apex book is pretty cool, probably a little simple for those who are already familiar with the physics of car handling and tuning, but a great primer for those who arent.

Ok played it for a few hours last night so i'm about ready to have an opinion. First of all i was dissapointed to see that i couldnt regroove my tires to better suit the track surface... and not being able to change to actuator arm on the turbo.. i mean WTF!! this game was a huuuggee let down for me... i was hoping for forza in a GT box... fsck that! I was having great fun. Yes it feels like an evolution not a totally whizz bang new game where every thing is brand spankers and i can change the dose pipe on my vl. TBPH who cares if you cant install "specific part x", does it really matter. the good of intake and exhaust, tires suspension etc etc is really the end result we're looking for. I recall nfs shift and it letting me choose which brand of widget i wanted tio put on... and guess what... it added nothing, other than letting me say " i installed an HKS turbo" and my mate asking "does the fact that its hks make a difference" "no..." but the devil is in the details. the cars you come across in the challeges licenses etc etc are all premium models, so you dont really notice the low res. the low res models are all the filler cars, which really is just to fille the niche of wanting to pilot a car we usedto/do own around a track. In general it does look a whole lot better that the other g's... as it should, track surfaces look better.. as does the rest of the scenery. the feel of the cars is a big step up from GT5P aswell. not as doughy and feels more communicative even through a paddle. in 5P i would sometimes just feel like was hovering just above the track with some predefined physics anomaly guiding me around... not so much now. Also little things like the loading meter in the bottom corner of the screen, letting you know how your loading up the corners of the car... when i buggered up in a license it gamer me good feedback on what i was doing wrong. probably less important with a wheel.. but a nice touch none the less. All in all i'm chuffed... it looks feels and plays like a GT game... as it should... i wont miss the options that forza has to offer... i was never really looking for them. But i am enjoying playing a very nicely upgraded, replanned and polished new GT installment.
-
Expecting gt to have a bunch of forzaisms wasn't very realistic. Gt has never been about engine swaps mega tuning . I've always seen gt as best motoring compared to forzas jdm option. Either way, it's a racing game where you have to use the brakes, which is alot better than the nfs series. It's not froze but I don't want it to be, I'd like to play froze for it's perks and gt for it's own.
-
afaik you can mod the brakes, you dont replacde them, but they can be tuned for balance and force. instead of an updated component its a tune option. Thats just from a quick google tho.
-
were people expecting a new totally revolution in racing games? or just the next evolution of GT?? I havent played it yet (its at home calling to me) but i was primarily hoping for some tweaked physics nicer graphics, some newer cars etc etc. I dont care about what vinals i can put on a car, or what colour i can make the wheels etc etc, its a racing game, not barbie dress ups on wheels. I must admit i tihnk the lack of internal view for ALL cars is a bit of a shame... that said i always raced nose cam so i'm not too put out. Now if only they'd make it so you can stall the car if you clutch out with no revs.. then i'd be happy. One thing i will add tho... i'd like to give froza ago just cos it also looks fun... the fact that the g27 doesnt work with the xbox ticks me off tho so i will probably end up skipping it (i'd buy the xbox just for forxa if it was compatible)

got the super mega nifty collectors edition on its way to me in the post as we speak. This better be good.
-
nifteh... my pre-order said it shipped today... w00t... and to chime in... sound does matter... i'm a little miffed with the exhaust noise in gt5 prologue... with any luck its tweaked some in the full version.

As above, forget your power figure and dyno the car to ensure the HEALTH of your engine. Dont just take someones word for it, how much have you spent on your car? are you going to trust a stranger so much that you'll bet the entire value on the integrity of the tune? If you dont do it, your just going to end up looking like someone who cares more about a possible power figure than they do the actual health of their engine. The only reason not to get it dyno'd and the tune checked is if for some reason your horribly afraid that it wont make 190kw. Ignorance is bliss huh?

Nissan 370gt Coupe
Messiah replied to Tommmo's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
you might find one where someones modded the seats, but i wouldnt hold your breath (can you imagine trying to find the colour and specs you like in good condition AND find that with leather seats?) Or you could swap yourself... but you'd pay a bomb to get the seats shipped in. Or you could re-upholster the stockies... but thats not always as nice as the factory finish. When i bought my 350, i had the choice of premium or normal... i'm glad i paid the extra for premium. So save up and just buy an SP. -

What Are The Consquences Of Driving A Turbo Skyline?
Messiah replied to SweetAsBrahh's topic in General Automotive Discussion
This cant be right.... never before have i seen a thread that went "Hey what happens if i.......?" "Dont do it its stoopid" "Ok... i wont thanks" Sweetas, i'm disappointed in you, go look in HERE and learn the proper way to respond to sane recommendations. On a more serious note, if you really did mean "cool i wont drive it then" good on ya... it might suck having it sat there while you wait... but you can spend your time doing it up for when you can drive it. -
I believe the s2 chaser had a slightly nicer interior pattern... less stripey. but yeah... great cars and i was seriously drooling over them for a while. can anyone comment on handling and braking from factory??
-
yeah i understood that, i see a new post for it almost every day. I think the question of "did you have an alarm" is the most frequently asked question of this forum, despite the fact that its never the op of a post who asks it. i was attempting humorous approach to "you can avoid an alarm if your willing to have your care rendered immobile by large immovable objects" but failed. bit about the trees is true tho... i actually have to cut one down to get my car out now... both trees are literally 5cm from the front and rear bumpers of my gtst.
-
i've gone pretty well without an alarm so far... but that said i'm in an interesting position. I parked the car in the garden a few years ago and shortly after planted 2 trees, one in front one behind. Now not even i can get the damn car out. Sorry to hear about your loss mate. Hope it comes good in the end.
