mac book pro.... that will come in at 4kish for a great one with a gnarly screen. One of the better thought out and finished off laptops i've come across. And before you say "but i need windows" you can run windows on it.

My pics that were published. http://www.flickr.com/photos/justplainnift...57624424386679/ You should be able to get full size pics there. although the in motion shot looks nicer in smaller sizes (wasnt 100% steady when it was taken). i had a laugh aswell where the article mentioned that "steady hands are needed to take great shots like these" and we all had our tripods out.

Just an FYI all, apparently the Hot4's article was published this month. I havent seen it yet, tho so cant comment. Good news is this means i can send digital copies of the pics i took to all who want them. I'll sort it out over the weekend.

Fs: 2006 Series 3 350gt Premium Coupe
Messiah replied to Messiah's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Last price drop... $33 firm. -
Hmmm... this could be fun me thinks... dont have to worry about swapping consumption for economy as i prefer it how it is, so it will just be a case of Translation, char sets and date/time. In regards to bricking, is there any recovery process if you screw up a hacked firmware? or is it a case of just dont get it wrong?

Sorry mate, i forgot to come back and look at this thread again. Both cars were dead stock, which i think is the best basis for comparison, as in theory you can get any car to perform in any way with enough money. As for desired result, i had none. Both cars appealed to me in different ways, i thought i'd give them both a spin and see which one i enjoyed most and felt i could get the most enjoyment out of long term (so daily duties and sporadic tracking). Dont care much about times or power, instead it was about enjoyment. As far as the comments i made about modding go. For piston engines i was thinking boost-->headwork-->forgies--> increased disp --> engine swap as a progression for rotaries, i believe the equivalent is boost-->porting-->upgrading seals etc--> adding a rotor (going a 20b). As going beyond say a bridge port really ups the stakes (as usually its accompanied by big turbo's, high boost, increased fuel usage and speeding tickets) I perceive it as "riskier/more costly" but not necessarily in terms of risk of catastrophic mechanical failure, but instead the increased maintenance required. Whilst all engines should be properly maintained. rotories do require that extra bit of tlc

All You P1/p2 Nsw V Drivers
Messiah replied to Yi-Town's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Your safe on this mate, You registration of ownership comes before the reg changes, this can be easily proven. Your insurance is valid as long as you dont drive the car WITHOUT an exemption. Eg it is valid if its nicked from your driveway etc. or if you drive it WITH an exemption. So go apply for your paper work and go back to relaxing -
Falken 452 Or Falken 912?
Messiah replied to lankanrascal1's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
452's arent a soft track day tire, they are Falkens flagship. Then are directional so cant be rotated, so that is a small downside, but other than that they are a great tire in all conditions. -
Ach! 200 from a 350, not easy at all... NA's arent cheap to mod for power, the 190 achieved above is pretty good and unless you've got cash to burn i'd settle for that. After what you've got its going to mean a bit of head work and cams to up air flow and also some ecu work to try and tweak the tune and up the rev limit. After that its a case of hoping the internals will cope with the load, and if you need to sort out internals, then you may aswell up the displacement. After all the above.. you may aswell have just thrown a turbo at it and run low boost and gained better results. The comment made about nos is actually not a bad one. A small shot delivered not too close to the plenum wont stress the engine too much, is cheap and effective. tbh tho, if you want high performance out of an NA on a budget, you bought the wrong car.

I'll have to see if i have the nike... (i deleted my save and started all over for S's and G's) but if i do ok... For those that dont have it, how about the rx7 its easy to get and nice to drive.

yeah ok i'm happy to compromise and not to the ring, a shorter track will make life easier and the times tighter (hence more exciting) too. I'm trying to find a map of all the gt4 tracks because i cant recall the layouts and names off the top of my head. how about Fuji 05 GT As for cars... ok... one request... whatever car we use must have nothing in common with a 1040's wily jeep so no yank tanks.

Ok i pulled this out again the other day to play with (god i'd missed it) so i'm up for the a challenge. Lets set some rules tho, i see alot of times for alot of cars with alot of different mods. Lets pick and agree on a stock/AM car, leave it unmodified (tuning allowed) set tires, track and driving mode (arcade time trial or turismo practise) and crack on. ATM i dont know what car track or time i'm trying to beat. Being SAU, i'd say GTR, any factory model or the mines on the ring.

Drop Down Banner Ads
Messiah replied to Messiah's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
As i mentioned above, i dont think anyone who's accessing the site for free should be complaining about the cost to them, if you pay a membership fee then you might have a place to start, but still not solid ground). As to the rest, yeah they suck, and yeah the ad vendor blows, but you cant just turn them off or boycott them, business doesnt work like that. Instead a more mutually agreeable one needs to be implemented, swapping the banner ads with the sau logo is one suggestion, but there might be others. Feel free to voice your annoyance, but try and make useful suggestions to fixes as well, not just whine and rage. -
Great day all, I didnt get chance to come up to the hill for a meet and greet but from my point of view it looked like you all had a great view point. Next year can we set up a zip line from the hill to turn 2 so you can all share the love... and booze. does anyone know where i can find the list of lap times from the day?? i forgot to look them up when i got back in to the pit area.

ok... first of all dont worry about making your engine pop, if you manage to do that your doing it wrong. Your plan is simple, get an turbo big enough that it can flow enough air to make the power you want without being so big that its laggy. to pad this out, a smaller turbo might need to run more boost to make the power you want.... a big turbo not so much boost as it flows more already, but it will suffer from more lag than a small one. but this is where my help runs out, i'm not expert at turbo matching. there is a thread dedicated to it tho. My only advice is, go small enough that you avoid lag, but large enough to give you the power you want plus maybe a little head room for more.

think of it this way, blow air down a pipe at a rate of 1ltr per minute, or you can blow air pressurised to 19psi down a pipe at 1 ltr per minute, or.. you could blow air at 19psi down a pipe at 2ltrs per minute. make sense now.

So Chris, to be really tricky, have you managed to fit the internals of an auto watch alarm fob inside a 350's key?
