  1. Used 452's on both the 33gtst and the 350, cant recommend them enough. Great tire for their price.
  2. Duncan... Scotty missed it... i think your going to have to start using your sarcasm sign again.
  3. yeah found thins.... http://g35driver.com/forums/lighting/31234...-cluster-2.html looks like work for an electronics surgeon... not for the faint hearted. Guess i'll think about this if i dont sell the 350... which at this rate seems likely.
  4. thats not too bad... would be even better if you could close off the gap between the end of the strut and the end of the partition.
  5. Lo all Does anyone know what dictates the colour of the dash lighting in a v35. I think orange looks pants... red would be far nicer.

your a bastard and we all hate you. now that i've sorted out your request, welcome to sau. Hope you have fun. As i said to someone else recently, dont take anythin here personally and dont be afraid to ask dumb questions, just make sure you let people know what research you've done first.
  7. welcome to sau, get stuck in and have fun. Only advice i have is dont take anything anyone says personally and in your questions show your prior research and train of thought. With that you should have a fun time.
  8. i read an article some time ago that stated that injectors where the biggest hold up, however some mob claimed to have fixed this problem. I think its an issue of fuel density and injector speed... but it was a looonnnggg time ago.
  9. Sorry kristian, i didnt mean to infer that you did crunch a workshop on price. Instead i was suggesting negociating with a shop on an agreed standard price on a given vehicle assuming an acceptable car quality, with the aim of removing choice of raws from the customer whilst maintaining some for of self regulation on price.
  10. Its the above that makes me think that bundling the complience and broker fees together is a good idea, well maybe not good... but better. Remember theres a difference between an enthusiast and yr average young'n who wants an import. the former will budget for and pay the cost of quality complience, to a point. the average mug however wont and will instead go to the raws that is looking to gain market share at all costs. End result is, corners cut and quality raws start thinking about leaving. Education is only useful for those that care to start with. I dont think my suggestion is that bad, and it wont lead to run away costs. Brokers will have their costs advertised for their vehicles, and the buyer can shop between brokers. fixing the price to 3200 per vehicle smells of price fixing, however justified it may be. but brokers partnering up with preferred raws and offering packaged broker+complience fees could help cut down on the low balling as the respected brokers would always use their respected raws, and anyone with stupidly low package prices will suffer from both low margins and bad reputations, and they shouldnt last too long. thats said. i always did suck and business studies
  11. ok to go back to the start... in theory disconnecitn the exhaust at the cat shouldnt send you backwards as all your doing is removing a restriction. When it does come to ecu's tho, keep in mind that with a good ecu you can continue to adjust its tune with each and every change you do. so it might be worth doing the ecu first, so you can accommodate any and every mod you do as you do it. This means that you could potentially avoid having to stump up for injectors afm etc etc all at once. and maybe even get a better more aggressive tune thats suited to your current hardware.
  12. i think maybe itemising could be the problem. eg take a look at j-spec (to clarify i have no gripe i'm using them as they offer great depth of info on each car) the give a total break down on costs. eg.... 450,000 JPY FOB @ 81.64 yen bank rate = AUD $5,512 FOB AUD $1,656 shipping ~ 10x USD$75/m3 freight ~ $800 customs costs AUD $276 import duty $5,512 x 5% duty AUD $678 GST $5,512 + $1,270 x 10% AUD $2,400 compliance AUD $1,100 J-Spec fee So we know that all but compliance and broker fee are static, they are set by business who dont care to haggle. We deal with the brokers and ask them to find us good cars. so we tend to look after them and dont haggle there. That leaves compliance.. the poor faceless man in the middle. Buys will do whatever they can to make a saving and they'll shop around here. Maybe all brokers should agree to mask the aus side fees as a single Aus service fee. They can negociate an good price with their preferred workshop and factor it into their own bill. It does require more trust form the buyer, but it should stop destructive bargain hunting. and should hopoefully allow the brokers and the raws shops to come to a mutually beneficial arrangement.
  13. heh if only there was money to be made in creating evidence packages. would be an entertaining business.
  14. I think it all comes down to a matter of profit. The developer wants to be paid for his work, so Andy has paid him (assuming past tense here). Now i assume Andy wants to recoup his expenses so he's charging per conversion. Now heres the catch i guess, if Andy is making a profit on top of his expenses in an ongoing manner (so not a limited time like a group buy) theni guess logically he could be deemed a trader. If he offered say... X conversion for $y each where X times Y equals out of pocket expenses, and called it a day... or released the rest free of charge on donation based, then i guess it could be deemed non-trader. but if the Russian is charging per conversion and andy is passing the trade on, then he's and agent of a trader and therefore a trader by proxy i'd think. That said, if russian is on the cusp of returning to communism, then all income from this conversion belongs to the state and andy must now hand over his stag to all the other peasants waiting in the queue.
  15. So what money can we expect to part with once they coming over? same as the aristo?
  16. Thanks for the clarification. I was thinking 2jgte wagon??? could it be??? alas no... but a ij wagons pretty good too.
  17. Sorry mate, got confused about which comes with which engine... one more time for the dummies??
  18. w00t... 06 and safe
  19. I'd have thought the biggest restriction here is the compliance cat. The factory exhaust isnt aweful and whilst it wont flow aswell as a 3inch turbo back, if he's looking to do a few tweaks on the cheap i'd have thought the cat will suffice. That said, i wouldnt be looking to up thew boost this time around, i'd leave that for later when the budgets a bit bigger. (that way he can do the EBC, exhaust and Cat all in one go... plus get it all tuned) As for making power, leaning out isnt the best way to make power. Its not about same air less fuel, its about more fuel and more air. frequently you wont see a big power difference moving from 13 to 12 afr with no other adjustments. Better option is to go the ecu route, that way you can not only adjust the fueling but also the timing, and this will lay the ground work for then winding up the boost.
  20. this still the beginners class or is this the follow up class we've been begging for??
  21. Good move on the slowly slowly approach. I think its far better to have a really tidy stockish 33 instead of a absolutely machine with scratched panels and dodgy rims.
  22. 200 seriously dude i've said it before STFU!! if you dont have anything constructive to say, and by that i dont mean criticising others, then just STFU. Now on topic, i'm tossing up between a 34gtr and s8 bathurst R rx7 for my next set of wheels. Took the rx7 for a spin the other week. I can see the appeal. The car itself its tiny and light weight, and tbh you can feel why, if the car was the weight of a 34 it wouldnt move nearly as quick. but as it is, its small, light, and nimble. if your used to piston engines then you find that you change gear as normal and are left wondering what all the fuss is about, then you realise you shifted about 6k rpm too early. so you do it again but this time shift closer to redline. you end up with a long linear progressive pull that just keeps going. you feel each and every bump and crack in the road, but it handles like a dream. your sat almost on the floor and it seems like the headlights pop up above your head level. and the cockpit has a really nice cosy aircraft feel to it. its impractical, but you'd happily adjust to it if you chose to buy it. But the car does get skittish on occasion and milking power out of them does have some risks and costs associated with it, a little bit beyond the cost of a piston engined car. i'd say they're a perfect car if you'd like to track them without the need to be super competitive, like the mx5. yes you can make both of these cars monsters on the track, but the price tag associated with it might well spoil the appeal it had in the first place. As for the GTR, as both cars were unmodded it had the same pulling power, even if it didnt have the same rev limit. it was easier to get into and out of, but wasnt as fun to interact with when not moving. but when moving, despite being heavier the steering felt agile and tight, and you can feel that it will take very little work to get a noticable increase in power out. that said i'm not sure i'd want to track it every chance i got. maybe once every now and then. but as a daily i think it could do a really nice job. So to answer the question. Rotaries dont suck, they have an appeal all of their own that a piston engine cant emulate. they perfectly complement a light well handling body to make a great weekend track car.
  23. Stimps, the bandwidth from an ad is bugger all., and as mentioned advertising is needed to help run this site that you use free of charge. Keep that in mind when you complain, its one thing if you say "its funcitonality is annoying, how can we change it for the better" its another if you say "your banner ad is costing me bandwidth that i pay for when i visit your site and use its features free of charge". Perhaps if there was some waiver for paying members its one thing, but beggars cant be choosers. and tbh, i prefer leaving the ads on so that maybe, one day, the cheap viagra ad i've been waiting for might pop up and both myself and prank can benefit from my clicking
  24. marlin.. you missed a perfectly good chance to tell Rowan that you only sold it last week and watch him go berko.
