  1. I cant remember where I read it. It might have been in STATUS's link. It seems that if oil is getting in the cylinder it lowers the octane rating of the mix and causes knock. If its running very hot then it will knock easier. Mine has 10 to 15 knock on wot usually. After I gave it a hiding through 4 gears it went up to 35. And yeah if there is excess carbon it will glow and cause preignition.
  2. Check out #743 in the rb25 dyno thread. Floor and downfall???
  3. Guys, seriously, it's a daily driver. I'm not 20 and stupid like 20-something year olds are. She'll be right. If it does blow up then I'll just stroke it earlier than I planned.
  4. It will hammer mate. You and I both know it. I'll make another clip after its on the car. And yep I'm doing up my car. A bit at a time. More parts will come later. Its not a track car so it wont break (fingers crossed). Nothing wrong with that aye Have a sus of this clip. It is 430 rwhp at 18 psi...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTsYbu66NUk&feature=related...
  5. What really grinds my gears today is wankers posting crap on a thread that has nothing to do with the original question and talking a whole bunch of shit about whatever setup you are working on. Fckrs your mother needs a slap for not raising you right. Also what grinds my gears is people on motorbikes riding down the middle lane to stop in front of my skyline then take off slowly ruining my drag launch practice. +1 Dale too. Grrrrr
  6. Random knocks could be oil burning under load.
  7. Whatever makes you happy then aye Just out of interest did either of you blokes have something positive to add or did you just feel like having a go?
  8. If you want killer response then you need displacement and more cylinders and keep it na so you have the legs. If you think a forged 34 wont make a difference (wouldnt have said it to you but you said it first) then you need to read up a bit more. If we were racing then I'd use antilag or I'd have an auto and hold it on the transbrake. But were not. I agree somewhat with the 190rwkw statement. That would mean buying an extra turbo cos the stock one's die quickly. I dont want to spend 1500 on a turbo now and then do it again in 12 months. It is my daily driver. It gets cruised on the weekend and also gets a hiding from time to time (half the time )
  9. If you didn't read from the start then you should. If you did then I'll clarify a few key points. In order, I'm running low boost (18 psi or so) because it is going on a 170xxx k rb25det engine. I would have got a smaller turbo but then I would just have to buy a bigger one soon so I got the one I want. On the subject of temporary, I have an rb30 in the shed almost ready to put in. Thats like the 50th time I've said that lol. I'm stroking it in less than a year. Its getting put in my car...with the gt3582r on it. I want a bigger turbo now as 190 rwkw is nowhere near enough for me. I like tuning. I almost love it. I adjust for fun. I am doing it once just not overnight cos I haven't won the lotto yet. Try putting your smaller turbo on a rb2530 and see how well it goes or better yet put it on a forged rb34. As far as lag goes its not a concern for me. I'm used to old school 2 stroke motorbikes. Try them out for lag. I know my car is fast so I don't have to race between lights to prove it. Its a manual so lag is only a gearchange from disappearing. In your honest opinion who's car will be quicker down the quarter only comparing turbo's? And back to the start again, it will be running in its best efficiency zone. Just not yet.
  10. A mate has a couple of high flow cats that he aint using. They just need to be welded onto the flanges. But its tempting, a decat pipe.
  11. Mate if you cant give a straight answer then what does that say?
  12. Cos r33's come with huge ass front mounts and 900cc injectors and 3 inch turbo back exhausts
  13. Its a 400 to 600 hp turbo
  14. Lol mate you have to do better than that. Did you see the little youtube clip I put up? And like Soturi says its only getting about 18psi anyway. Your initial post is right. However I think you failed to read everything I have written so far . So...Why wouldn't you put a z32 in front of a gt3582r?
  15. Why not?
  16. It will stay a standard 25 for now. I have a 30 in the shed that is almost ready to swap in with the 25 head, so I might get motivated and put it in. Either way (25 or 30) it will be a stock bottom end until next year. The missus reckons I can get a spool 3.4 stroker kit (for the 30 obviously) next year for my birthday. Only 11 months and 2 weeks to go... http://www.spoolimports.com/spool-stroker-kits/spool-nissan-rb30-stroker-crank-kit
  17. Anyone got a 6boost manifold and wastegate they wanna lend me till mine arrives in 3 and a half weeks? That way I can get my dump sorted and the intake etc.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVg1AuZGFKw Hahaha how good is the accent
  19. Excuses, on 18 August 2011 - 12:33 PM, said: retarded replies goes in the retarded section, if we have one, thanks lachlan. Read the original post people
  20. Agreed
  21. Not everything. The injectors flow 910 cc at stock pressure and 990cc at 4 bar. The afm is good for 360 kw or so. The intercooler is well big enough. I thinking about the future. I have an rb30 in the shed that I have almost ready to put with the 25 head and the missus and I have decided to get the spool 3.4 stroker kit next year. I have all the necessary bits on the car to make a stack more power except the turbo. Its better that I run this turbo near the low end of the efficiency range for now than flog the crap out of a smaller turbo that will get replaced in 12 months. Hey, I can afford to do up the car but I dont own a bank
  22. Remember that the engine is going to be internally stock for the next 12 months unless it blows up before then.
  23. The actual hole in the intake of the turbo is only around 2.5 inches. Its just the outside fitting that is 4 inches. Also you say cat and catback need replacing. Yes the cat will be too small. However it is more important to have a larger section of pipe at the start of the exhaust rather than at the back. If I were to replace the exhaust in sections I would start from the front and work back. Eg: Disregarding the cat (cos its getting replaced), I'd replace my 3 inch front pipe first.
  24. I'll have a sus of the line kits today. I'm getting a turbosmart 50mm gate, its coming with the manifold from Kyle. Lol the cat will get replaced. I have a 600X300X100 front mount. Sometimes I forget the some of the stuff I have put on the car
