  1. Keep the commodore to drive the family and use the skyline for....
  2. air flow is air flow.
  3. Skyline = 6 cyl. Ecu = 4 drivers...
  4. Well I cut the spring I had in half and chucked it back on. The car was on 14 psi before and it went up to 18 psi. I adjusted the bleed valve and got it back down to 14 psi again. As to be expected the turbo spools up quicker which is nice for response. I'll chuck the other half on today and see if I can get it to hold 14 psi without the bleed valve. I think it was holding about 9 or 10 psi last time with no bleed valve.
  5. I put them in and the car goes like normal. No extra knock so I guess its all good. I haven't driven it much since so I'll go for a good strap this weekend and see how it goes.
  6. I bought a set of 950 cc JECS injectors for about $500 from ebay. Put them in, set up the power fc and the car idles fine and runs better.
  7. Well it was a busy day so all I did was get a spring and put it on a heatshield bolt hole to the wastegate arm. With no boost control its at 8 psi. Thats a whopping 2 psi above stock. Needless to say I wound the bleed valve out a bit to make it more fun. On that subject my bleed valve has started sucking in air a few weeks ago. I'm sure it wasn't before, must be stuffed aye? I've got it t'd into the carbon canister. Any other suggestions/ideas?
  8. Well that all seems good then. I reckon I'll try the outside spring idea first and see how that goes. I bought a Profec A a little while back but it was a bit rooted so the guy refunded me. The button on the front wouldn't pop back in and sometimes it held boost and sometimes it didn't. I might just get a decent boost controller shortly depending on how the actuator modification goes. Thanks for the comments and the pic guys
  9. Although I know the answer more or less, I had a quick look on the site and couldn't find what I was looking for so the query goes thus... Can ya/Who has open/ed your/their stock wastegate actuator, shim/swap the spring and make it work. Cos I'm going to no matter what (almost) anyone says, I'll post results on Saturday afternoon. Ooorah for the forward slash Edit: I should have called it wastegate acutator modification....oh well
  10. I'll chuck em in before the weekend and try them out. They'll last a long time because of the materials used. Only thing I'm concerned about is that they'll be too hot. The number on them is HGR8DQ1.
  11. Anyone used these? http://www.bosch.com.au/content/language1/html/5684.htm I have 8 of them and I'm due for some plugs. Dont tell me about the cheapies, I already know
  12. I had contemplated moving to VIC. Now I wont.
  13. you mean r34 turbo right? There is no engine called an RB34. The closest thing to an rb34 is a 3.4 litre stroker kit for the rb30. Yup as stated already you will need to wind the boost down till it runs properly. Or get a power fc or the like.
  14. Haha probably aye. Actually now that I think about it, it was the wrong wire. Dur... I remember that I unplugged the wrong wire and it didn't run and then realized and got the right wire (the clear one). My bad
  15. Hmm never heard of an engine sucking in air through the turbo and blowing it out the exhaust before. I know how to fix the problem tho, you need to put your started motor in backwards so the motor will suck through the exhaust and blow through the turbo
  16. Just rewire it mate. Easy as. P.s I disconnected the O2 wire from my stock computer and my pfc and the car stalled both times. What does that tell you?
  17. Well mate that's great news. Tell ya bro its stuffed and he has to replace it just to mess with him.
  18. Spewing you let your brother in law have a crack hey?! Get it in the rail and try it man. It might work??? I don't know if it will or not. At the end of the day its not a lot of money to get a new one and if you have to wait a week to get it well that wont kill you. Waiting for car parts makes it all the more worth it when they arrive I reckon. Let us know how you go with whatever you try.
  19. First look at coolant level in radiator and in the coolant recovery bottle. Get a new cap with the correct pressure cos they are cheap and are an integral part of the cooling system. Then chuck a new thermostat in it. A thermostat is only $12 trade or about $16 to $20 retail. New coolant wouldn't go astray either seeing as it's likely very old and you'll lose a bit when you swap the thermostat. Also as you'll have the cooling system somewhat apart, you should flush out your radiator and block. While you're under the bonnet just check all your cooling system hoses for cracks/leaks etc. You're going to sell it so don't go overboard replacing stuff but if any hoses are incredibly squishy/soft or hard and cracking its better to sort them out now rather than have them break while you or the new owner are driving. Heater cores can leak as well but try all the other stuff first and let us know how you go. Good luck mate
  20. Don't stress. I reckon it could be alright. Like Tazzy said get it tested. Put it in ya car and see if it works. If its broken get him to buy you a new one. Rule number one with assembly: If it wont go then check it, everything has its correct way of going together. There is a thread on injector installation on this site somewhere. All my injectors couldn't be pushed in by hand. Sargerx8 ya wrong mate it don't have no fuel up the top there, hence the term "side feed injector". And that bit aint a pintle fella's. Sounds like some blokes need to read up on how injectors are made and work
  21. I bought some refurbished 900cc jecs injectors for about $450 from ebay. Fit straight in. Cars runs better and idles fine.
  22. Mate I don't know the exact answer you want however I can answer the " If so how" part of your question. You can get leads that have a different clip on each end. Look into it more
  23. So we all look on ebay for car stuff right? Check this out... http://www.ebay.com....=item43a7d37253 I found all of the parts separately and it cost less than a grand. Not that one would necessarily want to buy cheap crap for their car but I guess some would. People trying to sell stuff like this need a
  24. $1.47 today for 98. I'll head up your way and try out the BP fuel tomorrow afternoon.
