I have an auto GTS-4 (vitually standard with a few minor mods) and when I drive at around 55-60kph then I floor the accelerator and drop the auto into 1st you get to see the tacho needle go way past the 9000rpm so I checked the Avc-r and Rsm to check the actual peak figures and both display figures around the 11500rpm (wasn't that high to start with was 10500 first and now it say's 11500 so I broke my old record by 1000 rpm) and there was no engine damage at all!!(dam no matter how hard I try I still can't break the RB20) I nearly couldn't believe it the first time I saw it!,I was showing a friend the functions of the Avc-r! You can imagine the look on his face too!! MEGA P.s might post pic of screen with the 11500 on it if you wan't!

That ad should say KPGC10 for a real GTR the standard 2 door GT skyline is KGC10 and also the KPGC10 GTR was fitted with the 1998cc 160hp double over head cam 6cyl S20 engine! Not the L28!(280Z) and the KGC10 was Powered by the 1988cc 106hp OHC 6cyl. G7 series engine and later the 1973cc 109hp OHC 6cyl. L20 engine! Still it is one nice car!! Don't think I would pay that price though! MEGA

This is what an o-ringed head looks like. Sorry I couldn't find a o-ringed block picture!(EJ25 subaru) Not much here, except for the two thin rings added to the head surface. You should be able to find a highly skilled machinist to do a similar job. You need to o-ring a block if you want to run high boost levels!
-
Here is a quick diagram of what o-ringing is all about. The idea is mainly to provide a much higher clamping force on the head gaskets using a small metal ring.

I love R32's!!! R33 just happened to come out at the time they gave cars severely rounded shapes which gave them a strange look on some viewing angles(GTR still looks good though), but they got it right in the R34 when they styled it off the R32 style. R32 GTR/GTS-4's are also easier to switch between 4wd to Rwd than R33 and R34!! MEGA

They towed it backwards you can see it in the pics! strange... the GTR in the ditch covered in dust and it still looks beautiful!!! and did you see the 300ZX thats just covered in dust inside and out!, whats the story there?

Tail Gating... Have you done it?
MegaGTS4 replied to Pva_Glue's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I knew this one guy that had set up one of those window jets that you have on the bonnet to clean the windscreen on the back bumper of his car and he filled it with brake fluid and when anyone got to close he would let them have it!(must be fitted to older style car because some fluid may end up on your car (goodbye paint) but he had a old car so he didn't care. -
coco69, Screw extractors only work when the screw/bolt/stud head is broken off they weren't designed for what you wan't to do! as they are only a means to grip and turn the screw/bolt/stud anti clockwise which you don't seam to have any problem doing by the sounds of it! But you still might have to drill the old screw out and then tap a new thread! MEGA

Tail Gating... Have you done it?
MegaGTS4 replied to Pva_Glue's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Most people don't know what the proper following distance is or just simply don't care! 2-3 seconds (dosn't sound like much but it saves accidents from happening) Dam tail gaters!! (need those device things that James Bond uses!! That would get rid of them) I have a colour camera ( a digital rear view mirror) that I can record from and it points backwards( handy because the closer they get the clearer the number plate picture) so the next person that gets too close I might just show the footage to the police. Anyone's Line ever been smoked at the lights?
MegaGTS4 replied to GT-Rmgedon's topic in General Automotive Discussion
NIZ30(R32 Skyline) has smoked me when he lived in my town( Dam trust turbos) can't wiat to return the favour! RB26DETT power now!! MEGA P.s I just let most of them go too!(couldn't be bothered most the time) -
coco69, Sounds like the thread has stripped, have you tried using a flat blade screwdriver under the head (or the intake pipe) and twist to produce a upward pressure on the head (if you can get it under the head) at the same time as you try to undo it? might work! MEGA

Good idea safety first!(better to be sure than bodgy) MEGA

which would you rather have?
MegaGTS4 replied to StraightSix's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Both cars have the goods but I would buy the GTR ( and mod it latter when you can afford it )because I like traction! (lots of power is not much good if you can't put it to the road when you want to) But thats just my opinion. MEGA -

to my knowledge: Dampers/shocks/struts all do one thing to control the spring, the spring has a few characteristics which influence the sping rate. E.g Wire Diameter, Spring OD, Number of Active Coils = Coil Spring Rate. The spring rate is essentially what holds the vehicle up (and gives the suspension some travel) and also affects body roll!(the higher the spring rate the less body roll but unfortunatly the rougher the ride) A thicker Stabiliser/swaybar will also reduce body roll, this may also affect understeer or oversteer. Man I could type for hours trying to explain this so I found this link instead http://www.wtrscca.org/tech.htm they explain in more detail what I was trying to explain to you. MEGA

Yep best thing to do if you like the carbon look is to give the bonnet a light rub down and apply some 2 pac clear over the upper side otherwise you could paint it the same colour as your car! ( have read some where that they don't like the sun too much because the shiny side is just a thin layer of gel coat (polished) so best to protect the bonnet before fitting) MEGA p.s R32 bonnets need a GTR bonnet catch to fit GTS-t,GTS-4,GTS!

Overdrive is like an extra gear for the auto that was designed this way to reduce fuel consumption on the highway the main reason that people leave it turned off in town is because you need to get to between 80 or 90 kph before overdrive kicks in! And if you cruise at around 80 - 90k's (mine changes as low as 70kph sometimes) the overdrive can change in and out of gear (rather unecessary at this speed) and this constant changing between 3rd gear and overdrive severly wears out the overdrive! MEGA P.s PVA-glue towing a trailer or having two chicks in the car is not a good reason to use the overdrive! (and you wouldn't benifit nothing from it unless you were doing more than 80 - 90 k's) maybe your thinking of the power button (this changes the rev range at which the auto changes gear (redline gear changes if under heavy acceleration) and also early drop-down which can be quite fun! The hold button just makes it so that under hard acceleration the auto won't drop-down a gear!

Standard R32 M-spec front bar with plastic removed the mesh is probably there because there is no fmic? Nobody would put that fine a mesh in front of a cooler. But still looks tough! only because its a skyline!
