  1. Aparently the trick is to remove the turbo's outlet hose and undo the four clips and you should be able to lift the top of the air box enough to remove the element without disconecting the lower AFM, though I have found that removing the hose attached to the top AFM only helps because after time the hose becomes stiff and non-compliant. Hope this helps! MEGA
  2. I have a GTS4 and a complete GTR (minor front damage)for parts and if all goes well in the next few weeks I will transplant every thing that I can from the GTR to the GTS4 as I feel that the drivetrain might not be the same. Though it has already been done before.. Have you seen "High octane 3" Ketzal has a GTS4 with a RB26 in it though you don't get to see it run as it had gearbox trouble! But any move from Subaru to Nissan is a move in the right direction, so keep up the good work! MEGA
  3. Grant, The RB20DET was not a factory option in the R33, the R33 coupe weighs 1360kg, this is no doubt one reason why the R32's RB20DET engine was superseded by the half-a-litre-bigger RB25DET. The extra capacity squeezed out of the same RB block involved increasing bore and stroke to 86.0 x 71.7mm (up from 78.0 x 69.7mm respectively). However, the RB25 also features much larger inlet runners than the RB20, a vastly improved cylinder head, a larger (ceramic turbine) turbocharger and a marginally larger air-to-air intercooler. A relatively high 9.0:1 compression ratio!! Skyline model - Engine codes R30 - FJ20E,FJ20ET,CA18E,L20E,L20ET,LD28,LD20 R31 - RB20E,RB20ET,RB20DE,RB20DET R32 - RB20DE,RB20E,RB20DET,RB25DE,RB26DETT R33 - RB20E,RB25DE,RB25DET,RB26DETT R34 - RB20E,RB25DE,RB25DET,RB26DETT V35 - VQ25DD,VQ30DD,VQ35DE http://www.meggala.com/r33main1.html Meggala's site has allways got interesting info! Also the easy way to tell what model you bought is by the Vin number on the compliance plate ie: HR33 - RB20E - GTS ,GTS-S ER33 - RB25DE - GTS25 ,GTS25-TypeS ENR33 - RB25DE - GTS-4 ECR33 - RB25DET - GTS25t TypeM BNR33 - RB26DETT - GT-R ,GT-R V Spec ,GT-R V Spec N1 MEGA
  4. You might find that the switch is the faulty part! (happens alot on R32 model) Dirty contacts in the switch! I have read about it even in the sevice manual for the GTR It can be cleaned though! MEGA
  5. Cause I accidentally posted it for Hicas! But I stand corrected by Blind_elk!
  6. Firstly,Sorry the reservoir in the boot it is for attessa. (my bad ) Secondly deorbit, also check the connections on the battery. MEGA
  7. I have seen it too.. Is your car the white one with the carbon fibre bonnet, areo mirrors and white wheels. Sweet car!
  8. "Group A or N1 Type 320 hp Garrett Roller bearing Turbos drop straight in for GTR. Drop in replacement. Specs: Turbine Hosuing = 0.64a/r Ratio,Turbine Wheel = 76 Trim, 1.85'/2.12', Centre Housing = Watercooler, Dual Ball Bearing, Compressor Housing = 0.60a/r Ratio, Compressor Wheel = 35lbs/min , 1.86'/2.37', Wastegate = Integral" from http://www.uniqueautosports.com/pricelists...0list%20GTR.htm Uniqueautosports where they sell these! They are rated about the same as a pair of HKS GT2510 which are rated at 300ps each! MEGA
  9. Have you checked the level of the power steering pump? (and the one in the boot for hicas EDIT: sorry ATTESSA ) Also have you run diagnostics? http://www.powerlink.co.nz/~graeme/faq/tree.html That can be found at the above link! Strange how the steering wheel moves by it self? You might need the doctor to do an exorcism! :bahaha: MEGA
  10. He can even get different grilles! Brings a whole new meaning to a fake GTR!
  11. From side on! Even the rear spoiler looks suspect!
  12. Well... Check out this nissan Primera! The Japanese have done it all! R32 owners are going to spew! :spew:
  13. Here's a pic of the Do-luck T2 kit: Which I love, and it looks even better with the lontec double six rims that they have on it!!! MEGA
  14. This link displays most of the differances: (even though he can't spell) http://www.mirageautosports.com/GTR/r32dif...ifferences.html Differance between water pumps too: (which most people seem to over-look) http://www.motorex.net/cladding/GTRwaterpump.html Here it states the production was only 228 units in total http://www.motorex.net/r32spec.html * N1 based specification The grade which is set as the based vehicle for N1 durable race participation. Specification corresponds to the GT-R NISMO, but after the appearing of the V-Spec, the brake adopts the brembo make, in addition also the derived wind board (vent attached to the castor rods for front brake cooling) for brake cooling is added. As for the body color only the crystal white 1 color which is added from mid-term type. Total 228 production. (Sourced from http://www.bnr32.net/bnr32/index.html) MEGA
  15. And for all those who think that the term "high flow cat" is an oxy-moron. Here is some tests done on a LS-1 chev(sorry couldn't find a Skyline one) with modifying the standard cats and comparing them to high flow ones on the flow bench. Here is the link: http://www.installuniversity.com/install_u...on11.122001.htm Also I personaly couldn't run my car without a catalytic converter as the power increase would only be approx 3%, and even less compared to a high flow catalytic converter, this also would make any car a rolling defect notice and make it even more destructive to the atmosphere! MEGA
  16. Any removal of a cat is ilegal!(These cat remover pipes are for competition use only) Also it's $250-$300 + fitting cause they aren't bolt in items!! Carsound is a good brand of high flow cats!!, and they are true high flow cats!(have fitted hundreds of the them, mostly to Holden's and Ford's though but have done a few Skyline's, Supra's , Soarer's and a few other imports! MEGA
  17. In the R32 GTR manual for the RB26DETT engine: Oil pan capacity (H level) - 4.5L (4 Imp qt) Oil filter capacity - approx 0.4L (3/8 Imp qt) Also it says to "Use recommended genuine Nissan SG grade engine oil [Turbo X (7.5W-30)] or equivalent" MEGA
  18. Arron, http://www.spipowerexcel.com/manuals.htm Have a 42 page PDF file!(although it might be the same as yours!) http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&A=0301 also just some info on the functions of power fc. MEGA
  19. And I thought I had some bad luck! Stick with it though and you might find some GTR brakes in the for sale section of the forum!! R32's to me are the best, and well worth the wait! MEGA
  20. The japanese like to use PS as their measurement for horsepower! Conversion is 1 horsepower = 1.01387 PS Brake horsepower (bhp), sometimes called shaft horsepower, is the amount of power available for useful work. Bhp is less than flywheel hp because of the various power losses which occur during engine operation. To determine the brake or shaft horsepower that is delivered as useful work by an engine, the sum total of all mechanical losses must be deducted from the total HP (initial or flywheel horsepower). BHP is the reading that dyno's use! This is also sometimes called RWHP or Rear Wheel Horsepower! Here is an online conveter so if you know your HP and want to find out the PS/KW http://locost7.info/converter.php MEGA
  21. gtrken, Are you accusing the importers of winding back the clock's? Sounds like it to me! MEGA
  22. Yep newspaper does the trick without the streaks that you get from using a soft cloth! MEGA
  23. As far as I know.. Japanese's dont drive their cars much if they don't have to, parking in japan can be a real pain sometimes too, and personal parking(in front of house) spots can cost upto a few million dollars.(edit: sorry, This should say"few million yen") And I once heard that the Japanese can't own a car in some of the more dense populated areas unless you have a personal parking spot or somewhere to park the vehicle is this correct? Also with their strict laws, They have to replace engine or car at or before the 50000 mark to comply with their laws! Please correct me if I'am wrong! Edit: My 91 R32 GTR has 48000 on the clock atm. MEGA
  24. Bigdatto, http://www.sdsefi.com/techcooler.htm Click on the above link!! Should find what your looking for! This is the tech page faq home page http://www.sdsefi.com/tech.html For more info on car stuff! MEGA
