Anyone got shots of R34 seats? Interested in what they look like. Red17
-
Its not necessarily the pads causing it, although some pads squeal alot more than others. The skyline is lucky enough to have 4 pots on the front, as a result theres 2 pins which run across the back of the caliper holding the pads and rattle/squeal plates in place. However when the brake pedal is depressed the pads and plates move along the pins causing squeaks and squeals. Unfortunately theres not much you can do about it, you could clean the pins and plates but theyd soon get dirty again quickly. It seems so many Sumitomo 4 pots ive heard do this, and as yet havent heard of a solution. I just wind the windows up Red17

What is this the "I love Steve @ SST" club? People like to stick to the workshop that serves them well. Shop around improvise, but listen to opinions of someone you find trustworthy. Red17

new pics of meggala's sr20 r32 skyline
red17 replied to meggala's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Good to see someones done this conversion over here, quite a popular mod in japan to dump the RB20 for the SR20. Meggala the SR skylines ive seen in most of the jap mags have got top mount intercoolers in the extra space between the engine and the radiator. Nice flat hole in the bonnet can suck the cool air in. Speaking of shepperton rd. You werent the black R32 going south at about midnight last night eh? Blonde in the passenger seat? Couldnt see ze driver. If it was. Let me just say. PUT THE SPRINGS BACK IN MAN! Red17

Check out the R32 GTR 1989 on the Prestige mailing list

Pretty much once its got a single ding on it anywhere it gets knocked back to a 3.5. A 3.5 grade car is still damn good. Mine was a Grade 0 due to its accident history. But it was still immaculate despite only a couple of small areas where the paint was discoloured or slightly flat. Dont touch anything below a 3.5 really, but then again theres some real bargains to be had with zero's because some buyers stay right away from them. Red17 -

I know Speedworks have recently gotten in some great low priced one piece dump and fronts or separate (depending on what you require). Available in stainless or mild steel. Ive got a mild steel one of these on my car and I cant complain. They are all the single pipe type (eg: no separate wastegate pipe). You can find Speedworks in Carbon Ct, Ozzy park. Red17

Ok on the drivers side of the firewall (just behind the drivers side strut tower) there should be a small rectangular black box with a vacuum tube going into the bottom of it. Most likley this has just come off. Red17

Zymotic, you need to have exsisting policies with them in order to get a policy on an import. They wont give out new policies on them. I insure my house contents with them too. Too easy mate. Red17

Paul, ive got a bad record too mate, it'd be about 600 bucks without that After next year though i believe it gets wiped off my record.... 5 years is the limit right? Red17

RB20 -red top turbz with silver topturbo
red17 replied to HRthirtyone's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Dyno indicates my silver top hits peak boost at about 4500rpm and drops nearly 2psi to redline. Tiny stock turbos run out of efficency quickly, no amount of boost control electronic or otherwise is going to help it. Ive never heard of this mod before, always figured both turbos were the same but the intake systems are different between the 2 motors. Im sure an RB head will correct me Red17 -
Last year i was 25 and buying my first import. I rang up my current insurer (Western QBE) and got a quotation on a policy for my R32 GTSt. The answer was $1308 per year, which i thought was pretty damn good value. It probably helped that QBE dont actually have any other 1992 R32 GTSt's on the books. So much that they denied the car even exsisted. This year of course im 26 and was wondering what my insurance would be like. At the time of getting the policy i was told it would drop this year. Well.... it dropped... a grand total of $532! Just $776 per year. Suffice to say IM F'UCKING STOKED! Not all insurance companies suck! Red17

You should see the damage i did to my exhaust valve when cylinder 6 lunched on an electrode. Its not necessarily rings. If its a valve then you'll get out of it much cheaper. Red17

I havent had anyone touch my car yet, but rest assured theres a 10 inch kitchen knife under the couch for just such an occasion. Ive had a couple of false alarms lately from cats, the neighbours can testify to my knife wielding run into the front garden Red17

Im glad you said the fast and the furious wanted to make you learn more rather than actually letting it teach you everything you know. That movie is so full of innacurracy that I know people who went to the sequel just for a laugh. Apparently its not a comedy? Anyway, just as long as the 15 year rule doesnt result in copious amounts of R32's on the road ill be happy You can keep your R33's boys Red17

P plater clocked @ 176km/h in an s14 200sx!! [MERGED]
red17 replied to rb25's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I refuse to "give a break" to someone who does something as stupid as this. As far as im concerned he should be catching the bus for life. I realise the media suck and the way were portrayed within it is never good. But at the end of the day, he still did 170 in a 60. This fact wasnt a creation by the media. Red17 -
I got bored after half an hour and came home. Problem with the APA dyno is that it was just doing the 4wd's so its like half an hour between runs. Thankfully ivan hadnt enlisted my help this time to get the hubs on and off (he got other suckers to do it! tee hee!)..... after 8 hours of that you dont want to see a dyno ever again ;D Red17

Jai you cant talk. The video evidence in regards to your driving speaks for itself. "Jai jai, jai of the jungle, watch out for that tree!" *WHAM!* You seemed blissfully unaware of your surroundings as you slammed into a tree you didnt think was there. Who'd have thought there'd be trees in a forest. Red17

Anyone else going down to this today? Ill be driving the dirty gun grey gtr lookalike (no time or motivation to clean it ) Red17

I got 450-500km to a tank, week in, week out. Stuck a BOV on because i was sick of the horrible noise the standard one makes (and on an R32 with a pod, its VERY loud) and i got..... you guessed it.... 450-500km to a tank. Im not sure how a BOV which is jammed shut 95 percent of the time can effect fuel economy so much. And surely not the figure youve quoted which is 50 percent worse than stock. I know mine "snap crackles and pops" more with the new BOV, meaning its running rich on gear changes, but surely this difference might be 1-2 litres over the period of a tank? Nothing wrong with the operation of the stock bov on the 32, other than it being bloody loud and when on boost all you can hear is air rushing and not the actual engine.... well thats what mine was like and I hated it. Now ive got a TurboXs BOV which has been creatively silenced Red17

I cant believe anyone on here would defend 170km/h in a 60 zone as "hes doing it because he knows he can" and "hes got a better car therefore he should be allowed to" WHAAAATT? There is no other phrase to describe the above act than "ABSOLUTE F'UCKING STUPIDITY". As for the "oh and i suppose youve never gone over the limit" crowd, get real. Theres a big difference between doing 70 in a 60 and 170 in a 60. Anyone who defends this f'ucking muppet deserves the same punishment he gets. Red17 -
Seppuku Japanese Parts. Seppuku is the word for japanese ritual suicide. It also means the same thing as when strapping a T88 onto an RB26. Red17
