  1. Do you have standard rims? Remember the 4 pot's stick out alot more and require different offset rims. If you have aftermarket ones theres no quarantee they will fit. Just something else to think about if you didnt already have enough. By the way the 4 pots are commonly bolted onto S13 silvias and 180SX's so theres no problems bolting them up. Clearance is the main issue. Red17 PS: I though the M Spec was HCR32, not KRCR32?
  2. http://www.haltech.com.au/Dealers/Australia/WA/wa.html Don't see SST there mate. Red17
  3. They shouldnt be different, however dont grind the mag wheel back to solve the problem, shave a few mm off the caliper. Just taking the nissan lettering off will give you 2mm. Before you attempt this get your car checked out by a professional in the suspension/wheels field, someone who can determine why its occuring. Both sides should be the same. One side doesnt have a wheel spacer on or something? Maybe someones forgot to put it back on when changing a wheel? Red17
  4. I can vouch for baz at speedworks, he did my RB20 that has the same problem as adams has at the moment He does top notch work. Red17
  5. Is it just me or do every set of sumitomo 4 spots make squeals, clicks, groans etc.. Seems like every Skyline i hear has the same thing. I was once told perhaps it has something to do with the pads and antisqueal plates moving along the two locking pins. Red17
  6. Hehehe interesting story from last weekend at the track. 400hp Nissan Silvia from the team i was helping out on had a "Start button" failure that caused the car to refuse to start after a spin. This was a $70 switch made by Pivot. It was also made of cheap chrome painted plastic. R I C E. Anyway, we replaced it with a $2 switch from jaycar and all was good. Red17
  7. Hehehe "book" value. According to Western QBE an R32 2 litre turbo skyline doesnt exsist. Im apparently the first one they know about. So much so that they had ME tell them what the market value was. Red17
  8. I dont get any runs in my 32GTST, mainly because it looks just like a GTR and most perth commie drivers seem shit scared of it. But if i hop in my brothers 180SX, you can guarantee ill get some tool wanting a run within 3 sets of lights. Only runs ive had on the street off the lights has been late at night and usually against another skyline owner, simply because he knows it aint a GTR Red17
  9. Number 1 of 100 sold in Melbourne about a month ago with 93,000 on the clock for $28,000 Red17
  10. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=15223 Just spotted these guards for sale in the For Sale section. Red17
  11. If insurance is doing it tell them to ring Nissan. They have most parts off the shelf for the 32 GTR because they sold them over here. Hell, they even had my valves when i broke my motor and thats an RB20DET. Most things nissan can get from Japan within a week if required. If your paying for it, id suggest trying to find one second hand. But if insurance is paying for it, insist on a newie from Nissan. Red17
  12. Have you had your car dyno'ed? Because that will give you the best idea of whats happening. How much is it dropping off? To give you an idea of what its normal turbo behaviour. My standard RB20DET turbo will peak at 11.5 pound at 4200 rpm. After that it drops off slowly to a low of 9.23 at 6250rpm. The stock turbo is not efficent enough to produce the same amount of boost through out the rev range. It "runs out of puff" as it were. A turbo will not hold the same amount of boost to an infinite RPM. If that were the case we'd all be shopping for the smallest turbo we could find so we could shove 18 pound through it with no lag. Of course thats not the case. Turbocharger efficency and how it works is a tricky subject, and something im nowhere near qualified to speak specifically about. But im sure theres others on here that know all about impeller air flow, fin design, housings etc.. Red17
  13. Its not so much a power gain you get with a dump pipe but rather a shifting of the power somewhat. The turbo comes on boost alot earlier meaning your getting alot more midrange power with not alot of gain at the top. So your dyno chart might not show much difference in terms of the peak number, but it will look alot fatter in the middle, which is where you want it. Of course theres no point putting the dump on if youve still got the standard front pipe. You could do the front pipe before the dump but the gains wouldnt be anywhere near as good as having both the dump+front. Since putting the dump on my 32 I would say the turbo is hitting full boost close to a thousand rpm earlier. Bottom end on the RB20 has been beefed up significantly. Before it felt a bit choked. Red17
  14. Also watch out for the paintwork on the bonnet. Mate had a silvia with the turbo heat shield removed, the paint on the bonnet was peeling in under 2 months. Red17
  15. Radium, Copycat, i put mine back on last week after i broke it the first week i had the car. Took a fair bit of modding to get it back on. GTR wing looks the goods, especially with the small lip that runs along the boot. I like it when its on AND off, kinda hard to decide which one i like more. Looks a bit bunky with gaffa tape on the boot tho. Red17
  16. PSIKO, what year you in? Got a mate whos in his first semester of Mechatronic Engineering. Red17
  17. Saw a white S2 R33 'line on Charles St going south, turning right at about 5pm Tuesday. Wheels were Vertec VR5 Quests. If your on here, were they 18's? and how much did you shell out for em? where from? Did the standard offset for this rim fit around the brakes or are you using spacers? Red17. PS: I was in the gun grey 32 GTR faker.
  18. I work for the darkside: Mac Op / Graphic Designer But i dont actually own a mac, so dont hold it against me. Im also work part time on weekends as a Hooligan Red17
  19. I scored pokemon stickers all over the rear windows
  20. I put my aftermarket BOV on so i could have something quieter than the stock one. My old stock one used to make a HEAP of noise (probly because of my air filter pod) and was really sensitive. Whenever i came on boost with the stock bov i couldnt hear the motor underneath the sound of air rushing. Aftermarket BOV has reduced the noise by over 50 percent id say, now all i hear is the howl of 6 lovely RB cylinders. Not sure if all 32 bovs were as bad as my one or if mine had a problem. But its better by far now. Red17
  21. I realise you guys are recommending that you shouldnt leave your car in gear in order to use a remote start correctly, but bear in mind handbrake failures can happen. And if the car isnt in gear and you happen to have a slightly sloped driveway, say goodbye to the car. I ALWAYS leave my car in gear, even when its parked on my flat driveway. Force of habit i suppose since i used to have a hill to park on every night. And dont say it'll never happen, because my mums car did it, rolled down the hill and smashed into a tree on the other side of the road about 1m from going through someones bedroom. Red17
  22. Radium, What HKS EVC do you have? The very first one? Or the one with the LCD screen? Mines just recently started playing up, even when set to minimum level the boost is going up and down all the time, sometimes peaking over 1 bar. Its ruted. Which pipes did you remove? Red17
  23. Ive been told by an accident investigation officer who was on my case when i crashed my Pulsar that insurance companies cannot look up a persons driving record. They cant as such "chase it up" when you have an accident. The only charges they know about ARE: The ones you tell them about and.. The ones that are as a direct result of a claim you have made eg: if you have an accident where its your fault, you are charged, the police then inform insurance of this because it determines who is at fault. Its alot to do with privacy law and so I am told. If anyone knows otherwise, correct me. I know there is someone on this board who works for insurance, they might know. Red17
  24. Well my original post was about speeding and them wanting to have the ability to confiscate cars for 6,12 months and then permanently on the third offence (yeah right). So its moved a bit off topic since... and just turned into a bitch session. Red17
  25. SteveL, Another myth bites the dust. Thanks for your insights. Red17
